  1. They probably teased on day 1 for Banshee and Mystic Timbers because there was no notable addition to the dry park in the years that they were teased. This year there actually is a new ride along with a brand new event. The park knows that with this new throwback ride and a new immersive event along with a bunch of added nostalgia that there will be people who will make the trip out to Kings Island just for this. There are probably many people in other parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky who don’t make it to the park every year, but they do make a trip out when there is something new. If the park were to tease from day 1, some of these people would just skip this year and come in 2020 for the new ride. Obviously, like Chad said in the WCPO interview (thank you @Hawaiian Coasters 325), the park was doing everything they could to focus attention on 2019 and not 2020. Unfortunately for them, a lot of enthusiasts and some GP already know what is happening. I know that 2016 did bring Tropical Plunge, and teasers showed up on day 1, but I don’t think people come in from other states and drive hours and hours to go to Soak City. If they only had one day at Kings Island every year, I think they would most certainly want to be riding the rides.
  2. I predict the announcement will be in mid to late August. If they are going to wait so long to put teasers up, they probably don’t want to announcement it only a few weeks later. I also hope the teaser campaign is more involved like Carowinds’ was last year and not like Mystic Timbers’ teaser campaign. I say if we don’t see teasers by the end of next weekend, there are not going to be any at all. I really do hope that is not the case though!
  3. I originally thought the name Orion was the better of the two names, but now I think Polaris is starting to grow on me. I still think Orion is more likely, but Polaris is definitely now my favorite.
  4. I checked the webcams... still seems to be the problem. I think they will be back to three train operations in the next day or so though, assuming that nothing major happened to that one train.
  5. Anyone at/going to the park today?
  6. Maybe, just maybe there will be some tomorrow or later this weekend...
  7. Amazing work @DustinTheNow! The whole coaster looks really great!
  8. Out track, MCT, also has to be a B&M mega coaster, either a hyper or a giga because MC is the label B&M gives to these types of rides in their catalog. Good question/theory though!
  9. I am calling it... teasers on Friday! When Grand Carnivale is wrapping up!
  10. Can’t wait for vertical construction!
  11. That is probably the best way for the park to go. I am just worried that they are going to have to take out another ride to add a new midway.
  12. I don’t believe anyone has gone yet recently, but I would be perfectly okay with someone going!
  13. Do you think that the Firehawk trains, which are still in the park, or the top of Firehawk’s loop that was spotted on some road will be incorporated into the ride’s theming? How do you think they would do it?
  14. Maybe you saved the man’s life, telling the park employee, and ultimately having security stop him. As for his consequences, he was probably ejected from the park.
  15. It was Paramount who did that... Cedar Fair might want to go a different direction. I have never had that happened to me, but hey, at least it was a pleasant experience! LOL!
  16. But when you have three rollercoasters side by side by side, there will be way too many people in that area of the park. The entrance to a new coaster would have to be directly beside The Bat’s entrance which would lead to confusion. It is different having a wooden roller coaster and water ride next to each other (or on top of one another).
  17. They could access the Son of Beast land by removing Adventure Express. It would be hard to fit the entrance and beginning to the rolle coaster in between The Bat and Banshee. They could definitely do this, but I don’t see them cramming in things when they don’t have to.
  18. Adventure Express is far from bad, but the same could be said for Firehawk. Taking it out gives you access to all of the land behind Banshee!
  19. Knowing the park, they will definitely have a surprise in store for us. We thought we knew everything there was to know when Mystic Timber’s layout leaked, but speculation about what was in the shed lasted until opening day.
  20. I think it has been there for a while now. When Firehawk opened, they had all of these white lines painted on the concrete, and maybe those marks you are seeing are the remnants after the paint was removed. I’ll try to find a picture, but good question!
  21. The whole point of this thread was to decode and figure out what the park was getting in 2020. Yeah, we may have figured it out faster than some people would have liked, but I think the mission was accomplished! I think it is cool how so many people were so dedicated and spent quality time going out to get blueprints, making concepts, and taking pictures of track for us to enjoy. Heck, we even had a couple of people with so much passion that they went out and flew planes to get pictures for us. Are people sad that most of it is over now... yeah, but it was fun while it lasted. I, for one do not feel the slightest bit of disappointment, and I enjoyed every minute of the past few months worth of decoding. I think the problem is that people enjoyed decoding this project so much, and they are just sad to see it be over. I completely understand that but like @TheBEASTunchained said way back on page 1, “Here’s to 2020!”
  22. I don’t think the building will be removed according to the plans, but they could maybe put a small entrance plaza right next to the old Firehawk photo booth where you enter the giga. It would be nice if it looked like Banshee’s entrance.
  23. That that is true, but I know some people that don’t even know there is an area behind The Racer! Oktoberfest is also pretty forgotten, but I think it just needs a new ride or coaster like what X-Base is getting in 2020!
  24. I still think the park will have announced, let alone tease, the new coaster before supports start going up. Imagine people seeing a coaster rising high when the park has not even said a word about it. However, it does look like they will want to go vertical fairly soon, so I hope the announcement is not too far away!
