  1. Has anyone heard any specific rumors on this? I've heard that they found a lot of cracks in the track and that it hasn't tested since march? Hopefully this doesn't get deleted because of the park not having given any information lol, that's why I'm posting it in rumors.

  2. Hey all, I'm working on a video for the channel (think along the lines of the "Buy or Sell" series by Airtime thrills, and could use your help! Give me your predictions for what will happen in the future of Kings Island! What kinds of new attractions do you see coming? Is there a ride you don't think we'll make it much longer? Whatever it is leave it below!

  3. Seeing some reports on Facebook that The Bat has begun to test. Can anyone confirm?

EDIT: Found this video as well, but still would love to hear if anyone from KIC was at the park today and saw it themselves.

    5. Firehawk

    4. Scoobys Ghoster Coaster

    3. Scooby Doos Haunted Castle

    2. Vortex

    1. Phantom Theater

I miss Vortex more than I thought I would, it was always a short wait and fun ride, it may have been rough but I have a soft spot for it, it was my first “upside down” coaster. Firehawk was unique but I don’t miss it too much. I love Phantom Theater, I loved Scooby too, and overall miss the Hanna-Barbara theming in the park. As for the Ghoster Coaster, that thing terrified me but was a lot of fun when I was younger.

Thanks for this lol. Was starting to feel insecure for putting Phantom Theater at number 1 but honestly I've thought about it a lot more often over the years than any other ride they've taken out. Loved that thing.

Remember that next time the park calls the season pass people entitled or sycophantic enthusiasts say the park doesn’t owe anyone anything.

Wait has the park ever said that? I hear people on here say things like that all the time but it would be really surprising to hear that someone from the park said that lol. You have a good point though regardless.

Yes they have. I am actually good friends with the employee that sits there telling people it is closed.

Oh wow I'm pretty sure I'd just stop coming back to work after a couple days of that. That sounds awful. lol

Now I don't know about all of you but I am pretty dang content hearing Rush and The Eagles in Action Zone now lol.

Also a strong supporter of I-Street's music too. Never thought I'd hear orchestral Muse, Green Day, David Bowie and some Meme songs all play on International street yet here we are and I'm all for it.

Totally agree! The music over in that section has been great lately. Also I guess this is an unpopular opinion around here now but I still like the Rivertown music.

They made one guy change or cover his shirt because they didn't like it. He had a group of people with him---didn't matter. Get rid of it, or leave. He found a different shirt.

Oh good, sounds like they're going to be annoyingly over the top and hyper vigilant for a while like a 16 year old lifeguard. Oh well, at least they hired more security and hopefully we won't have any more big problems at the park.

I just don’t understand why Kings Island’s social media has been so dormant. They used to post multiple times a day, and now they are posting nothing. All they need to do is say they are adjusting the hours and move on.

I don't know how much you guys were keeping tabs on it, but the same thing happened when they yoinked a bunch of days from CP's operating calendar. People figured it out HOURS before there was any mention from the park about it. In addition to that the website still showed the park being open those days, you just couldn't make reservations for the park or the hotels. People were @ing them on twitter and they just didn't respond. I get that they probably wanted time to coalesce around a message before saying anything but I think it just ****ed a lot of people off. You bring up the point about Social Media being dormant and it makes me wonder if they've been told to just kind of leave those accounts alone for a while until all this blows over lol.

I agree with all that. I just think it would come off better if they would publicly say that instead of... nothing. Still nothing on social about the time change, and website says nothing other than if you go through all the steps to get to the calendar, that’s been updated. No banner or notice on the hone page.

I hear you. I got an email from them about it and just happened to see it, otherwise I wouldn't have even known lol.

I mean the likely reason for the cut hours is due to the wage increases, which was caused by insufficient staffing. Doesn’t mean the park lied about anything.

My take on it was the decreased hours are to prevent another security situation while they sort everything out. I'd bet money the Mason police recommended the temporary change. I'm sure they've been able to hire more security but it's going to take a couple weeks to get things on track in that regard. I don't have any inside information obviously so I could totally be wrong that's just what I'm thinking.

this isn't the 70's or 80's........Kids go out and raise hell nowadays.

Uh....how much do you know about the 70's and 80's? Also, I'm not that old thank you very much! lol. No idea why you'd assume that.

I really don't think highschool kids should have to bring their mom to go to Kings Island just because Cedar Fair has completely botched the first 3 weeks of the season. The individuals who caused this are of course at fault for their own actions, but some of the responsibility here absolutely goes to the park.

I don’t know how old you are, but have you ever gone to Kings Island with the some friends when you have not been over the age of 21? How would you feel not being allowed to attend? I don’t think many people would appreciate a chaperone policy even if it sounds like a good idea in theory.

Wow yeah this is crazy that people want this I agree with you completely. I've lived in this region my entire life and I'm sure it's been the same for a lot of you that the first time you're able to walk around at Kings Island without your parents is a right of passage around here (even if you had to meet back at the Eiffel Tower by 4pm. EXACTLY 4pm). One of my first "dates" with my wife was at KI on a fall Saturday back when we were both in 8th grade. I have GREAT memories of going to Kings Island with my friends at that age. I'm amazed that people are applauding Kentucky Kingdom enacting a policy that forces High School freshman to walk around an amusement park with their parents. If there's anyone who should be absolutely able to enjoy amusement parks, wouldn't it be people that age?

It's funny because I'd bet money that some of the people on this board pushing for this change are the same people that go on and on about how soft kids are nowadays because parents baby them and won't let them do anything.

The reason Cedar Fair keeps getting bad press lately is largely on their own shoulders. You go into a season where you know staffing is going to be a challenge, try to hire security cards for like $1.50 an hour LESS than Walmart pays people to decorate birthday cakes, and then wonder why fights are breaking out in the park.

    5. Operate with a 2019 and prior calendar. The park is so popular, it needs the early and late season availability to spread out a lot of the destination and passholder guests.

I like your answers a lot, but this one especially. I'm really worried they're going to keep the shrunken calendar. I mean especially since they're business is so much about passes and things like the meal plan, it seems they might actually have more of an incentive to operate less.

In the future they need to get back to basics like what made if fun in the 90's and 2000's.  It was a way better experience before they bought the paramount parks.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this? I had been to Cedar Point around this time but not enough to have an opinion on it like that, and so I'm just curious.
