  1. In the short term maybe they could put another Haunt there or use it for Winterfest? I've thought for a while now that the 2 prime locations for the next big coaster after Orion would either be The Vortex plot or The Bat Plot of land. The Bat would free up unused SOB land. Either way I don't like this trend of coasters leaving and there is at least 2 more that may be "near the end of their service life". The Bat and Invertigo Speaking of Vortex. After noticing how bad the paint was and the chaser lights on the lift hill not working right this summer I just had a feeling the park knew its days were numbered. So that is perhaps why they did not paint it or fix the lights.
  2. I was there Sept 13. Got there early enough to park near GateKeeper. Walked down the boardwalk to resort entrance. I guess due to this new system I was standing at Steel Vengeance 5 minutes before 5pm and I had 3 rides on it by 5:30pm. That is where the good news ends because they had just shut down Maverick and thunderstorm started.
  3. I really wish the running rule was enforced. Except for maybe rope drop. Don't ruin running of the bulls. I was at Kings Island 4th of July weekend and a thunderstorm came up one of those days. Seems like lots of kids started running like mad for no reason. running into me too. I find that annoying. Normally someone bumps into me fine I don't care it happens. But running for no reason during a storm its just stupid.
  4. This seems to be a double post as the question was posted on another thread and answered by 2 people.
  5. I went Last year on Friday and Saturday the second Haunt weekend so this same weekend. Friday Night Mystic and Diamond back up to 45 minutes and nothing else had long lines. Saturday night lines were longer. There was 50 thousand people there and the weather was nice. This coming weekend not only is the weather gonna be warmer but its gonna be insanely hot for this time of year and with all the hype for Beast 40 all year night ride lines have been longer on it than anything else in the park.
  6. I stayed at that Econolodge this past Sept 13th and 14th. I found a deal and got it for like $70 a night. Clean newly renovated rooms and the beds are not hard. But the walls seem very thin. I was woke up at about 7am and could hear everything going on in the bathroom next door. I should not be able to hear or be woken up by the neighbors shower. I will not stay here again. I wanted to try Seacrest as I have heard good things but it was booked solid.
  7. I love Banshee but do not like how tight the restraints are. Still rather have that over the Raptor and Rougarou head bang. That said I love Raptor but that final turn into the brake has got rather rough. Maybe I'm crazy but I love Rougarou and I hated Mantis. I don't care for standups. Sometimes Rougarou seems smooth and sometimes not. I try to hold my head to one side if its too jerky, Afterburn I only rode twice and while somehow still being smooth and with the old restraints I just think we have 3 better B&M invert/floorless coasters here at home.
  8. Does anybody know when the parking lot opens on Fridays and Saturdays during Haunt?
  9. I think the scare zones all opened at 6pm last year and this year the website has them listed as opening at 8pm. Maybe I'm wrong. I know the opening ceremony was 6pm. None of the Maze times have been changed except maybe Wolfpack. It has no time listed and while it opened at 6 last year, it really should be 8pm due to the tarp letting all the light in.
  10. Cold is not the issue and nobody said it was. The post I quoted was implying that The Flight of Fear was too expensive to run. It is likely due to the Orion construction.
  11. If expense was really the reason then Kings Island/Cedar Fair would not have invested all that money summer 2018 insulating the Flight of Fear building so they could heat it and run the ride in freezing weather.
  12. You should be able to go to Winterfest 26 times this year with a gold pass.
  13. Kings Island doesn't do the gold/platinum early entry on Fridays during Haunt like Cedar Point does.
  14. Firehawk was an amazing ride at night. During the day in the hot blazing sun not so much.
  15. Its been listed as a 7pm opening all year and the first Sat of Haunt was the same last year. Its a real shame. That is the reason why I did not go to Haunt opening weekend last year and why I will not this year either. I wait until weekend number 2. I wish they would put the general public first. A passholder sneak Haunt preview or Winterfest preview would be real nice but nope. Buyouts are more important to Cedar Fair.
  16. Looks like no Flight of Fear this year during Winterfest. I wonder why they decided not to run that. It was great to get out of the cold.
  17. Ok so I don't see a thread for this yet and King's Island finally has Winterfest hours posted on the calendar.
  18. Would you know if someone has a park buyout during the day on Sat Sept 21? Or why it opens at 7pm every year for the first Haunt Sat instead of 11am.
  19. This weekend and next are possible buyout days.
  20. I've been to Kings Island 9 times this year and most of those nights the fountain was not shooting water with the fireworks. April 19/20 it was working but not fully yet. I think during Coasterstock it was working properly. I went again July 4-6 and again no fountain water shooting with fireworks. Aug 16 the same.
  21. Cedar Fair owned the parks in 2009 so what you say can not be true.
  22. I renewed my Platinum on Aug 16 and I have the free fastlane but the free bring a friend ticket didn't show up anywhere. I even emailed Kings Island and all they did was reply back with what seems like a message a bot would send. You know where it looks like they looked for key words or phrases and did not really read the email. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. There is even a chance the employee who scanned my card used the free bring a friend for myself instead of using the platinum. The app does say 0 visits for 2019 and it should say 9.
  23. I did not even give this any thought until I saw the same question being asked on Kings Island's own twitter page. Then I went to their website where it just says Gold pass and does not mention anything about a Platinum pass. Last year the perks applied to either pass. I may not be renewing my Platinum this weekend after all. I may wait to see what Cedar Point offers.
  24. I get every Friday and Saturday off. Work the rest of the week. That's when it gets real busy. It gets nuts during Haunt. Fastlane Plus for me was well worth it. Even on a slow day say July 4. Take that day for example when I got there Beast was walk on but as it got later and more people came and once the waterpark closed at 8pm the dry side got busy. I love my night rides more than anything else. I see it as money well spent if I get to marathon my favorite rides for 2-4 hours at night. With the new Coaster next year it will really be worth buying again for me even though I know the price will go up.
  25. I thankfully haven't experienced anything that bad at Kings Island this year. I did however have problems at Carowinds. It seemed like many of the employees there did not speak or understand English very well. There was one guy who I had to keep saying mac and cheese over and over and he just kept staring at me. Another lady was confused when she tried to tell me the ride was down when I pointed out the train with people on it running. Another dude gave me a blank stare and a shrug when I asked if he knew what time it was. It was 9pm + my phone in a locker and I needed to time things just right to get my Fury night rides in.
