  1. OK, I guess I just need to buy them the day before we go. Thanks
  2. I was getting ready to buy tickets for a friend and I but not sure the exact day we were going. It looks like you have to buy them for the specific day now. Is this correct? WHat if it ends up raining that day and want to go another day? Do you loose all the money? I know it use to be you buy a ticket and go whatever day you wanted. It is making me select a specific day though.
  3. So sad, She has decided to pull out. It sank in that she is moving 3 hours away from home and she got to scared. I was worried this would happen but figured she would still go. Turns out that she will not be working there. As much as I really wanted her to get this experience, she feels she is just not ready. I even offered to come every day she has off for the first 3 weeks but she is just to scared. I can't thank you all enough for the help.
  4. It appears that I will be making a few trips to Kings Island this year to visit my daughter on some of her days off! I think I will go ahead and get season passes for my wife, other daughter and myself. If she gets the free tickets she can give those to whoever she wants and not feel obligated to give them to us. Thanks again for all the help with this. She has got it from here. She is so excited. She also knows there will be hard work and long hours at times. SHe says she is ready for it, lol. I told her that her feet will likely hurt for the first two weeks in ways she didn't know they could hurt.
  5. Lol, Still a waiting game. Last week they set up a phone interview with her for today since we are 3 hours away. She had an inpersion interview setup for today but was canceled because they set up the phone interview. They called her and said that ride operators have to apply in person only. Looks like we are driving over Saturday. I just fear that the housing will not be available by the time this all works out. Maybe I should help her explore other housing options as a backup. Just not sure she could find something affordable for a seasonal position right out of High School. I mostly want the life experiences for her in this but she has to have something left after all the expenses. I guess the process will be some experience even if it don't work out. Thanks for listening, lol. Just excited for her.
  6. She is supposed to have a phone interview today. Super proud dad! Even if it don't work out she is sure trying and excited about it. I wish I could do it myself for a season.
  7. Never thought about that but her heart is set on Kings Island I suspect. She grew up going there and the park is somewhat like family to us. She has an interview coming up and is working through the process.
  8. Is there a way she can call to back up the application? If she can't get in the housing she can't do this at all. We live 3 hours away. She is excited about it and has her hopes up now so I hope it works out for her. My wife and I would not have hurt feelings, lol. Hard to let go of them even if it is only for the season.
  9. It's official, she has applied for the job. We tried to look at the application to apply for the housing just to see what the questions would be but it will not let us in. We were not going to apply till she has the job but just wanted to see what the application said. I assume they don't give access till after you are accepted for the job?
  10. Thanks for all the help with this. Looks like she is going to fill out the application tomorrow evening and apply for the housing. She wants to apply for a ride operator but also interested in being a lifeguard. Not sure if it expired or not but she was CPR certified. Not sure if that matters. I am very excited for her but also about to cry, lol. Seeing my oldest graduate and move 3 hours away for the summer will kill me. I guess I will have more reason to go to Kings Island, lol every weekend, lol
  11. Great information! Thank you. I am trying not to push her into this and want her to decide on it on her own but I sure hope she does it. I think the experience, and not just the job, would be invaluable.
  12. Thank you! I will let her know. I am not sure how serious she is but she is talking to a friend about it. I assume it would not be that hard to get on? I would think they are like everyone else and can't get enough help. I see they are having a job fair this week? She will not be able to get there this week sadly. Wish we were not 3 hours away.
  13. That is not bad then. I looked it up and for sure walking distance. Can two people share a room and reduce that or is it that price per person even with two in the room? Just out of curiosity, What can they make in a week for a first year 18 year old? I am sure that is a loaded question with far to many options and circumstances. I think she would really enjoy this and learn some valuable life lessons.
  14. My daughter is graduating Highschool in late May and is somewhat interested in working a Summer at Kings Island. I would have my first year after graduating had I thought of it. My question is, does Kings Island have any housing offered to seasonal help? We are 3 hours from the park so she would have to move there for the season if she were to do this. I am not sure they would pay enough to cover housing and all the other expenses for a kid fresh out of Highschool. She has a friend that may try to get on as well so some of the cost could be shared if they were both to do this Thanks
  15. Sorry for taking so long to get back here. Sadly, I have no idea where in the 8 mm film this is located. We have 2 hours worth of film. Not sure you want to do 2 hours worth for this.
  16. How much does that cost to do? I am not sure where on the film it is. I have 2 hours worth 8 mm film
  17. My kids I have no doubt will have the great memories I have from when I was young. My oldest was on The Vortex at 5 years old. We had to put extra socks in her shoes to get the extra 1/4 inch height. After we done it I felt bad, She could not hold her head up from the g force in the double loop. We got off and I thought she was going to hate it but she wanted to ride again. I am willing to bet she was one of the very youngest to ride it. All that said, I desperately want to see the dark ride totally revamped even if it is Peanuts based. Nothing beats the old Hanna Barbera but I also understand they have to cater to what is relevant for todays kids. I have fond memories of both Enchanted Voyage and also the Smurfs. My kids and I have no affection for the dark ride now. It is so nothing to us that I can't even remember its name.
  18. I just found this footage from when my sister and I were young. I thought it was 1981 but now I think it may have been 1979 or 80
  19. Maybe they could combine that land with The Vortex/Bat land and build something big? Not likely but we can hope
  20. I was contacted by several people wanting to purchase these stickers. I have no idea what they are worth but decided to put them on eBay. I do have what I feel is a high opening bid on them but I am ok with keeping them if they are not worth that much. I have had them this long so I can have them that much longer if need be. I have other things from back then also I will list if I can find them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224243831083
  21. These discussions are always fun to watch. Just like my FMX days. You jump a bike or quad 100 foot distance on a kicker ramp and you could be 40+ feet in the air. You jump 100 feet on a tabletop and you are only 10 foot and maybe less in the air. Either way, you jumped 100 feet.
  22. I just told my girls about the water that would spray in the tunnel. They said they want it to come back. Only one cannon was working Monday. The ones closer to the end were not working. I love these rides also. We went on it 5 times and the log ride one time just before we left.
  23. It did not feel like it pulled me over the top like Diamondback does. It for sure went over the top much quicker than the front but I did not feel that strong pull over like Diamondback does. I maybe need to ride it back there again and see
  24. What a great time. The masks suck but other than that we really enjoyed ourselves. Orion is so incredible and is my first giga. Sadly, the wind blew my youngest girls mask down under her nose and half way off her mouth. The picture shows her grabbing it and was funny looking because she had such a concerned look on her face. The sad part is, they would not allow us to have a copy of that picture because the mask was not over her mouth. Even the lady thought it was a great picture because of the concerned look she had. Still what a ride! I wish they didn't cost $30 Million so they could build more, lol Went to Whitewater Canyon and rode it 4 times in a row, my youngest lost her mask and mine broke on our last ride. Went out to get new masks from the car and people were looking at us as if we just killed someone for not having one on. Nobody from the park was a problem, just the mask Nazi public. Went back in and was on Banshee and I felt it was much smoother this year than the end of last year. I was very happy about that. It had a 5 minute wait so we rode it several times in a row. They were assigning seats and we wanted to ride the front seat. We tried to time it so that we could be first in line for a new train but just couldn't get it right. Even the lady assigning seats was trying to help us get the front be she was restricted by her own rules. She was so sweet and a great asset to KI. Wish I got her name. Delirium is always a favorite of ours but the social distancing for that ride really slowed it down and not really worth the wait right now. We later found it had no line so jumped on it again. I could ride this all day long and be happy. The Beast! Will always and forever be my favorite! I was lucky enough to get a middle seat of a car and for sure much smoother. The retracked section was nice as well. I was really happy to see that Viking Fury got some love with new paint. That is a family tradition for us. My girls and I will have memories of them little with me on that ride so will always have a special place in my heart. Lots happened and had such a great time but did have one bad issue. My wife could be a professional cook if not for us deciding for her to be a stay at home mom. She knows food better than most people. We were at Cony BBQ and found that they did not have the tri tips this year so she went with the chicken and I got the BBQ. The BBQ was actually really good! My wife's chicken was WAY under cooked. Had red blood running out of it. I took it back up there and they give me an excuse that some blood vessel popped and was ok, I said we did not want it and wanted to exchange it for the BBQ. The did and no farther problem. They made it right for us. I told my wife what they said and she laughed and said it was just an excuse to make me happy because it was not done. I know nothing about food myself but happy that they made it right.
