  1. People in this thread actually about to debate the calculators accuracy based on only one decimal place being seen... we don't know the full story yet. Could be 300.91
  2. if I'm not mistaken, DB second row seats are inset from the first row a bit. from the rear this would look the outer seats overlapping the inner seats a bit.
  3. The attendants at Banshees gift shop never paid attention to the store and along with all the people standing around looking at the pics.. I thought multiple times about how easy it would be for someone to walk out of there with a free shirt.
  4. I facepalm every time I see a family of 4, each person with a backpack, woman with huge purses.. and then they get mad they can't bring them to the station. I can go all day there with just my phone and wallet. Why bring all that extra junk. Topic for a new thread maybe.
  5. New trains have to go through more testing than new track design.. It takes years to get new trains up and running. I keep mentioning RMC Trex, and one of the reasons there isn't one yet is because they're still developing the trains.. it's been 4 years now.
  6. I was trying to figure out if it's a chain lift or cable lift. My guess is chain just to keep it simple. I happen to think all new steel coasters should have a cable lift.. why not? And yes launched lift hills are possible, Lightning Rod and Maverick have them, as well as a few others across the pond..
  7. I assume that new compressor building is to solely power the one single trim brake before the helix?..
  8. I feel like if Kings Island gets an RMC, it's going to be a T-Rex. KI already has the most wooden coaster track in the world. and if they do a wood or hybrid and it doesn't live up to the same standard as SV.. this forum would literally explode lol. 4-5 years from now would be about the time RMC would be wanting to mass roll out the T-REX also.
  9. That was my thought also, Will probably have the same grey, white, and blue color theme. They just painted that building across from FOF the same. A coaster with white track, grey supports, and blue trains maybe.. That would look quite good I think. And tie into blue racer right next door also Has anyone done any figuring yet to see if the track piece numbers on the plan match up with anything seen at Clermont Steel?
  10. I think anyway, Cedar Fair is putting belts on all of it's coasters now regardless of if it needs them or not.
  11. 95% of the people at the park don't know the difference between The Beast and Diamond back lol. Can't tell how many times I've heard people say.. "Oh that's The Beast" ... pointing at DB. Yes the GP doesn't care, a coaster is a coaster. They can advertise it simply as "Our new 2020 coaster" and it will bring people, lots of people.
  12. According to these plans, Flight of Fears new line will be longer than the new giga.. I've seen the outside line full, but then you get inside an they're not using any of the inside switchbacks. Maybe they're expecting long lines, because maybe, they're going to do something with FOF also??
  13. I assume they're only made public once they're actually approved and not just turned in.
  14. i was hoping for taller, 30 inches.. pshhhh
  15. Yep.. that means it's time for something else to be leaked, or more plans to be found.
  16. the coaster footers are also square / rectangle which no one seemed to notice or catch..
  17. There would still be three trains even if there was no MCBR. One on the course, one on the brake run, one in the station. The brake run would just have two block sections, which most B&M's do already anyway. If nothing else, they would want three and have one as a backup if one goes down. Banshee has no MCBR and three trains.. It would work the same way.
  18. It's probably gonna be 299' high with a 299' drop.. and we'll have to wait another 10 years for our giga. Maybe someone should head down to Clermont Steel with a few cases of beer and see who's willing to talk lol.
  19. Even slabs need footers otherwise the concrete would just break around the edges when the building, slab, or ground shifts. Usually for post beam construction, the building will go on the footers alone and the slab will be floating. This reduces the chances of the concrete slab cracking as the building and the slab can move independently.
  20. Now I can tell for sure this is what I said earlier.. just a post and beam shed / pole barn
  21. Everyone also keep an eye on the trucks for company names. I would expect Middleton Construction to be doing the footers for the new coaster. Perkins and Carmack were also mentioned on the Notice of Commencement and they seem to do pole barns / post beam construction mostly.
  22. This looks like the starting of a post and beam shed to me. The gravel is put in first just because it's easier to do without walls up. footers would go around the perimeter and then the posts on top of them. floating concrete floor on top the gravel last. Usually in coaster construction all the footers for station and transfer, storage, and track are put in at the same time. no need to build one thing first and have that in the way of everything else.
  23. It's exactly 5 seconds from the click. I do wonder if they could program this to make it random.
  24. Oh.. interesting. They didn't even bother to repaint it cause I was noticing how rusty it still is (compared to when I rode it last season) lol.
  25. wait, is there a new train? I didn't notice any difference if there is
