I specifically remember hugging a ride op when I was an awkward teen back in 2012. Poor guy was like a deer in headlights. Just another day on The Beast crew, I suppose.

If memory serves me correctly the Diamondback cam was the first put into operation when they started building it in the winter of 2008. I believe the other ones came online later during the construction of their rides. I'd need to be backed up though. I'm not entirely certain.

They are newer and no water has gotten inside.

The seasonal weather does effect moisture conditions in everything not climate controlled.

I'd say the massive empty lot is gonna be an overwhelmingly bigger eyesore than the Victorian station.

It's historic to the park and roller coaster advancement as a whole. It's on the property and owned by the park, therefore it is completely valid to say that the historical value of the station offers significant reason for Cedar Fair to keep it.

I'm not sure why it matters what those outside of the industry think when the park literally is the industry. If Cedar Fair considers it to be of historical value to their park, why would it be hard to believe that they would want to keep it for such a sentiment? Keep in mind that this is a company that has still kept the Son of Beast station after 10 years of being inactive.

It housed the world's first suspended roller coaster. I think that's a pretty big piece to amusement park history personally.

Yes, King's Island will one day change owners or file for bankruptcy and The Beast will eventually either rot away from neglect or be torn to pieces by an incompetent entity. It's just how it goes. Could be a hundred years from now. Could be a thousand. It's definitely gonna happen though.
