  1. I can’t believe how upset people are over this webcam thing lol
  2. Yeah that’s why my definition is both height and drop being over 300’, otherwise it gets too messy.
  3. Even the GP has been saying it’s too similar - even moreso because they don’t realize it will ride differently
  4. To play devils advocate, if a coaster was only 10 feet off the ground but followed a gently sloping hill downward until it had progressed 300ft down the vertical axis, would you call that a giga? IMO height and drop have to be 300 or more for giga status. Sure you could have a coaster 100’ tall and dropping along terrain 300’ but it wouldn’t look like a giga, at least in the sense that most of us think of them.
  5. Yes. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for this being super intense like a lot of people are saying. I think people will be disappointed that way when it turns out to be your standard B&M experience (which is very good, btw) I think this will be very similar to Leviathan. Like a slightly bigger and faster Diamondback basically
  6. That’s sort of evaluating it in a bubble though and ignoring patterns of existing parks. Every time I hear someone say “I would kill to have this in my park!!!” I compare it to lambasting fans of the losing Super Bowl team and being like “I would have killed to have my team even make it to the super bowl!” Yeah but... not really the point. Not sure that’s a totally accurate analogy but hopefully you get what I mean. Guess you could also argue that KI getting a giga at all would more aptly be compared to flat out winning the super bowl.
  7. Oh man lol I forgot I said this consider me flabbergasted I suppose
  8. I bet the first drop will have mag brakes the whole way down and limit the drop to 10mph so it's not too much better than MF Drive tires the rest of the way to complete the circuit
  9. I mean I guess technically it’s a possibility but I definitely would not entertain that idea There’s almost zero chance the train is floorless
  10. It was established earlier in the thread that the actual height is 280-something I think. The ravine gives it a 301’ drop.
  11. Exactly. You kind of indirectly nailed it here. A giga is your one shot to build something incredible, and loads of people feel like this has been full of missed opportunities so far. KI will likely never get anything higher than 300 feet ever again, or at least not soon enough that it’s even worth mentioning. If it was an RMC, we would probably all be happy right now regardless of what it was. Gigas have a reputation for being the record breakers, the precedent-setters, the bar-uppers. On paper it looks like this doesn’t do any of that, and that’s why people are bummed - especially when you consider the size of the plot of land and the topography KI had to work with. As a footnote, being bummed about the product that KI is getting ready to deliver to earn our dollars is in no way spoiled. This is not a birthday present - it is a product, and products are criticized all the time.
  12. In light of recent events
  13. Somebody else pointed out it says 1035 not 1065
  14. If the marketing trends regarding every single ride ever built are any indicator, people absolutely do care. The KI marketing team doubly so.
  15. I'd be okay with the drop length matching or barely beating Fury's if they're truly using that ravine to get a longer drop. If they're using it to lengthen the drop to just barely get a drop over 300 (like 305ft) and the true height is under 300ft, it will feel like a cheap Six Flags move to me. Dunno why you'd spend all that money just to have the actual height be barely under 300ft
  16. All depends on if the drop pullout can even fit there. I can’t tell from any of the photos posted
  17. For what it's worth, when I overlaid the layout image onto google earth to try to measure the layout, it was difficult to get things to match properly. If I had the buildings next to Dinosaurs Alive lined up properly, racer was a bit off and DA path wouldn't fit, and vice versa. One thing I could never get to line up properly was The Beast track. If I lined The Beast track up, literally nothing matched at all. Can't speak to the legitimacy of the layout but that did feel weird. It didn't seem like enough was missing that the layout is going to be wildly different, but it definitely looked and felt like something was missing.
  18. ^ That outer bank turn feels like it's going to launch me clear across Lake Erie every time.
  19. There’s nothing wrong with his design on paper, it’s just a pretty certain thing that’s not what KI is building
  20. Some of you are off your rocker on these launched coaster theories lol
  21. Even for The Beast Unleashed video, the comments were full of GP saying "wow just another Diamondback? Meh" and I tried my hardest to make it wildly different. KI has to be aware of the risk of constructing something that looks way too similar to Diamondback. I have no doubt it will be very different in some way.
  22. Now that I think about an actual pro to this, what if it's just at 300-310 and they're going for an airtime record? Think nothing but the world's tallest, most sustained ejector airtime hills. Back to back to back to back. Like a steel El Toro. That would be unbelievable. I am saying this only because the layout suggests it could be the case.
  23. After I figured out whether to laugh or cry, I'd riot
  24. If it is shorter than 300 feet, I am desperately hoping it's a new ride model. If the leaked layout is the real deal, I am desperately hoping it's a new ride model. I would be more than okay with this thing being something totally new given the information we have. Part of me is still holding onto a shred of hope that KI disseminated some somewhat-bogus documents to shroud what will be the park's biggest investment ever. They know the blueprint song and dance – it has happened for several projects. My brother, who is a project management professional, told me it would be entirely possible to submit blueprints to the city that were slightly off and amend them after the fact. Is it possible they're tired of the blueprint leaks and have found a way around it? I SERIOUSLY doubt this is the case, but I'm kinda hoping it is based on all of our calculations and models we've seen so far. I want an epic giga with at least one record involved, sue me I guess lol. Additionally, I'm really struggling to shake the feeling that KI would very much want to break records for what is almost certainly one of the most anticipated giga projects for the last 10ish years. I can't think of a single park that has had people asking "Giga?" for every single season for several years in a row. The fact that all the info we have right now conflicts with something groundbreaking is... extremely strange to me. That said, I'll still ride the crap out of a mediocre giga if we get it. Could even NOT be a record breaker and still have a legendary ride experience.
