  1. I don't forsee them doing any "major" changes to OC any time in the near future. The whole purpose of OC is to give the feeling of being at Coney Island. It simply wouldn't be that way without Monster, or Scrambler, or Dogems. If you took any ride out of Coney right now it would definately have a major impact on the entire area beacuse the area as a whole just seems to flow together.
  2. I think a character breakfast would be great especially on the mornings when HB has early rides. They could open up the International Restaurant and have it up there with all the characters from HB and Nickolodeon.
  3. I keep heaing of the deeper pockets, yet I can't see where the money is being spent. The park is not even close to being as clean as it was under KI. Rides do not operate because of lack of operators. No sit-down restaurant, or resort tied in with PKI. With Viacom-type money, you would have to think that some of the "little" things would be done to make the PKI experiance that much more enjoyable. Actually to be honest last year the park was cleanest it has been in a very long time. Rides rarely shut down because of lack off operators. Usually it is because of mechanical reasons or safety reasons that the rides shut down. While Paramount buying the park did cause some downs it also allowed the park to explore new rides thanks to the "deep pockets" of Paramount.
  4. Where is your favorite place in the park just sit back and relax? Mine would have to be in the evening when everyone is leaving te park after the fireworks. I like to just sit in one of the chairs along International Street and listen to the fountain as the movie music plays over the speakers. Its very relaxing.
  5. If I recall KI did used to have such a ride. It was the Enchanted Voyage into the Smurf Village. Probably the most famous and most popular ride (that wasn't a coaster) at King's Island before it was bought by Paramount. I remember riding this when I was younger, and I still hear guests talk about it today about how much they loved it. To have a ride similar to this would be great for the park in general. It would bring back a part of the past that people loved. If they do decide to do this it would probably wouldn't be the Smurfs but themed after another paramount movie or Nickelodeon show.
  6. I wouldn't call it a race, but I would definitely say that the new technology will be in flat rides. Let's face it, theres only so much you can do with a coaster before it becomes so extreme that the all the guests riding are passing out. Obviously there will always be options for flat rides to do this, that, and whatever else they can think of. I would anticipate a strong interest in flat rides by major parks over the next 10 years or so. With a coaster added in ever 4-5 years to keep the coaster enthusiasts happy.
  7. Lately it seems as though the park has pulled out of the Coaster Wars and invested in more family oriented rides. Obviously the addition of SDAHC was aimed at the younger children, while Delirium was for the teenagers and adults. It seems as though the park is leaning toward the family approach which would make them a little more like Walt Disney World. However PKI has a long way to go on if they want to even compete with Disney's expertise in theming. Thats one thing our beloved PKI must learn to do is keep up the theming and not let it deteriorate over the years.
  8. Couldn't have said it better myself. Everyone who complains wants SOB to be smooth like Face Off or Vortex but here is a news flash, SOB IS A WOODEN COASTER. Wooden Coasters are suppossed to throw you around and seem like they will fly off the track. Thats what makes our beloved woodies so popular. True the seats could be a little larger for our taller guests. But to simply attack the coaster and say it sucks because it jerks u around to much is ludacris. If its to rough for you then dont ride, no one is holding a gun to your head. I have ridden in almost every seat and I have never had a problem with it tossing me around to the point where it hurt.
  9. I can't believe that anyone would think that AE would be the next coaster to go. The ride has the best capacity out of all the coasters in the park. The ride is efficient, I don't know of anyone who has waited in line for over 25 mins when the line has been full and they are running 3 trains. To do away with this ride would be devastating because it is a good ride for all members of the family.
