  1. Ohhh the bottom you see there (747) is the bottom of the turn out of the ampersand element. 735 is the bottom of the drop. This makes it 300 ft.
  2. Hi! Who’s ready for some weekly analysis concerning the land clearing and elevation! Well more so then analysis, I would love your thoughts and opinions! I’ve gone into Google Earth to come up with a 2D Elevation profile of the land under the station, lift hill, first drop, and pullout of our 2020 coaster and I do have some findings. Before getting to that, let me set the elevation that the coaster will be measured from as 740 ft, since this is what is stated in the footer map from the city. Just a quick discription, as you can see, the area by Firehawks plot of land is pretty much level at 740, however beyond that (under the lift hill) there is a “bulge” in the land. The drop footer is interestingly placed near the “top” of that bulge at 748 ft (this is from coordinates from both my no limits ~previously discussed~ model and following along the google earth 2D elevation line) (Posted Eariler — not my photo) The point for which I believe the coaster to bottom out on the first drop and pullout is about 730 ft in elevation. This would mean the net drop would be +5 ft as with most gigas the lowest it can get is about 5 ft above the ground level at that point. This is why my prediction layout indicates a height of 305 ft and a drop of 310 ft. BUT I was thinking, what would it take to have that theorized 323 ft drop?! That would be a net drop of +18 ft. But how is this possible with the ravine literally only being 21 ft below (719 ft elevation) the set 0 point of the coaster? (740 ft) One idea is a trench. I would most definitely love to see a nice Yukon Striker style trench, but if the park isn’t going to spend the extra money to be 330 ft tall, then what makes me think they’d put a trench?! Lol another idea is removing dirt to form a new grade that would allow for the drop! See red line above. With enough dirt removed along with the tree roots, it is entirely possible that the grade is now in this new shape. However based on this image, it appeared the grading shape follows near perfectly with the image above. So with that said, my findings are simple. This coaster will almost definitely be a giga. And if it is, it will certainly not be the “cheap” way with having a sub giga height and then some crazy drop into the ravine. The drop height will maybe be 5-10 ft taller then the actual lift hill. With that said, my height prediction is 300-310 ft and my drop prediction is 305-320 ft, but it will most likely be on the short end and not the tall end of both those ranges. This discussion has basically taken us in a circle and might leave you with more questions then answers. So I have some more for you —What are your thoughts? Is there anything I can clarify? Thanks for reading!
  3. I don’t see how this construction is related to the Giga.
  4. Where exactly is this located?
  5. If you are asking about a POV video, not yet. I’m aiming to have this done by Thursday and Amusement Insiders will probably post it this coming weekend. They do however already have a nice breakdown of the possible coaster layout and stats.
  6. That’s an excellent question. It all depends on how much they modified the land post tree removal. Based on the terrain, pre-tree removal, I found it hard to get the coaster to a 310 ft drop. if this image is to be taken into account, it looks like they “smoothed” the grade from the “north section” of Dinosaurs Alive Path to the ravine. If this is indeed the case, I can see another 10-20 ft added to the drop. So it is entirely possible this coaster has a 323 ft drop as the name Polaris may indicate (being 323 light years away from Earth). Unfortunately, it is more likely the coaster is 285 ft tall with a 301 ft drop (Kings Island will call it a giga still) then it would be 305 ft tall with a 323 ft drop. (This is assuming the lift and drop is identical in shape to fury and is scaled by some factor to “fit it” to the “proper” height. I can go over the math if you’d like, lol However, if this is the steepest giga at 85 degrees we can easily get a 305-315 ft tall coaster with a 315+ ft drop. Considering we will see the lift construction first, before the rest of the coaster takes shape (based on the permit drawings) we will know a LOT more about this coaster in the next 2 months.
  7. Hi ... from the guy who made it ... thank you for your feedback. I plan on modifying this so slightly so it better represents how B&M designs their coasters. As for the ampersand, that is the highest I could make it with out it moving too slowly around the top portion. Based on the “leaked layout” that top section of the ampersand is pretty wide, which leads me to believe it will be moving pretty fast around it. And you’re right. This coaster will be very forceful and relentless for a B&M giga. Less will definitely be more in this case!
  8. I’m probably wrong, but those pictures look like the gray Kings Island Track.
  9. This appears to be track pieces for the drop! If anyone is able to get clear images of this area I can reconstruct the drop in CAD.
  10. Hey I’m gonna just put this here ... enjoy!
  11. Not yet! Will be releasing a POV next week. I’m gonna clean up the tracking a bit more and I want to make supports more accurate!
  12. This is some stats from a No Limits Concept I did based on the possible layout. It’s actuslly pretty fun if you ask me! Better then Leviathan if this is the case!
  13. Best (unpowered) element on a roller coaster!
  14. I fully expect the Kings Island Giga to be one of the best coasters in the world. In its present form, per the leaked layout and footer drawings, I make the following prediction: Height: 305 ft Drop: 310 ft Max Speed: 94 mph Length: 5,250 ft This coaster will be shorter in duration and length then Fury, however there’s no way one can say it’s not in the same category. This coaster will be forceful (for a B&M) and will be relentless. All of B&M’s highlight elements will be in it. I expect a reverse treble clef and an ampersand along with ejector and floater hills. Again, just because it’s shorter, doesn’t mean it’s not as good as Fury. In fact many complain about the pacing of Fury and that the helix is almost pointless. For this coaster, pacing won’t be an issue. After 45-50 seconds of ride time (drop to break) this new coaster will leave you out of breath, wondering what the he** just happened. Don’t be discouraged y’all! Kings Island is going to get one of the best coasters in the world. No it may not be the 7000 ft long 350 ft tall “beast unleashed” y’all were hoping for, however this coaster will still be a wonderful attraction and the parks best coaster for years to come! #fiveIsALIVE #Polaris305
  15. Has anyone gone to Claremont Steel factory recently? Track color changes? (Any hint to the paint scheme?)
  16. Kings Island Giga confirmed!
  17. Is there any amusement park in the world that has 2 hypers made by the same manufacturer?
  18. Can we assume based on the plans that this is going to be a giga? That’s the question.
  19. Wish someone from the park would come out and just say the leaked layout is fake, and they got something way better and are going to break records!
  20. Is anyone up for going to City Hall to view what ever plans they have? I’m sure there has been more drawings submitted in the last few weeks.
  21. Keep in mind Leviathan’s lift angle is 38 degrees if I’m not mistaken.
  22. Hi y’all I’ve been mulling over these plans for a while! And I’ve come up with some unofficial predictions. I think this will be the steepest B&M Hyper / Giga Ever. 84 degree drop. This will enable a height of 305 ft and I expect the drop to be 323 ft. (Polaris being 323 light years away) ... More predictions and maybe a few No Limits renders to come. Credibility: Transmission Line Construction Engineer, Graphic Designer, Enthusiast, No Limits Nut
  23. If the city of mason plans are to be believed, this is definitely a B&M Mega Coaster Model. Trains will be similar or identical to Fury 325 / Mako. I am making this claim based on the plans for the maintenance shed and the track spacing.
  24. Great work! Where did you get those fury side profile pictures?
  25. 100% agree! You can get an insane ride for the same price!
