  1. I just have to say that anyone who visits Geauga Lake will be very upset, the park is going downhill, with surveyors examining the Villain area, rumors of Villain, Dominator and Thunderhawk being removed soon... its not looking good for Geauga Lake, Lets pray for the Big Dipper... its old school, and I love it.
  2. That sounds pretty fantastic, sometimes park security can actually do what is right.
  3. From a reliable source? Actually, I heard DP was getting zoned for a new IntaRide Impulse. That Steel Venom was to be scrapped.
  4. typically it takes 40 hours for a train to be tested, so perhaps its only going to take 40 hours to cycle trains spread out in 10 hours a day for 4 days, but allow extra time for maintenance inspections.
  5. Magnum has soom footers that are almost level with the ground and others that are about 4' tall, its designed to be on flat land, but the footers allow it to adjust slightly to major changes in land, and they simply dug areas out for some of the "low zones" really... its simple.
  6. Yeah, but I tell them to cover it up. its a family environment, not Hooters!
  7. Wicked Twister did not close for this reason, but it does close often due to "Structural reasons" I love that metronome.
  8. How about the Worlds Tallest Wooden Roller Coaster??
  9. this may help someone locate the loop height a bit better...
  10. also, look at the resources for the park, the speed Rumbler reaches, the speed voyage reaches, the heights, the changes in direction. and the fact that Beech Bend is having legal issues, yeah they might not need retracking yet, but its not inevitable.
  11. Shun the nonbeliever! Shun! Sssshhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnuh! Oh, and 50 bajillion awesome points to whoever can say what thats a quote from. Charlie the Unicorn goes to Candy Mountain
  12. actually it was operational difficulties in 3 train operation, so yeah, valid point, 2 trains for main part, and it is said (from GL hosts) that the 3rd train is a "Fishing Well" of parts.
  13. 1st Drop of Raptor, its just fun! Launch of Wicked Twister with the Countdown (accurate or not) The Zero-G Roll of Raptor... oh yes! Bunny Hills on Magnum!! 1st drop on Voyage!! and OMG Triple Down!! Speed on Top Gun... the low segments... like the one really close to SOB Double Up on Legend The grace on Raven the Mountian Drop on Tennessee Tornado the 1st drop through 2nd drop of Thunderhead!! Millennium Backseat, 1st drop!!!!!!! Low Twists on Mantis!! Hand-Slapping on Gemini Spiral on Dragster Whats the absolute most favorite? Ok, not my OMFG-WTF-BBQ Favorite, but I would say the Zero-G on Raptor.... OH WOW. then I would select the intense bunny hills of Magnum XL 200
  14. well then how is it that at maxair you can get considerably more than 12 cycles in one hour? 12 cycles full is 600. when you get 17 cycles as we get at fast times... then you have 250 more people. so around 850 rph.
  15. yes it is the same concept, however mystery mine is custom made for the terrain i believe, hence the swooping drop. and I didnt know it came that close to Lumberjack Lifts... WOW
  16. Thank you. and yes the 600 estimate is called the "wishful letdown" I like to call it. a "wishful letdown" is as such, you estimate something kinda low... like an hourly capacity or a long line at a ride, if you say 1 hour wait, and its only 40 min, then you have had people expecting an hour wait, but they really got less, they were hopeful for that letdown, but got excited about the shorter. you can expect that capacity, but in fact it can become larger. That last part didnt come out the same. maXair v. Delirium... Hmm, which Giant Hussie Wins? totally maXair!
  17. for a flat, its pretty good... mainly the capacity is based off of a projection, once again, Magnum CAN do 1944, but it normally gets only 1700-1800, its all based on crew efficiency, and guest assistance. if the guest takes a LONG time to load... (height issues, loose articles) then yes, the seconds are being deducted. fill the seats quickly, check them quickly, dispatch safely. consider this. the Red Devil is a circular ride, containing 24 seats, it has an estimated hourly capacity of approx. 450 pph. if you fill all seats, then 450 is easy to attain. if you miss one each time, then your capacity shrinks to maybe 425 per hour. losing 300 riders in a day! but if you take a minute to fill the seat, then capacity goes down more! 350-375... losing approx. 1200 riders in the day! look at those numbers! the key, go safely and efficiently. one thing you can never get back, is an empty seat. just like hotel rooms. you cant get that money back, its not like retail, its tourism. people want efficiency, safety, and as little concern on their part as possible. and typically the rides at CP slow down due to guest problems, such as heights, and loose articles, elderly guests, and handicapped persons. I am hoping this talk about capacity spells it out a little more. you see, if the X-Flight has a duration of 2:10, and there is a load time of approx 1:20, then you can infer that a "full cycle" is 4 min. decent, not great but ok. 6 cars per train. 4 across, so 24 riders, and thats just one train. so you get 24*15 360RPH for just one train, now multiply it by 3 since it can run 3 trains! 1080 per hour for 3 train operation... an "optimum capacity" and RCDB reports... 1430 RPH... so... you can tell that the capacity is not all that low! its not a people eater... but it surely isnt a HUGE LINE attraction... Kudos to CF's-KI! for a flat, its pretty good... Approx. 1,000 riders per hour is maXair... and it makes 32 individual swings... 5 full height swings... so that makes maXair a bit longer too... KI? where is the Delirium Dreamer? she can really Zip along oh her seats!!
  18. remember that a really high capacity for a roller coaster, we will say an arrow hyper coaster that forces you to move some tail or it will set up and prevent the ride from operating until the track has been released with a key. that specific ride is approx. 1944, and the B&M inverted nearby... is approx 1920. and each get about 12,000-15,000 on an average day. the Giant Frisbee there has the same projected capacity as Delirium, at around 300 RPH. and you can stick near this to make about 2,400 riders per day, its not diffucult to get high capacity, it just requires the hosts to move some tail, also at that frisbee, all riders get checked twice! one would assume that the X-flight attraction wont have the best roller coaster attendance as one could imagine, but its not going to be the least. i mean it does have a considerably large train. not 12 seaters, and only 3 of them.
  19. also, in regards to what a silence button means... Silence means Alarm silence, there can be minor problems and major problems, minor problems can be silenced witht the button, and major problems will continue with a buzzer... 867 is an operation number, all rides at CP start with 3. magnum is 335. and also... the Gates are not a required portion to the ride... it was only recently that Magnum and Raptor recieved Gates... gates are lame. thats why raptor runs so slow... I hate gates.
  20. That would have to be built at SFOG. Right in the Confederate Area I'd say. Or Carowinds Heh?
  21. Well... that isnt a bad thing, its just purchasing new trains. new trains = new "warranty" But truthfully, turning the cars around would be moderately difficult. and I would have no part in riding a Beast train Backwards.
  22. I will beat you too... Grammar, Spelling.
