  1. Last year, my dad and me bought fast-lane passes on presidents day due to KI having a sale for something crazy like half off. I was just wondering if they were going to do that this season, or if anyone had seen anything about discounted fast-lanes. If you can help, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  2. I'm really bummed that the parks got delayed. I would have been fine if this had happened any other year (or not at all), for many reasons. This season was looking to be an outstanding year for KI and other various parks. With the opening of Orion, as well as coasters in other parks like Pantheon, Jersey Devil, and the amazing Iron Gwazi. But aside from the park connection, this really had a impact on my personal plan. I had my first Disney trip planned for right about now on Spring Break. Also, relating back to KI, I bought a Gold Pass for the first time this year and added a season dining plan. That being said, does anyone know if the passholders will be receiving anything special from the park for only getting what feels like 3/4 the season.

  3. Recently, I found this channel and it is really cool. I don't know if it is even allowed by the park, but its still kinda cool. I was just browsing YouTube when I found this.

This is the link to his videos vvv

vvv And in this video, it really shows Vortex's plot of land. I thought it was really kinda cool to see the land we will hopefully be working with within the next couple years for a potential new coaster. vvv

I really hope this guy got permission to fly over like this, because this is really awesome if he did. I recommend checking out all of his KI videos because they really show some cool stuff that you can't see on the live cams:lol:

  4. I really hope that the park puts in an amazing sign with the logo like they did with Banshee because Banshee's sign is considered one of the best in the country. If they did that with Orion, that would be amazing and look great.

They tore down the station a couple weeks ago

Oh! I seem to have completely missed that fact. Thank you for correcting me. But with this new information that has been presented to me, I definitely think that we will be seeing some path widening, possibly with some new pavers like what they did with International Street for the 2019 season.

It will be interesting to see if they widen the pathways with Vortex being gone.

The area back by WindSeeker has needed some more space but that should be less of an issue this year since Vortex exit traffic won't be happening anymore.

If the park intends to keep the old Bat/Vortex station, then I don't see them widening any paths. I do agree that they need to widen it and that that area of the park would look a lot better, but only time will tell if they keep the Station.

I'm also starting to think that it doesn't have to be a coaster to go into that plot of land. If CF really wants to spread out coasters and do more interactive experiences, then I think they could do something like a Forbidden Frontier and/or a midway expansion there. Yes, that land is perfect for a coaster, but if this was in fact a last minute decision and they want to find something to put there fast, then maybe a 2021/22 Forbidden Frontier type attraction is a possibility.

I would hope it would be a coaster, but then again, I have not experienced Forbidden Frontier for myself yet, so I don't know what its like. An RMC launched Hybrid would be my personal pic, but a great hybrid would do just fine. A B&M dive would fit there wonderfully as well though.

I watched in the loop's latest video on Iron Gwazi and let me say. Imagine that type of RMC lift structure towering in the back of the park where Vortex was.

    If only...

That would be so amazing and there is a chance it could happen...but then again, there is that new GCI hybrid, and we haven't seen what the're able to do.

I kept my head forward the whole time, as I do on most rides, and honestly saw no benefit. That **** scrambled me like an egg.

Very much agreed. That ride does not deserve to be at a world class park like Cedar Point. I do not want Kings Island to get a floorless like Rougarou, let alone a floorless at all.

I actually really like Rougarou. The thing is that if you keep your head forward, you get less head banging. I've ridden two floorless coasters (Rougarou and Scream at SFMM) and both I kept my head forward and enjoyed both.

With that being said, if KI were to get a ground up floorless, I believe it would have vest restraints.

While I find it true that if we were to get a floorless that it wold have vest restraints, I do not agree with leaning your head forward on old floorless' with the old restraints does not improve the ride quality or less headbanging.

I rode Rougarou for the first time this summer and it was horrible! Mid day so no excuse for not being warm and it felt like I was getting sized up by an egg beater. I normally avoid all head-banging by keeping my headoff the headrest but even that didn't work one bit. I couldn't enjoy the ride and the layout because it was so bad, I just wanted off. Have never ridden any other ride that I felt even compared to the pain that put me through.

A friend and I rode Vortex last night for the last time, and besides it being THE BEST Vortex has ever ran for me, it gave us plenty of time to discuss land options. I think at the end of the day I would wait longer for an RMC version of Vortex or Son of Beast, whatever you want to name it, than anything else. That would be my top tier replacement. Number two is probably more like A multilaunch looper with a good chunk of inversions and I think my tier 3 would be a dive. The only reason I like a dive in that spot is I think you could do a lot with the land and even have a cool woods moment, but it's definitely not my favorite idea though.

You sir, have the exact opinion I have on Rougaeou and Vortex's land. (Off topic) I cannot believe you were thinking the same thing as me, (On topic) and waiting till 2023 or 2024 would be worth it for a top tier RMC like(In my opinion) Lightning Rod or Steel Vengeance. Rougarou was unbearable when I rode it so I'll take any other model besides a floorless or stand-up.
