I absolutely can't stand when I have a family in front of me....they always slow down which auto slows down the sled for blocking....I get it but I hate it lol.

I need to go back into the store.

There wasnt anyone infront of me. I think I was only person on track, maybe couple people behind me at the start. I think it slowed me down due to speed. I held that baby full pull whole time. Could be my weight 280lbs with too much momentum the sled knew I was going too fast haha

  2. Went to WinterFest last night. Park looked great. We were only there for a couple hours. Kinda busy but not outrageous, still had fun. I couldn't confirm but is Mystic Timbers running 2 trains? If they were I didnt notice much of a reduction on capacity. The line moved pretty quick, could been no Fast Lane making up for it? One nice thing about 2 trains is less waiting in the shed. Seemed like you rolled right into the last part of shed and the show started within a few second.

Some would say it's not a woodie, but a hybrid .

I say Voyage is 100% a woodie. Wood topper track makes it a woodie. Steel support structure has minimal impact on ride experience. It is done for costs and assembly.

According to Dollywood they have not changed the launch speed, it is the same today as it was on opening day, it was never turned down.  The launch only covering 3/4 of the hill is where a lot of impression comes from.  You can feel the train stop accelerating and start slowing once your past the LSM’s as you coast up the hill.

The coast up over hill was a bummer when I rode it. Still stand by my thoughts that the chain lift could be an upgrade.

I really do not see this having much of a negative impact on the ride experience. The launch was far from the best part of the ride.

Originally the launch went up to the top of lift hill right? Then it got changed to about 3/4 of lift hill was launch with a coast over the crest. If the high speed chain lift is actually high speed then this change could be an upgrade.

What is the holdout on announcing the Haunt information online ? Last year, mazes, live entertainment and tricks and treats food was announced on Aug 22, 2022, so what’s the plan? What’s the hold up ? Did someone forget ?

Probably still dont know if they will have enough employees to cover every haunt attraction.

A multi-million dollar addition is cheap? In a time where budget cuts are happening across the chain and at a park that is mostly attended for the water park, I wouldn't say it's cheap...more of a smart investment. I mean a general idea was readily available with approvals being made public and what not. For a park that hasn't had a new ride addition since 2005, making them wait a few more years for an extra $10 million isn't practical, what happens if the economy completely collapses, the park has to close down, the park has a similar fate to 2007 Geauga Lake, etc.? This addition can and will be a boost for attendance to hopefully add additional finances for things down the line.

I am talking about when the time comes for KI's new coaster. I don't care what Dorney gets. Good for them to get a coaster but the next KI coaster better not be super short.

Also I just watched the POV and the ride time is only 30 seconds from drop to brake run.

Another annoyance is when there is clearly nobody in the row to take your spot when the ride ends and instead of just letting you re-ride they have you get off and walk all the way around to get back on.

Especially with White Water Canyon's and The Bat's super long lines. I have been on the ride with no line and when I get back to station I ask to re-ride but they do not allow so have to walk about a half mile to get right back on the ride while multiple empty rafts/trains go around the course.

I vote no wild mouse.  I hate CF wild mouse operations with a burning passion.

The operations on the wild mouse up at Michigan's Adventure was killing me. Waiting for 10 minutes to get off the ride was torture. I think it had 7 cars? 1 loaded ready to go up lift, 1 unloaded in station, 1 unloading in station and the rest stacked up on the brake run.

Was going to make a new thread but I found this one...

When we last visited Great Wolf Lodge in early December 2022 the Hydro Plunge water coaster was closed for good and about half of it ripped out.

There was signage all over the waterpark about a new attraction coming to replace it in spring 2023.

Has anyone heard anything about this project or can share pictures?

Hopefully another water coaster cause that ride was fun. Two good drops and got some speed at the end. Id be fine with the exact same layout. What sections were ripped out? Was it just the lift hills? They could be just rebuilding the lift sections if so.

So that's a part of the PROSlide FlyingSAUCER water coasters, the design is to create a fast paced turn that gives a similar thrill to a bowl slide. It is 100% an element choice by the park, and honestly I've enjoyed every one that I have been on YTD. It is more akin to having inversions or having airtime on certain coasters, water coasters have differing elements to deliver to. Note though that WhiteWater West currently does not have a product like the FlyingSAUCER.

I just dont see the point of the disk. The rafts never leave the outside of the turn. Seems like extra material and a waste. Maybe its for strength? Maybe just for the experience of going around the disk makes you feel like you are going faster? Just a odd design to me.

Hmmmm anyone know how long this has been around? Interesting that this kinda hints at Beast related things. CAREFULLY read the copy  ESPECIALLY the part about projects in NC AND SC that show the direction of the company (meaning this can’t be that old since it seems to reference comments they have made about the new project at Carrowinds catering to all 5 senses. And hmmmmm what’s that part about TOPSPIN STRUCTURES???? 2023 might be an “off” year, but methinks sone wheels are turning

Honestly I don't think you'll be able to ride anything but Racer and The Beast, maybe Adventure Express? If you love roller coasters use this as motivation to change your lifestyle habits so you can lose weight and enjoy things like riding awesome roller coasters!

Nah this guy doesnt need to bring you down OP. I think you will be able to ride everything except for Flight of Fear. The Bat 100% you will fit. Banshee has the bigger seat row. Use the test seat infront of Orion or Diamondback and have someone help push it close to get green light like the ride op will do. For Orion and most other rides be the first to enter the ride row for 2 reasons. 1- so you are on the outside right seat to make it easier for ride op to push on restraint and 2 - if you dont fit you can just get up and leave real quick out the exit without having to make anyone else get up.

Dont be discouraged if you dont fit on a few rides, there is plenty of rides you will for sure fit and you will have a great time regardless.

the closest thing to a water coaster is mondo monsoon. Great wolf next store has 2 decent ones. Not huge but decent for an inside park. Yes i visit the water park nearly trip there in the summer.

I dont know if you know what a water coaster is. They use magnets or water jets to add propulsion to the raft to be able to go up hill and extend the length of the ride. Mondo does not do that. It is a giant funnel and Great Wolf Lodge only has 1 water coaster with 2.5 uphill sections. I say 2 and a half because the 3rd one is very small and only adds propulsion if needed due to a slow moving raft.
