  1. I to have the all season dinning plan, the only real complaint is that most locations have a small number of food items to choose from. Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Pizza, Chicken Tenders.
  2. Place is pretty much packed tonight, crowd just kept getting larger. The Racer has a line.
  3. Yeah it was pretty cold out, that cold air went right through my jeans.
  4. Yeah that took about 25 minutes to get in the front gate, the crowd seem to pick up as the night went on. Longest I saw was 45 minutes from Banshee.
  5. Back in 2002 or 2003 the capacity reached around 64,000 or 65,000. Remember they had the parking lot camera up that day, and all you saw were endless rows of cars. The parking lot trams ran two to three hours after the park closed. And those bring a friend free days were awesome to work, we got slammed pretty hard those days.
  6. On any wooden coaster that has three rows per car, the middle sit is always the smoothest, along with the front seat. If you sit over a wheel you'll feel every bump. On Face/Off (Invertigo) I find that sitting towards the middle is the best, sitting on the ends is uncomfortable to me. Just like with any Inverted coaster the front is always the best, it gives you a sense of flying.
  7. Back in 2005 was working in Action Zone that day, Timberwolf had an up-and-coming Hip Hop group Pretty Ricky preforming. After words a fight broke out infront of the Stunt Grill, today it's the Chicken Shack. Before it all started there was a lot of yelling and shouting. There might have more fights, don't remember. EMT's were called the area of the first fight. All I could find is the group took the stage at 7:30pm on June 25th. Was able to find this news story from 700WLW Security Review at PKI Monday, June 27, 2005 at 11:30am THEY'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW SOMEONE GOT A GUN INTO KING'S ISLAND SATURDAY NIGHT. THE WEAPON WAS FOUND ON A JUVENILE AFTER POLICE BROKE UP FIGHTS AFTER THE "PRETTY RICKY" CONCERT. THE GUN WAS NOT USED DURING THOSE FIGHTS. OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICERS WORKING SECURITY AT KING'S ISLAND HAD TO CALL FOR BACKUP BECAUSE OF THE FIGHTS. KING'S ISLAND SPOKESMAN JEFF SIEBERT SAYS THERE ARE METAL DETECTORS AT THE GATES OF THE PARK, AND THEY'RE ALWAYS ON. SIEBERT SAYS TODAY, THEY'RE REVIEWING SECURITY PROCEDURES. AROUND 10:45PM, A 16-YEAR-OLD EMPLOYEE TOLD A COWORKER HE WAS CARRYING THE .22 CALIBER HANDGUN. THE COWORKER CALLED POLICE, WHO ARRESTED THE 16-YEAR-OLD. ANOTHER 17-YEAR-OLD WAS ARRESTED FOR RESISTING ARREST, AND ASSAULTING A POLICE OFFICER. MICHAEL MORELLI HAD TO BE MACED. HE'S ACCUSED OF HEAD BUTTING AN OFFICER DURING THE ARREST. BOTH MORELLI AND THE OFFICER WERE TREATED AT BETHESDA NORTH. DURING THE SHOW, ENTHUSIASTIC FANS ALSO COLLAPSED A SECURITY FENCE. WITNESSES SAY THE CROWD CONSISTED MAINLY OF TEENAGED GIRLS.
  8. Was at the park today from around noon till 4pm, Banshee was just about a walk-on. Longest wait was for BLSC, 20 minutes.
  9. Yeah when I pulled your Kings Island video up on Youtube, remembered your username on there with the Conrail logo.
  10. Yes awesome video! brought back many memories. At 0:10 ticket booths & at 0:36 tram loading and unload area, both are long gone. When I worked there in 2005 most of the music on International Street was from Paramount movie's, Top Gun Anthem, Raider of the last ark, James Bond 007. At Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, only remember seeing Scooby Doo outside for the meet and greet. Don't remember seeing Shaggy and Velma that much, on the last weekend of the year they had the Flintstones out with Scooby Doo together. While on break during Winterfest, got a picture of me with Scooby Doo.
  11. Was there from 10am till 12pm, it seemed like the lines were longer than they should be. On reason maybe it that it's not warm enough for the waterpark, Banshee looked to be 1/2 to 3/4 full. Diamondback was around 20 minutes. The Bats line was up the stairs next to the pop and candy machines. Drop Zone looked to be around 20 to 30 minutes, Racer was only one side, and two of the queue's were being used. The Congo looked to be a walk-on.
  12. I not going on Drop Tower, while it's raining.
  13. Remember back in 2006, the train was closed on opening day till the water park opened in May. When the park went over budget on there Nickelodeon area. Remember working that opening day in Nickelodeon, the paint on some of the rails were still wet.
  14. I really liked it, the vest is much better than on Gatekeeper. But it is still stiff. I've never been on Montu, so I can not compare the two. Joined the line (me and my dad) when it was back at the Effiel Tower. From the Tower to the first over flow queue, it took and hour 36 minutes. Mapped it on google earth, the distance was 0.25 miles. The main queue did take around 2 hours to get through. The full total came out to be 4 hours 30 minutes, even got the front seat. On an Inverted coaster it feels like your soring thorugh the air, in the front row. That topped our wait back in July 2003 for Top Thrill Dragster, at 2 hours 30 minutes. I was so tired and sore from standing that long. Could not even scream on the coaster, from my mouth being so dry.
  15. That's great to hear the restraints on Gatekeeper are being improved, the only think I did not like was during the ride how the vest would keep getting tighter and tighter. Making you collarbone's really sore.
  16. Are some of the negative comments coming from Son of Beast fans? I really like that KI will be getting another B&M roller coaster, as with some of the comment's above wounder how the capacity will be with no mid-course brake. Also we have not seen any pictures of the cars, have they been upgraded to a new design over passed models? When Fox19 came on the air, they had live press coverage of the announcement.
  17. Only one cash register open, sounds like your at Walmart. Those waits sound pretty crazy. Looks like the private event tomorrow will get some rain.
  18. Anyone know how much the ride cost to build when it opened?
  19. The last time I was at the water park was back in the late 90's, when it was Water Works. I can remember the wave pool being packed shoulder to shoulder with people.
  20. So it sounds like there charging the same amount for lockers as parking? $12 to $15?
  21. Hay Railroader19, I have a few pictures of the green engine #19. I'm a big railfan I go over to ether Glendale, Ohio or Lockland, Ohio and watch trains. Was at the park yesterday and they were running two trains, if the engineer had not been hauling though town there would have been a perfect meet between the two trains near the small town. Just before you get to Soak City.
  22. Great trip report, I was at the park yesterday to the food in Festhouse was very expensive! I did not think any part of Adventure Express was smooth, going up the first lift hill the cars were rocking to the left. And man it was hot out to!
  23. I think the entertained part is the fun house part. Also like there Intermodal and fright yard.
  24. I've been working on my Ho scale layout for a few years now, the best part is running long trains. Glendale is off of 1-75 exit 15, the first exit south of I-275. Go west on E Sharon Rd about a mile, close up parking is in the Municipal parking lot.
