  1. No announcements today from the state, try again Thursday hopefully.
  2. If they allow FL, depending on the ride they might be able to jump in the regular queue to get on one of the next cycles, or get say, 90% reduced wait time in a virtual queue
  3. Is this the first six flags park to announce a date?
  4. Not sure about the capacity number, but I do know that both Kings Island and Kings Dominion only shipped with 3 trains each. The ride probably couldn't utilize 4 trains anyways without a train stopping on the midcourse frequently, which would detract from the ride. I doubt a 4th train would improve capacity all that much since capacity of FoF is limited by how often the cars can load/launch. I could see a 3rd train helping though since the station does sit empty a little bit of the time.
  5. What day did Cedar Point hit capacity? Cause I remember I went there one weekend in October and there were 2-3 hour waits for everything and 4-4.5hr for SV. I went during my Universities fall break Oct. 10-13 I thought at the time it was just a bit busy cause of the fall break for everyone, but I figured it was fairly normal for a weekend in October.
  6. Yeah, I know the unload station can sit empty for a good bit of time, would be nice to add a 3rd train so it can roll into the station after the first train clears the mid-course and the 2nd is able to launch. I think FoF is technically able to support 4 trains in 5 block sections, but I believe they only ever shipped with 3 trains. They only have 2 trains at a time as the 3rd is in the maintenance shed when it is it's year to get refurbished.
  7. Is there? they both mean to hang below the track. The only difference I can see is when you're referring to an arrow suspended swinging coaster, but even then it has swinging in the model name to differentiate it.
  8. I know it won't happen, but it would be nice if they would stick a 3rd train on Flight of Fear to increase capacity. It already has pretty dreadful capacity, and it's gonna get hit even harder now with more people in that area.
  9. Don't forget Gravity Group, Gerstlauer, Mack, Arrow, Morgan, S&S, and the like. Also, 2 things from the list I didn't think were as accurate. Suspended and inverted coasters are the same thing, shouldn't need 2 categories. I've never heard the word Boomerang described as an element, it's always been in reference to one of the many Vekoma Boomerangs. Maybe someone should make a coaster dictionary lol. Could be searchable for what you want
  10. Expand Oktoberfest into Action Zone, don't even have to change the names on the coasters (after you get rid of Invertigo ofc) EDIT: Forgot to mention the point lol. Can add a lot more trees and shrubs to Action Zone
  11. That area was all concrete to begin with even before construction. Probably going to stay that way.
  12. Makes sense, if you make the cost of a mask $2-3, then it'll encourage people to bring their own. Make it $5-10 and it helps recoup the costs of adjusting the park to become more covid friendly
  13. That's a shame, I was hoping we would get an announcement this week, but it seems that it might come in the following week. July 1st is looking more and more likely now. If that's the case, I may take a trip out to Holiday World here.
  14. The zoo is definately a favorite date spot of mine, got a gold pass so me and the gf can go whenever. Shame that the manatees and reptiles will be closed, I always liked stopping by there and seeing if the "statues" of alligators would move or not.
  15. It doesn't really take all that much effort to inspect a ride. Maintinence does most of the job for them, the inspector just has to sign off saying it's good to go. Side note: I still don't understand why the dept of agriculture is in charge of inspecting rollercoasters. Should probably be ODOT imo
  16. From my experience, the park has projected attendance numbers for any given day, and those numbers are generally within 1-2000 of what's estimated. So pretty accurate. If weather determines that the park might not have as many people that day, supervisors would call employees telling them not to come in. Or send them home if they're already there.
  17. No updates on amusement parks today. Pretty light on reopening announcements.
  18. Wonder if the ridership of flats is going to go up since they probably won't utilize a virtual queue since their lines are so small anyway
  19. They probably are training supervisory staff on how to operate the coaster. It would make sense to cross train supervisors on the new ride if they need to get sent there from time to time.
  20. That's a thought, it would be a way to shift the burden of hiring more staff, I don't see this being implemented, but maybe the park is thinking of doing something along these lines.
  21. To be honest, really fits with the truck theme, and could be a fun way to add more theming to the shed.
  22. That's why it runs through the dryer first silly
  23. That's what I mean, send half the trains through empty and then have a manual activation for each train. Would probably be more trouble than it's worth. Another idea could be to send the trains through and instead of using a car wash, have sanitizers right before the train goes in the station to give it a wipe down while the other train is loading that's in the station.
  24. I kinda like the idea of a outside seats only policy. If you block off the middle seats, then that would allow for less cleaning required. One thing I wonder if the park considered is to run the trains at full capacity, but to put up a sort of sprayer in the break run so that they could dispatch an empty train to get sprayed after each cycle. Would reduce capacity, but it would allow for a more consistent cleaning.
  25. Yes, I will volunteer to be a test subject. I would be the perfect participant too, you could just check the restraints once on me, and then just keep cycling it through the station. I'd be A-ok with that.
