I am all for the blue color track and black or grey supports. I think that was the colors used in the animation a user made recently and I think it looked awesome.

You seem to have come to a decoding thread to complain about food service and other park issues. There are separate threads for that. Obviously you have an issue with park operations, and you can talk with your money. Don’t renew.

Not a single person was outraged about a possible fountain name change haha @KIghostguy At a recent trip to Universal, I saw their new nightly ”cinematic celebration” show. Fountains spray water into the air and they project movie scenes onto the “water screens”. If the fountains will be moving anything like these, I will be impressed. @Reesesp56 I’m not sure if you’re aware but we’re on a Kings Island forum, not Disney or Universal. Would you like to pay Universal and Disney prices for your pass to Kings Island? I’m good. I have an annual pass to Universal. Cost me $380. KI cost me $115. There is a trade off there. You’re not going to get the best service at a seasonal park that has seasonal employees. Also, you seem to have a lot of issues when you go to the park that no one else seems to have. I’ve gone 4 times this season, haven’t had a single problem that you’ve had. *shrug*

You have every right to be disappointed. Don’t forget that KI and Cedar Fair are businesses. They don’t build attractions for coaster enthusiasts. Maybe at CP, but definitely not at KI. It’s an attraction to bring interest to the park and bring more people in. I guess no competition can be bad. If KI was owned by Busch or other park operators (not six), I’m sure they’d be adding a multi record breaker.

I am PUMPED. 300’?? 95 mph (probably)!?? It’s going to be amazing. It’s bunny hills are almost as tall as DB.

I believe X-Base will be nothing more than a walkway to Flight of Fear and the new coaster. They might add a little more theme to it now, but a full blown themed area? Doubt it.

I know you’re all on about expansion, but I have a feeling they have no plans to expand KI out at any time. When was the last time they actually expanded the park? The addition of Action Zone? Even then, that already existed as safari village. I think they will remove and add rides as time goes on. Expanding out does not seem like it’s on CFs ideas for KI

I only feel bad because this will spread like wildfire all over social media and the news. Enthusiasts going back and forth wouldn’t really take away from the awe that the public will get from its announcement. Plastering these plans all over the news and Facebook will take that away.

I just wonder how they’d expand X base. Those leaked plans, if real, show the current maintenance buildings staying. That area is pretty tight right now and it doesn’t seem like there’s much room to grow.

I agree!! I can definitely see them adding a Mack multi launch after 2020. I would love to see a B&M floorless too, like Dominator at KD. I think they will focus on flats and PS, possibly even giving the area the upgrade to camp snoopy in the few years after 2020. I predict another coaster coming in 2024 or 25.

Edit: beastmaster posted the pic of the building before me! I was REALLY little when I went here with my mom. I just remember there was some fake gold, rock candy, and some cool geode slabs you could buy. I actually still have the geode slab we got in like 2003, it’s sitting on my desk right now.

@FUN&ONLY! Whoops, totally forgot Canada’s Wonderland has a giga. Still, out of all the parks in the world, we’re going to be one with a giga. I’m not complaining

It also sucks that they lost both rides around the same time, kind of. Removing many of the elements that made TR unique must have caused a decrease in public interest and ridership. They lost SoB in 2009, then officially lost Crypt in 2011. I’m glad to see the park continue to grow from its movie park days. This new coaster will be great and a significant investment into the park. Cedar Fair is obviously very interested in KI and the fact we’re even getting a giga is amazing. Don’t forget that they own 13 properties and, currently, only 3 have giga coasters. Only 6 exist in the world right now and we will have the 7th.

I agree @Ben43065 and @JAHill, reading back at what I write I feel like it was a little harsh. I haven’t been to many parks. Really just Universal, Disney, KI and CP. Out of those parks, KI is the one with the worst kept theming. Cedar Fair didn’t build those rides with the theming, but it is their job to maintain them now. I hope one day they do at least refurbish AE. FoF is in need of some major renovation, but I think it’s like a time capsule back to the 90s. I love seeing those old computers.

I gave them a 2/5. Sure, they're taking steps in the right direction, but it's taken them way too long to realize things were looking bad. The glockenspiel is great, I-Street is great, but theming everywhere else seems to have fallen apart. Adventure Express looks abysmal. It's falling apart everywhere. The fake rock is peeling in the tunnels, the arm guys (what are they?) never seem to work properly (eyes not lit up, arms barely moving/not moving at all), the access door is always open and is completely rotten, and the guy dropping the bucket at the end never works. Flight of Fear is okay, but still, there are a TON of lights that have burned out and have never been replaced. The line is also really gross, there is gum EVERYWHERE. The area formerly known as Action Zone is just a cluster of randomness, but I do like how the changed Flight Deck to The Bat to fit in with the scary kind of theme. We all know that Oktoberfest is basically non-existent at this point. The only area with good theming is Rivertown, and I feel that Cedar Fair is always theming coasters and areas to the old west because its easy and things are supposed to look old and worn down, so there is very little maintenance involved. I think they can do much better. I've actually never understood how they could let the theming in AE get the way it has, and Flight of Fear needs work. I know Cedar Fair isn't concerned with keeping themes fresh and in-shape, but it reflects poorly on the park in my opinion.

We appreciate you @IndyGuy4KI! Someone did point out my irony about policing the forums and I apologize for that. I recall someone saying Mystics layout was available because of something to do with WWCs reservoir. The layout is probably not for public view. I have no idea about the specifics, Im just thinking about why they might not have them. The city probably just needs to approve footing/concrete work. They don’t need to know what will be attached to those footings, just the placement of them. So they just have what we’ve seen and not the layout. Could be wrong though, I really have no idea.

I believe the layout to be legit. The anticipation is killing me. It’s only May?? No teasers yet?? Not even footings! (Footers, whatever). Kills me knowing it will all be speculation until we get an announcement in probably early August.
