  1. A dive coaster seems like a good replacement for Invertigo(Face-Off). Would make a good front gate coaster, and it will be different than Diamondback and the expected Giga coaster because it will have inversions. So maybe it will be the next new coaster after the giga. Stay tuned.
  2. I don't see how the Outpost 5/SoB references tie into a future project. Could it just be a diversion from the park to confuse enthusiasts?
  3. Oktoberfest has been brought up a few different times now. Where is this Oktoberfest area that you all speak of?
  4. Son of Beast without the jackhammering is my choice. Actually I would also really like to bring back all 3 of the Kings Island coasters I didn't get to ride. Those would be Bavarian Beetle, Demon, and The Bat. The Bat being the most intriguing to me of those 3.
  5. First the Steel Beast video that was all over social media, and now this. I feel like the masses have spoken: Giga or Bust!
  6. Some people seem salty that @RuthlessAirtime got recognition instead of them. It's a bad look. Good job @RuthlessAirtime that was a cool concept you came up with. I don't know if it will be that tall, but I sure hope so!!
  7. @harveyhaddixfan Ok I can dig it. What monetary value would you place on said front of the line tickets? I used to hit up the prize wheel for $5 all the time when the odds were much better.
  8. "Like the rest us". Do you not see your us vs them mentality? Not the best way to have a prosperous and growing community. Can you say what it is that I've done to you that has you so worked up... Did I not kiss your ring and conform to your exact Kings Island and coasters ideology? As far as the thread that got cleaned up, I was the one that asked for moderation in my own thread. There's going to be disagreements from time to time, especially when people are passionate about something. The posts that got removed were off subject and didn't add anything to the conversation. What I want to be there is still there. I like your threads and contributions to this site. Do you think you can bury the hatchet at some point? I overlooked you being the same member that saw it fit to bump the sex at Kings Island thread a couple weeks ago, because although I didn't like it, I rather have you participate than not.
  9. @Phantom Theater thanks for visual. I've seen those there plenty of times now that I think of it. Considering they could slip my mind that way, I feel like there could be a better location for them to be observed without obstructing arguably the best photo op in the park. Move their location, but upgrade to bigger and grander versions is my thoughts on the subject.
  10. @Rivertown Rider Good mention. I remember the year Banshee opened it seemed like they must of had 20 different designs for just that one coaster. Seems like they could have had at least one solid design for every other coaster. I kind of prefer the bold and simple designs myself. I feel like some of the designs miss the mark, and appear more as a concert or NASCAR tshirt more than they do as a trendy novelty tee. Speaking of designs, whoever did the KIC designs for this site really nailed it out of the park!
  11. The Vortex is much scarier imo On Banshee you get up the hill so fast and smooth without much buildup, seconds later you're going down the first drop with adrenaline surging before you even get to the inversions. Vortex is much different. The lift hill is slower and also at a peculiar angle from the rest of the park. There's also the signature Klink you will hear coming from beneath your seat as you slowly climb the hill. You finally start feeling prepared for the plunge, but as you ascend the hill you realize just how sloped the track is at the valley before the drop. You hope the train doesn't fall off the track right then and there! Now it's not just the gravity of the train that will get you zooming, as the train is propelled down the hill adding to the butterflies in your stomach sensation. You're not out of the woods yet, there's still the inversions to come! On a hot day you hope the strong g forces of the first loop followed instantaneously by the second loop doesn't cause you to blackout. Then there's a very forceful brake run, which at times can make you think you are going to be stuck strapped into Vortex. When the ride starts up again, you go through inversions so slow you feel all of your body weight pressing against your restraint, which at that point is without a doubt the only thing keeping you on Vortex and alive.
  12. I feel differently about this. To me Amusement Parks are one of the best parts of America so I like the flag being displayed. To be completely honest, I'm not sure what flagpole you're referencing. Did I overlook it in one of the photos in this thread?
  13. This wouldn't be all that far off if the Earth was completely flat. Spoiler Alert: The Earth isn't flat. One must also take into consideration changes in elevations..
  14. I'd be all for a Sky Ride. I would gladly trade the train to get one too!
  15. I hear they are making improvements and innovations in VR. I'm looking forward to seeing how immersive they can make it now in the late teens/early 20s and beyond! @flightoffear1996 valet would be nice, sometimes the most stressful part of the KI day is finding a parking spot. @harveyhaddixfan I really like the thought of the first fast pass for the season being heavily discounted. I don't know how I feel about season long/bulk Fast Pass. Worried it could become overused causing congested lines while simultaneously dampering the experience of the kids with less fortunate parents. @SonofBaconator What would it be like inside of the VR headset on a coaster? Would it be like a filter with extra images/effects added to your normal vision? Or are you talking completely new images being the only thing you see? Would there still be a way to choose what you are looking at to not feel like your head was spinning disconnected from reality?
  16. There's smaller measurements than 100 foot increments. You think you can just wing it, when a quarter of an inch could have been the reason the rose bowl was so rough? You say you're stating facts, but you're pulling numbers out of the air at this point. You're also the only one talking about triangles.
  17. I think the park has done a great job of adding in new and fun activities over the years. Recent non-ride examples being beach volleyball, a petting zoo, and park-wide wifi. Do you feel like there are still services yet to be offered that you would pay extra for? I think it would be great if Kings Island added a massage parlor, maybe somewhere around International Street. I mean you spend all that time walking around the park, why not have a place where you can kick your feet up and release your stress and tightness? Sounds like paradise and Kings Island just collided! Another idea is a photoshop both. They had one in the 90s, why not today? Too scared or little to ride Son of Beast back in the day? Well boom, here's a photoshopped ride photo for you to convince people otherwise! Lastly I would recommend a merchandise club. Basically the more merch you buy, the more you get to save, but not just on the high profit items. Time to get your KI swag on! Anything I left out?
  18. Centurion was a charachter on Star Trek..
  19. I don't like to make habit of using off the cuff approximations. That's the type of practice that lead to Son of Beast's demise.
  20. Good question, I'm not at the park right now to measure. They might need to dig a deep end into the royal fountains to accommodate. At the same time, they could also add a high diving act. How's that for a 2 for 1?!
  21. A complete re theme is much more likely than Kings Island making any expansions to Oktoberfest.
  22. I was sharing my idea with the thread, I wasn't proposing it to you personally @fyrfyter If you are keen on "ambiance", perhaps a museum would be more your milieu.
  23. They should add a zip line from the top of the Eiffel Tower and have it end with a splash landing in the Royal Fountains reservoir kind of like Diamondback. It would help bring some thrill to the area that it's desperately missing.
  24. Steel Vengeance (6) vs. Maverick (4) The Beast (6) vs. Banshee (4)
