  1. The only thing I didn’t like is stopping 10+ times in the station as the train parked. I don’t recall it doing that before?
Also, for the first time ever, I got off of The Beast without being in pain!

Yeah it definitely seems like beast got a new control system during this refurbishment. The restraints all lock in a different pattern and the train takes forever to park . I hope they figure out a way to make it Park quickly because KI does a great job operations wise and it would be a shame to add an extra 30 seconds every cycle because of the slow parking .

That being said beast is definitely incredible!

  2. Oh really they added a bunny hill? Wish they uploaded a new POV

I wouldn’t call it a bunny hill but you do get an interesting little pop going into the the concrete tunnel after the break shed. I’d have to ride again to even know exactly what that was as I was in the very back

  3. The Racer’s outward run is very smooth and has good airtime. However, the return trip that Gravity Group did not touch is still pretty rough. I wish Gravity Group would address the return trip because as of now, a lot of the general public considers The Racer to be a rough and rather uncomfortable ride.

Totally agree with you. Here is to KI completing the retracking for racer during the off season. Has the return section of track been painted ? If it has I’m skeptical they will retrack the rest of racer unfortunately

  4. How does it compare to The Racer retrack (smoothness wise)? I won't be able to get to the park until late july and I am anxious to know how much smoother it got.

I think racer is smoother but I think that has more to do with the track being completely straight and less forceful. You can still feel the trains on beast shuffle a bit while banking and the helix is still intense but it’s still butter smooth.

  5. I believe The Beast also got a new controls system.

Some thing that might be related to that is I noticed that when the operators press the button to lock or unlock restraints you hear each individual car click in sequence as opposed to how it was last year where you hear two distinct clicks and buzzes.

  6. I didn't feel any air myself. I did not feel the extra degree or really any change on the first drop other than being more smooth.

I felt exactly the same. The steeper drop angle isn’t really all that noticeable.

  7. The hype is definitely real! While it’s not the trimless experience that we all hoped would happen. It’s definitely an upgrade and it seems to ride very smoothly regardless of which seat you’re in. For the record I was in the very back of the train on a wheel seat and experienced zero discomfort. Some might say that it takes the edge off the ride and maybe I agree slightly but it’s still to me a net gain for it to be so smooth.

  8. I work directly with these people at great wolf lodge. The workers are very nice but upper management leaves a lot to be desired . I know workers who were asked asked their vacation time during Covid because they wouldn’t pay their workers if they got sick. But this isn’t particularly exciting news. I never play in the arcades when I’m at the park

  9. We just got an update on The Racer Repaint at Kings Island for the 50th anniversary.
I don't know about you, but this already looks AMAZING!

This is absolutely awesome to see. I know that they’re trying to celebrate their 50th anniversary but there was a lot of rides in the park that could use some paint especially racer. I am so excited to go check out the park in April.

  10. No way it goes backwards again. I guess since all the old rides are "official merch" too they are coming back? Not trying to be rude, trust me i would love it to come back. But i dont think it will sadly.

The only reason I am bringing this up is because KI has been making a lot of small changes to the park and the parks 50th is coming up. I didn’t just jump to conclusions just because of old ride merch being sold . I’m still convinced that nothing is going to happen as far as racer is concerned but KI has a history of making teasers. The probability is never Zero

  11. If batman clones can run backwards no reason a woodie can't.  Its more about Cedar Fair and their insurance company like the seatbelts on all their b&m hypers.

I’m cool with seatbelts but I wish that they were used as a way to keep the restraint down rather than keeping our bodies down. Like I love how for example on Banshee the seatbelt is a fail safe method to keep the restraint down and it really doesn’t affect the rider at all. As opposed to diamond back in Orion where you have to physically have a seatbelt buckled and assuming a restraint opened you would be relying on the seatbelt to hold you in . Idk if this makes any sense at all

  12. I believe they have stated many times Racer will never run backwards again as it never was designed to go backwards and PTC's instructions were to run it forwards only.

This is exactly why I feel like it’s not going to go backwards!

That being said though they have been giving a lot of love to racer recently with the retracking and the parks 50th is coming and this would be an easy crowd pleaser… my heart says Yes but my brain says no .

  13. https://www.kingsislandgear.com/collections/new-apparel/products/racer-tee

Here is the link to the shirts and in the Facebook post KI mentions

"Whoops! Our printer got this one "Backwards!"

This version of the soft style Gildan tee will be available for a limited time only.  Free Shipping offer applies to this item only. "

This seems like oddly specific use of word backwards and the fact its being sold as official merch makes me believe this is a subtle tease for a backwards racer side once again. I mean the GP absolutely loved when it went backwards and i still hear people talking about how much they miss it. Including enthusiasts.

So what do you guys think about it?

  14. Someone put on KIC’s social media that it was the backstory of the Chaos HalloTween maze.

I’m not sure if anyone’s actually mentioned that these teasers are in the chaos maze Queue from what I could tell. I didn’t actually go inside of the line for chaos but I did check it out after I got off of Orion

  15. I seriously doubt they would start a teaser campaign for a Huant attraction a year in advance.

I totally agree but what I think is even more unlikely is them teasing a ride that’s supposedly supposed to be opening next year … in October of this year . I mean certainly anything is possible but that’s just my take.

  16. Yeah I’m totally clueless. There’s just no way that this is a coaster and I don’t even think either flat right is it either. If I had to take a guess I would say maybe a new haunt attraction next year. Themed to Orion to some degree ?

  17. Considering part of The Beast had to be re-tracked in the middle of the current season, they should probably retrack large sections of it. Not sure how easily you could put prefab pieces on Beast though, especially inside those tunnels?

Have to imagine they could remove and replace the tunnel if needed .
