  1. The park appears to have changed their operating hours until June 10th to 8pm closes.
  2. Problem I see with this though is, what prevents an adult coming in with them, dropping them off and then leaving. I can’t really see how anyone can prevent that.
  3. So on the note of this chaperoning thing, should that be the route the park decides to take, how would they even enforce this? Seeing as though they are understaffed literally everywhere and are contracting out security right now? Any thoughts on how they might do this?
  4. While I understand the frustration of everyone involved and maybe I am reading it the wrong way from some of us here discussing. I don't think blaming the park is the right way to go about this, they hold some responsibility obviously. However, they can only be so proactive with what they have available to them, beyond that it is how they react to that which we will see.
  5. I think one thing is pretty clear here and this is more in response to some of the things I’ve seen elsewhere rather than here really but still Important. this situation got out of control so quickly it isn’t fair to blame the employees for this, does Kings Island have some responsibility yes, however a lot of these kids it was their first or second weekend at the park working. security is understaffed and it’s important to understand that a lot of them are new. The employees always ask for your patience the weekends up to full time season for that reason. my point being not that I think anyone here is, but that it isn’t as simple as blaming the employees for what occurred, I actually think they did brilliantly given the unfortunate circumstances.
  6. Thank you for posting this, I worked alongside Guil in Security it is a very saddening loss for our department.
  7. Yes, I will mention especially coming through the Health Screening, We did our training today. It will be different the first few weeks we will most definitely need peoples patience, we want you in the park, but please make sure to be patient with us as im sure all of you here will be.
  8. According to an article I read they want to open up immediately or at least have the permission to do so. An attorney for Cedar Fair stated that they’d have to see if two weeks was sufficient.
  9. Depending on what happens tomorrow with the hearing scheduled. I’d bet we see a lot more from the park after that.
  10. Agreed being Security in the park I am likely to be on high alert I have to be careful about what I can and cannot say in an public forum, however I do know that people who do not follow the rules will be dealt with. I am worried about people getting aggressive over the mask thing, because It is a divided subject hopefully like you say it isn’t horrible but I am worried that information won’t be spread and people will be ill informed and then we have to clean up the mess left behind.
  11. He can say whatever he wants that doesn’t mean it is necessarily true, if that were the case I don’t believe they would have filed suit.
  12. Oh it is finally over, Thank God, I truly believe that he would not have made this announcement today if they had not filed that lawsuit.
  13. Just heard on my Local News Station that there is indeed a press conference.
  14. "Chief U.S. District Judge Algenon L. Marbley said that Gilded Social: The Fancy Occasion shop had not been singled out by not being offered a way to contest being ruled nonessential immediately. Marbley said the state has a legitimate justification for its business restrictions." - You are correct in the fact that the ruling in Gilded Social v. Amy Acton was not successful however, this was from months ago when the situation was not the same as it is today and virtually everything was shut down hence the reasoning for the Chief Judges comments stating they had "not been singled out". In this particular case however, we see many things if not just about everything but Amusement Parks and Casinos re opening, the Legal Precedent being established here and what is cited in the lawsuit is Rock House Fitness v. Acton, which was successful with Judge Eugene Lucci stating Dr Amy Acton acted "in an impermissibly arbitrary, unreasonable, and oppressive manner and without any procedural safeguards.” The Issue for the court now that Legal Precedent has been found is determining whether that also applies to this case, which I and many others believe it does. because in this situation they are being excluded unlike what Chief Judge Marbley was stating. As to your comment in reference to traditional queue lines, I read the filing with Warren County Common Pleas Court and there is no mention of traditional queues being an issue, perhaps you found this information from somewhere else or are assuming that this is the case but I have not heard of this from anywhere. As far as it being a good move, I believe it was a very good move on the part of the park because they have legal rights just as everyone else does and this will likely be decided or settled very quickly.
  15. Interesting that it isn’t just Kings Island and that that legal advocacy group is getting involved the likelihood is that this will be expedited through our legal system or their will be a settlement with the state. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/state/cedar-point-kings-island-kalahari-file-lawsuit-against-state-of-ohio
  16. Yeah amen to that sentiment. The thing is, there is nothing I can think of that is not allowed at some point to reopen now, so the parks are going to get a lot more attention as to why they are still closed I would have to think.
  17. This is beyond ridiculous, I have no clue what dewines problems is but this is just absolutely ridiculous.
  18. Agreed, I am one of the trainers for my area and this is definitely going to put us in a situation where we have to be fast about training people.
  19. I wasn’t referring to the press conference I was referring to the press release he mentions in that tweet I was wondering if anyone knew what time it’d be published.
  20. Anyone know when this press release is supposed to be made today? I’m assuming still around 2:00pm?
  21. They did, I recall seeing in I think their earnings report that they wanted to be in “a state of readiness” to reopen when local governments allowed them to do so.
  22. Drove past the Island today, saw a lot of work being done around the security entrance looked like possibly some new signage and some stuff.
  23. Ya know I’m not sure it will be closed til July due to the fact that this order was signed Friday to include fairs, but fairs had also been told they would be managed by individuals fair boards and yesterday there was guidance released for that. Really the order is confusing and contradictory to what is being said by Dewine and Husted.
