  1. I love this idea! It needs a revamp and KI is already so campy especially in that area of the park with Rivertown, I think this would fit perfectly
  2. woah! this is awesome man thanks for sharing. i’ve always been mesmerized by those paintings!
  3. I am a huge fan of the grand carousel. As a lifetime KI gold pass member, I have many fond childhood memories on it. However, my favorite memory has to be spending my days nannying three kids who also happen to have KI passes (best gig ever), and our tradition was to start every day with them taking a carousel ride as I drank my morning coffee from the starbucks on IS (I was in charge of three children who weren't mine; I needed it). Today I really love seeing the carousel lit up at night, especially during Winterfest. Something that ha always interested me however was the paintings of landsca
  4. Just came to say how badass your profile picture/gif is  Love it

Thank you! I made it about 10 years ago and haven't changed it since

  5. Love this topic! Really like seeing the friendly debate in the thread as well. Having been to both parks of course, I have to agree with the general consensus of this thread — CP is all about thrills and KI is about all-around experience. So depending on what you like, hard to say which park is “better.” I personally like the aesthetic and overall experience of Kings Island. Don’t get me wrong I love a good coaster, but KI has those (just not as big as CP), along with great food options, better themes, year-round events (usually) and just better vibes as you walk around the park. I
  6. Winterfest is my favorite Cincinnati-area christmas attraction. They go into serious detail in every corner of the park, changing all the restaurant and shop names. The lights display beats the zoo! There’s just magic in the air. Here are some of my fav pics I’ve taken, from the last two years!
  7. I love this idea. AZ has never been a theme I liked and Oktoberfest needs more ground because its awesome! Doing a german/spooky hallow theme would be fantastic. I also don't hate the idea of one year round haunted house at the park, and this would be a perfect spot for it. You have my vote!!
  8. I agree! One of my favorite parts of the park is the themed areas, especially Rivertown and Oktoberfest. I would love to see KI turn it’s attention to aesthetic detail now that they’ve added 2 new rides in recent years.
  9. Imagine a Thanksgiving theme at the park! Pilgrims, turkey, leaves.... sounds heavenly
  10. Although the ride itself is definitely lacking, especially in comparison to the others — but I actually like the location of the ride so I hope they put a new ride back there! I like walking back into the woods and flying through the trees. Anyone agree?
  11. For some reason I can find a date of opening day 2020? Also— do good pass riders get a whole day earlier admittance for Orion early ride times or do we just get in an hour early like regular season? TIA!
  12. I really hope they do something cool with Vortex’s space! I love the idea they had with bringing back the antiques cars — fun for families and brings back nostalgia for older people. I would really like to see them bring back a revamped version of an old attraction.
  13. Awesome!! Def gonna spend my day reading it all, thanks!
  14. As a die hard KI fan, one thing that interests me most is the history of the park. Mississippi Jane, The Beast being haunted, the cemetery located by the ticket gates, etc! Let’s hear all the stories and myths you’ve heard/researched about the park.
  15. Hey KI fans! Gearing up for my first trip to winterfest this year— I love reading all your posts in this forum to get me psyched! Really looking forward to trying to blue ice cream hot chocolate! I have some questions that the website doesn’t seem to answer: Does anyone know if the old reds hall of fame grill still has that thanksgiving sandwich? I had it in 2017 and have been thinking about it since! If not, give me recommendations on where to eat—there’s so many options! Also, does Miami valley railroad still do the 12 days of Christmas display? Thanks in adv
  16. Hey KI friends! Tonight (9/27) I am taking the kiddo I babysit to Haunt for her first time! She turned 12 last week and wanted me to take her for her birthday :’) any tips for first time kids?! She says she’s excited, but I’m afraid there’s a possibility she’ll get shocked immediately and wanna give up! We don’t wanna go on the no-boo necklace route (at least we don’t think so) so any advice is appreciated!
  17. This is bittersweet for me! Vortex was my first big coaster as a kid that made me fall in love with coasters. It was a landmark of the park, located in the hub of activity in Coney Mall. However, we can all agree it was getting a little rusty. I have no doubt KI has something in mind for that space, they never cease to surprise us! I just wish they announced this in the beginning of the season, so there’d be more times for final rides— even though they seem to like to announce retirements this time of year. Speaking of which, anyone have any theories on the fact that this was the same day the
  18. Friday’s are not nearly as busy as Saturday’s, and are cheaper tickets.
  19. I LOVE how you mentioned candlelight park... love that book!!
  20. First of all— Id like to say how much I love reading everyone’s posts! Seeing people who appreciate The Beast like I do is awesome. Living only 30 minutes away from the park, I’ve had the pleasure of spending every childhood summer of my existence there ( now- I babysit an awesome family who all has gold passes as well, so I get to spend my summers there still giving them the childhood I had!) anyways, having had a gold pass for the past 10 years or so, I’ve ridden every ride in the park countless times. I can thank my Dad for pushing me to ride coasters (he shares the same love I have for the
