  1. Kentucky Kingdom would have a better shot at getting either a space shot or turbo drop from S&S. with it being a completely different firm, and totally different style of ride, the clientèle would me more likely to ride this attraction. Am I the only one who thinks the shade structure from S.T.O.P. looks tacky in the Looney Tunes area?
  2. know what I'd like? a traditional Hyper... like Magnum XL-200... yeah with G-Force you can actually feel... and AIRTIME!
  3. Well, not to shoot you down, but the footing looks like the ones for IntaRide or B&M, so don't be upset if its not a B&M Diver, because those are much larger... that footing is not all that large at Antique Photos. I used to walk by Oodles of Beemer footers... on the daily.
  4. for extended active wear, and for hiking... its all about the Crocs, don't worry about the look, its for the feel! when it comes to an active job... or one that you should look good in... Do not buy Sketchers, they rub your feet raw. Sauconys are the best, but they fit snug. Pumas dont bend easily unless you get the suede ones, and they rot easily. new balance is okay, they dont wear out so easily, but they look pretty ugly if you dont get the perfect ones. Adidas is pretty good, but I go my route of black shoes... Airwalk, Payless, Twenty Bucks!!
  5. Are you saying Six Flags constructed Thunder Run and Chang? Because that isn't true They were part of the temptation to buy the park. Chang was bought last minute to entice the buyers that it was a decent park. I say Chang should be preserved with Greezed Lightnin' and because Kentucky Kingdom's days may be numbered. Sure we need to Keep Twisted Twins, and Thunder Run and that "Hang'n'Bang" but those aren't nearly as popular. ::waits for riots to end:: Greezed Lightnin' is a landmark, a treasure from both Marriott Parks. Chang, was built to be the longest and Tallest Stand-Up Roller Coaster, and well, it's number 2 to Riddler's Revenge. so thats still exciting. Twisted Twins... umm, rough much? Thunder Run... nice ride, but again, these are the classic "Hurler" Design... its been done. Roadrunner, Rollerskater? multiple production rides. That about covers it. If King's Island gets Chang... I will move to Cincinnati, and at least attempt to be employed there. Okay, I'm kidding, I live in Western/Southern Kentucky and am tired of the cold here. ...but Chang is still amazing.
  6. Most Asian wooden roller coasters are painted white. this is thought to prevent fires, also the wooden "bents" are constructed much more closely than in the states, more wood for fear of quakes... gotta make the people happy. Actually, lots of Asian coasters are white... kinda tacky if you ask me...
  7. Cedar Fair rider admission policy; if it is same as CP, you can ride with a wrist brace/cast, as long as you are the outside rider, this is to prevent injury to another rider. if you can shake your wrist pretty heavily, with no pain to yourself Go for the "Level 5"s if its a little pain... stick to only a few "Level 4"s if there is a lot... you might hope to go back pre-Italian Job or uh, Backlot Stunt Coaster... to the Tiques... cuz, you're screwed until you get that off.
  8. It sounds a lot like Beech Bend Park, from time to time it seems as though they "over buy" I think the trick is pacing the budget... because thats what it is, a budget. but they both try to get people out of the lines and onto the rides.
  9. Most Definitely the Flying Eagles. How I miss it so.
  10. Ok, flaming was strictly forbidden 2 years ago, why has it come back, share some love! they obviously want to plan the trip, winter is a great time for that. ssdd1970, in wishing to spend a week in Cincinnati, I would also recommend visiting the Carew Tower downtown, its taller than the Tallest Roller Coaster in the World!! I have always stayed near exit 19 (Fields-Ertel Road, not so sure of spelling) they have some good rates, however I recommend the Ramada located next to the Days Inn, they have better staff, and continental breakfast. Yay Food! Best of luck. And for the love people, spell check!
  11. and goes down for weather after three drops of rain... 1... oh wait... ... ehh... "DISPATCH 1" 2... yes yes yes... "DISPATCH 2" oh come on one more! "DISPATCH 3" 3... YES!! RIDE PARK Riders waiting for demon drop, at this time, demon drop is closed due to WEATHER! we do not know how long this delay will last... blah blah blah... EVACUATE RIDE!!!
  12. exactly, if Maverick had just a simple lapbar, it would be a much more enjoyable ride... :-)
  13. In the case of CP, the operators try to do their best to catch all large guests before entering the line, at MF its but forcing everyone to climb on the test seat and ask if they have ridden this year. if yeah, then they assume that the rider has ridden, and proceeds... I have been stopped... and everyone knows, I'm MF riding material. it hard to catch everything.and when you allow someone to enter, just to spend 2 hours in a line then get turned away and do the WALK OF SHAME!! that hurts. Trust me... MF big-kids sitting in the back seat is the most hilarious thing ever... think about it... you get released after saying "sorry" then you have to walk the entire train length to the front of the train, and exit the station out the back of the platform... that has to be the worst feeling... but its better than them asking, "can't i just ride without it? I'll be fine!"
  14. possibly a scare from CP06 brought it, but also, gas prices... higher this year than ever... UGGH! remember, people know that they can lose a bit of weight from one year to the next, if they were close, then they might try again, I do agree though that weight scares will embarass a guest more often than not... aka... "OH I GUESS I CAN RIDE CAUSE I GOT BIIIIIG F*CKIN TITTIES!!"
  15. of course it does... Inta-Schwartz-'n'M have picky restraints, the Intamin-Schwartzkopf folks did innovations... then they split and intaimin went nuts with more innovation, schwartzkopf kinda fizzled out... intamin had two folks branch off for new powerful machines which were innovative but relatively classic, they each had picky restraints, but intamin moreso than B&M
  16. Okay, of all people, I believe I know about this issue. I have developed methods to get people in, and people that know will think this is hilarious... 1. Fupa Stretcher... 2. Titstacker 3. Inny-Outty and of course 4. Bear-Hug its really funny when you see someone close a restraint on a busty female, and hear "OH MY TITS!"
  17. I dont mean to be rude or anything, but Skyhawk has the most accommodating restraints ever. EVER! the Boomerang simply has to lay over and click to ride... Sorry
  18. It really has nothing to do with CP, but more with the recomendations for seatbealt length from Intamin for MF and TTD. CP could ignore what Intamin said, but, that would leave the door open to many issues if an incident would happen to occur. Now with Maverick, it has OTSR's and caters to a majority of America. Chances are anything over a 38" waist will not be able to enjoy MF or TTD. QUOTE(Hank @ Sep 29 2007, 11:13 AM) * I used to be able to ride MF, Mantis & Raptor, but they chnaged the restraints.! The restraints on Mantis and Raptor are still the original ones from when the rides were first opened. The OTSRs are still tight at the bottom, and the waist thing is more like 40" With Raptor and Mantis and Millennium Force, Dragster... You see, they replaced the Restraints every few years, as a safety issue, however they each are Identical each year to the previous one. but the belt length does change. Millennium Force this year has a lot more room, still smallest in the park, but 2" more belt. as well as dragster, you can tell its longer. So for those of you in 2006 when the restraints were all itty bitty, you should now be able to ride, well, moreso... so.. There goes the floor you are out the door and ready to soar... ON RAPTOR!! You're out of here flipping upside down 4 times in 4 ways all while standing on your own 2 feet OH BOY! YOURE ON MANTIS!! Enjoy your race for the sky ON TOP THRILL DRAGSTER!! sit up right hold on tight and enjoy your ride on the RBMF... the RECORD BREAKING MILLENNIUM FORCE!! CLEAR!! Post ending in 3-2-1
  19. Demon Drop, Hate it, but I still have a place for it in my heart, I had to ride it a lot, about 2 or three times at a time, and I still never liked it... its tall and shaky, it scares the crap out of me. This ride is sitting on some VALUABLE real estate. and though it may seem a good idea to relocate it to another park, just for nostalgia, it is just not feasible. Demon Drop might be dropping for the last time this October, or so I have heard. who knows though, we might be seeing lucky number 25. we thought 23 was enough... it just has so many mechanical problems. does anyone really understand how complex that ride is!? Intamin, Overcomplexity at its best.
  20. OMG I forgot Cedar Downs... Loves it! (8/10)
  21. So I visited CP A LOT this summer... and that faded out... Oh Boy!! Who's ready to experience the park!? Raptor, Demon Drop, Mantis, Millennium Force, maXair, Wicked Twister, Kiddy Kingdom! The Train, Calypso, Turnpike Cars! Back up... what? Thats right, a whole lot of "what does this mean?" as some of you may know, I operated coasters and rides at CP last year, and this year as well, and things didnt work out so well... so that mini list, is my Trained at list... certified to run each fully, less the engine staff, the kiddy kingdom carrousel, krazy kars, 4x4s, and sir rub a dubs tubs. Last year it was a much larger list... Magnum, Raptor, Power Tower... Wicked Twister, the Train and Top Thrill Dragster, Mantis, Demon Drop, Midway Carrousel, Skyride, Skyhawk, Gemini, Witches Wheel, Camp Snoopy, and the Monster, maXair... Yeah, I had my fun. so this year, I was pleased with Raptor's performance until the lift died, the crew got angry, and I was forced to leave the ride... new Home... Wicked Twister, I dont know what it was, but last year's crew made me feel more at home, this year was way better organized, but it just made me so bored, the best Crew night ever had happened there, and it was themed to Mario, and purely amazing. Request for transfer tooooooooooo... MANTIS! Thats right, we flip you upside down 4 times in 4 ways, OH BOY! whos ready to ride the mantis!? "Guests waiting in line, due to the rain we will be removing the 2nd train, once again, making your 2 hour wait into a 4 hour weight. (Riot in queue line) I know ya mad." It happens, Cedar Fair imposed a new rule after Maverick Openned, stating that all roller coasters should shut down for rain, if you would carry an umbrella in it, why run it!? So yeah... 1 train operation at any ride is boring, but it happens, and you deal with it... lines get long, people moan and *****... excuse me, what? Yes, *****y people, come on, you know it happens, everyone has seen a cursing sailor amusement park patron. "EXCUSE ME, CAN SOMEONE GET ME A TOWEL!? SOMEONE HAS ****ED ON MY SEAT!!" entire crew rolls with laughter... hey, it happens. Lets see, many times did I climb the 145 feet, and decob, climb the huge set of spirals for each of the B&M Beasts, it was kinda nice, except the whole, hold a paddle to face the oncoming sandusky wind, as a train approaches you in the block of raptor, not fun, had the train come, I would have cried... the stairs rumble and shake so much! same with Mantis, but thats a different story. So many social events happened, Ride Nights, DRAMA... yeah, CP, We know drama. so on to the actual rides... My evaluations as a whole for the 2007 season... Zone1: Raptor... Great, Smooth... scratch that, its getting rough, 7/10 Blue Streak: "This ride is better than sex" where else you going to get ten humps in under 2 minutes? 8/10 Calypso: I never thought a soundtrack could get so hilarious, calypso music all day... lol 7/10 Turnpikes: my first car ride at CP, interesting roadsters... lol 5/10 Skyride: it gets you from A to B and B to A, thats about it, and it gets kinda scary... 4/10 Demon Drop: I'm scared! b*tch is acting up, always... 4/10 Wow! I didnt ride Disaster Transport this year! maXair: one of the best flats around! yes better than Delirium... 8/10 Wicked TWISTER: Nice, powerful, bad wheels, bad game... 7/10 old friend. Zone 2: Chaos... NO! MAAM! Wildcat: still nice, 8/10 be prepared for sudden stops.........ERRRRR Iron Dragon: Dragon Iron, Tin Lizard... yeah, its great... 7/10 Mantis: yeah, the bug, I found a new love for stand-up coasters! 9/10 Oh Boy!! Millennium Force: If it don't fit, Force it! no, maam, you cannot ride, for your safety.:! 8/10 Zone 4: Not me, not getting wet, Snake, TC, nope... Maverick: Yeah, its kinda like that, no, i didnt get hurt on the restraints... 9/10 Mean Streak: only sit in odd # rows... better for me than previously... 7/10 Gemini: its not racing so well... 6/10 Skyhawk: Skywhale, Skyorca... whatev... love it... Mean it! 8/10 Train: again, transit... it helps... 6/10 Mine Ride: "stackin like IHOP" 7/10 Zone 3: Dragster: uhh, that line!? no... 7/10 Power Tower... not this year... Corkscrew... yeah, i tottally skipped that too I think... Paddlewheel Excursion: yeah, corny jokes, and 2 roller coasters... its pretty sweet! 8/10 Last but not least... the one the only MAGNUM XL-200: Oh yes, I love it, and you should too!! its the world's first hyper coaster, and after a nice little accident, its still running great, 3 trains again, interval is being met and exceeded... its nice... Miss it... yeah 10/10... best in park, good game Magnum XL-two-diddy! Peace Out Girl Scout.

    eek! Top gun!

Top gun was not designed for that spot, Vortex at Canada's Wonderland was designed for its spot, and it happened to be very popular in "Canadia" so they wanted to put one in back in 1993, to be named Thunder Road, and it changed park names, and ride name, but they still got it, and put it in right there where it sits, a nice fit, and if you look at it, traditionally you wont have a lift going high over a valley, you normally would have it go over higher terrain to eliminate some costs... We owe this to Vortex at CW. I mean this is a 3rd Gen Suspended Coaster, its great!
