  1. Looks like they have put together quite a few lift hill supports. You can see them all laying together near the bottom of the big drop. There are also quite a few supports that have been put together behind the break run. Once the other two cranes are built and thee supports are all put together, there is gonna be an amazing day of seeing the lift hill go up. Perhaps sometime next week even. This is really fun to watch.
  2. The ONLY bad thing about this is that with it's location the poor racer is gonna be a moody cus what with its developing size-related psychological issues. Perhaps it will get little dog syndrome and be just gnarly in the coming years. The poor thing, what was once the biggest coaster in the whole WIDE world (!!), is on the verge of getting absolutely dwarfed! But I love that you filled that in!. I was trying to visualize this.
  3. Does anyone know if they have ever clocked The Beast at multiple spots and how it might compare to other coasters? It seems like it just gather steam at least through 2/3 of the ride its seemingly getting faster and faster. I'd love to know how it measures in that dept compared to other coaster, particularly wood coasters. I have never road El Toro, the Voyage or the other highly touted wooden coasters, but they all seem to be trying to do so many things along the way to perhaps outdo The Beast or to impress the rider and that is totally cool. Its kinda like they are Eddie Van Halen and The Beast is Link Wray or Jimmy Page or some old Bluesman like Albert King, who just plays 3 notes that sound better than Stevie Ray Vaughan, who I dig, but when they play together, Stevie Ray is trying to impress his hero Albert, who plays way less notes and just kills on them and doesn't even try. Sorry for that analogy...I'm a guitarist. But The Beast doesn't even have to try for all those maneuvers and all that. One chord is great, two chords is cool, three chords is Jazz. That is why The Beast will always, always be the King. Its the Motorhead of Roller Coasters. If it moves it next door, your lawn might die. I kinda wish it had no brakes though....good lord would that be even better!!
  4. When I was on The Beast night run on Saturday I pointed out that Orion constellation was exactly where they are building the Coaster!! Glad someone else saw that! Also, on The Beast, DB, Mystic Timbers, and Racers they seem to have made a decision to make it so you can just stare at the moon on the lift hill! Fantastic stuff Kings Island!! I mean the view on Sat night was gobsmacking. edit; Add Orion lift hill to the moon staring view on lift hill!! Does KI win the lift hill moon show or what??!
  5. Totally off the poll, but I'll add my overall list is basically changing but 1 Beast 2a Banshee 2b Mystic Timbers 4 Diamondback 5 Racer (Backwards 4ever....god I wish they would do it again!) 6 Flight of Fear 7 Adventure Express at night 8 Stunt Driver 9 The Bat 11 Adventure Express at day 10 Beastie (Love the old name 4ev!) 11 Invertigo (Very scary on the lift hill and a crazy ride, but I don't really care for it too much at all.) Never rode orginal Bat or Screamin Demon that I can remember . Vortex would slot in before Stunt Driver or maybe tie with Flight of Fear. Son of Beast would slot in a tie with Banshee or right behind it but my wife hated its guts. It appealed to me as a former wrestler. It looked amazing and was the out of control ride I gravitate towards. King Cobra would be ahead of Adventure Express at day, but not at night, behind the existing Bat and perhaps even behind Beastie...it didn't do a whole lot and wasn't that fast. I must be forgetting a coaster or 2 am I? ANd
  6. Agree. I would think the two will put up the lift hill, while the one in the parking lot will begin to build another across the way or something like that. Then again, I am learning a lot watching this go down. I think once the 2nd monster crane is built, the hill starts going up.
  7. It kinda seems they are waiting on more pieces of the crane to arrive now.
  8. 1.Beast at night 2.Beast 3. Banshee 4. Diamondback which I still really love.
  9. That seems about right. I'd say the end of the week myself.
  10. Things have slowed a little, its probably lunch!
  11. I like the idea of an RMC behind Orion either where SoB's large helix was and kinda running along the river. Or still using the river but kinda behind Orion but to the South. Then again it'd be amazing where Vortex is with the entrance near that batwing. I'll take an RMC anywhere please. An RMC, a Giga, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, The Beast, Banshee, The Racers (Bring back Backwards please!!), and Flight of Fear is a world-class line-up. If we were to get a wing coaster or a Dive coaster, I would take out Face off or whatever its called now and Amazon Falls (Same deal!) and use that area and along the front/ north area.
  12. Count me as someone who wants another woodie, or hybrid. I really really love RMCS and plan to go visit other parks to ride them. If KI got one that was a real killer...not necessarily better than Steal Vengeance, but on par and into the woods, then I'd have no need to spend money at any other parks honestly. The giga and the RMC plus what we already have would go a long way to keeping all my money at KI, rather than small excursions to Dollywood and Holidayworld or the like. I also simply love RMCs. I'd love to see it called Son of Beast...the other one's lost twin brother. Send it out into the woods either behind/ next to Orion to North or South, depending on terrains and stuff.
  13. Thanks! I need to to a proper introduction at some point. But a KI lover for 30+ years now. Platinum pass and will be there at least 20 times next year.
  14. My first post here. So hello! Watching this and fascinated. It's like watching the Dozers from Fraggle Rock. These guys are getting it done today! I'd say that lift hill might be done next week if not sooner. It's gonna be awesome!
