  1. I think part of the issue here is, we don’t know if something is leaving or something already gone is coming back. The other problem is if they replace it with something similar is it really leaving or just a play on words?
  2. BLST is much newer than the other 2 coasters. I suspect FoF will last longer than most coasters, as it isn’t constantly exposed to the elements. There has to be a limit on its wear and tear since it’s inside.
  3. KK doesn’t have the cash flow KI does and they’ve had other second-hand coasters.
  4. This does make for an interesting thought. Maybe instead of removing something, it’s about something that is already gone? Instead of a funeral, time to bring something back from the dead? The SoB tombstone is near there...
  5. Current Ride: Diamondback All time for me: Son of Beast (the crate was gigantic!)
  6. Not if the plans are for 2020. They have an entire year to do anything in regards to those items.
  7. They’re not going to remove The Beast. Without it, there is no Kings Island. EDIT: GCI could always refurbish it, without really killing it off and add another lift hill and more track...
  8. If they removed Invertigo, Congo Falls and Timberwolf would have to go as well to have anything worthwhile in terms of space to build something new. I like the Firehawk/The Bat theory at this point.
  9. It’s a definitely possibility and fits the theme. Two names, bats make noise. Fits the rest of the list as well. Looking at aerial views, you pull that out and SoBs station is instantly usable again. Remember the posters from earlier this year, the ones KI said they didn’t make? Track 5...
  10. If you melted a steel coaster down, you could cast an urn... [emoji848] EDIT: another thought... why are there fresh flowers on one side and dead ones on the other? Because the ride has already “died” once and is dying again?
  11. Three things I noticed in the picture- Tombstone in the background says Son of Beast - I definitely think it’s a coaster Urn is missing it’s front, but it has claws on it Is that the same kind of bucket that grease comes in? That kinda makes me think Firehawk, but who knows...
  12. I like the way you think!!! Makes sense to me.
  13. Here’s what concerns me about this list. Vortex lost 60k riders per year. Extrapolate that out another 4 years. That puts it down another 240k riders. That puts its annual ridership around 760k. That’s a problem for a large expensive coaster. It’s on par with Firehawk and BLST.
  14. Never say never. If it’s not popular, the point is moot.
  15. That’s a possibility as well. Did it ever become less of a maintenance nightmare with better reliability?
  16. That’s what I’m definitely starting to think.
  17. It’s Big It’s Gone though doesn’t seem like Firehawk to me. Makes me think of dumping Vortex or FoF? I doubt it’s FoF, but every time I go to KI, Vortex is essentially a walk-on. Who has the what’s open ride list for Winterfest? EDIT: FoF is open for Winterfest, so not that.
  18. I doubt it. I suspect it’s the whole get concrete work done before winter sets in. It’s not impossible to do in winter, but is more difficult. I am guessing the landscaping part will wait until Spring. EDIT: More thoughts that come to mind- They’ll need local fuel storage if the cars are gasoline. There’s an entire department that deals with just this both underground and above ground tanks. Lots of fire code items to deal with as well as the fuel itself. Whatever maintenance area they have to build for the cars. There’s a lot that still has to happen for this ride. While they can physically build it in a relatively short amount of time, the background stuff is going to take the longest to deal with. Employee training for this ride will be a huge deal especially if they have to hire a few small engine mechanics to keep it all running.
  19. I suspect that’s because it was quickly deteriorating to no longer accessible. It would have cost way more to not be ADA compliant in the parking area, instead of just repaving it.
  20. On normal operating days, it’s not busy back there. With just WindSeeker & Vortex’s exit it’s very calm. I suspect it will be just fine.
  21. I’m guessing they will try to keep the trees, if they can do it without removing them to deal with utilities. Those trees look great. Perfect natural setting.
  22. I figure most will find this interesting. The killer here is, Android phones continue to plummet in value. The Pixel 2 has lost 75% of its value since release. The original MSRP on the Pixel 2 is $749.00. The reality is, they are selling it for less because of its age, not the device price itself. Here’s the article. https://bgr.com/2018/09/06/iphone-x-vs-iphone-xs-price-value-release-date/
  23. Who knows. I wonder if major utilities are buried underneath the walkways of Coney Mall? That might explain some of that thought process and positioning it there.
