From what I could see it looks like it'd the same helix as Shambhala at  Port Aventura in Spain.

Yeah, it definitely seems like the ampersand helix from Shambhala.

Anyone know when average time of year official announcements are made?

I remember few months ago someone saying if this is contributed to The Beasts timeline, we should expect announcement on 6-6-19 but if not... any particular month?

    Banshee was August 8th, 2013

Mystic Timbers was July 28th, 2016

I imagine we will see an announcement around that time.

It’s just so coincidental. I really don’t know what to believe.

It really is. Just very odd that the leak would come so suddenly right after the blueprints were released.

I mentioned this before, but nobody answered. Is this generally how blueprints for new rides look? The layout for the new coaster is barely noticeable and muted, while everything else (including the new station) is darker and more detailed. It seems like it would be the other way around...existing stuff should be less prominent than the actual thing being built. Am I wrong? I’m probably wrong.

    Very good point.

You're also forgetting that Toronto is the Greater Horseshoe area, with nearly 9.5M people, also in the Quebec-Windsor corridor (18.4M+ people) and also attracts 43 million visitors a year. The city is also very rich and is growing at about 100-120K a year, so it has a larger audience than pretty much every CF park outside Knotts arguably.

No, I am not forgetting that. It’s pretty clear Toronto is massive, I think everyone knows that. All I was saying was that Kings Island draws in a lot more then just the city limits of Cincinnati.

To be fair (and I'm no fan of that company), they've been investing in it since they took over. From all indications, this will be a big investment, but as the other threads have pointed out—it's not always about that. Sometimes simple things make the most difference. Credit where it's due, CF has poured money into KI in various areas (except food service lol, gtfo with that nonsense).

Never said they haven’t invested in it, I just said that I’m happy to see it..

This may clear things up a bit...

Vitality of market, and viable marketability of product has EVERYTHING to do with decisions on capitol expenditures.

The population in the city limits doesn’t tell nearly the whole story.

Kings Island draws a lot of people from Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Lexington.

  9. Judging by the lack of inversions on that leaked layout (although they could just not be visible) I think it’s probably safe to assume it will be a B&M Hyper/Giga model.

Oh man, I'm sorry. I totally quoted the wrong post. Stuff is moving fast and I'm clicking all over the place.

You’re fine. My head hurts just trying to keep up with everything.

But don't forget that giga has still not been confirmed. People have done the math, but these drawings have not been confirmed either

I never said a Giga was confirmed once, all I have said was that it would be odd for Cedar Fair to get another one that would be smaller (based upon that layout) and still very costly. Please reread my posts.

I keep seeing people say 30 million dollars...but how do you and others know that's what they're spending on this addition?

We don’t. It’s an educated guess based upon the cost of the other two B&M gigas.

Leviathan was 28 million US dollars

Fury 325 was 30 million US dollars

One can only assume a new one would be a similar price.

  13. With everything in mind, it just seems really weird for Cedar Fair to go from Millennium Force and Intimidator 305 to Leviathan and Fury 325 to essentially a scaled up version of Diamondback for 30 million dollars.

The thing that is the most interesting to me is literally 10 minutes after the plans from the city that 2 people got, the entire layout was spoiled. Almost like big brother was watching and waiting to spoil.

I know. As soon as the blueprints are released, somebody comes and immediately posts a layout that they quickly delete right after. Just seems odd to me.

  15. It’s a interesting layout, don’t get me wrong, and although we could be going for Diamondback 2: Electric Boogaloo, something just seems odd about all this to me.

If you looked at a top down view of Dragster, you'd say that's it? After you rode it, you'd think differently.

I have rode it, and I love it. For me, it’s all about the elements included on Dragster, which in its case is the top hat and the spiral drop. Again, the layout is a pretty important part of a ride, as shown in this case. Not sure where the disconnect is on that for you.

I don’t think this is a wing.  There is still giga track at CSF and only KI has been rumored to get one.  No Wing Coaster track at CSF.  I just don’t see KI adding a wing when GateKeeper is only a few years old just up the road, and Thunderbird just down the other way.

Definitely, you have 4 B&M wing coasters within a 360 mile radius of Kings Island. GateKeeper, Thunderbird, Wild Eagle, and X-Flight.
