  1. Self explanatory. What is something other parks do that Kings Island doesn’t but you think should?

    Free Sunscreen: Holiday world

Hand mounted cameras: SeaWorld and Busch Gardens

Better App: Universal Studios and Disney

    Free Lockers: Universal Studios

These assclowns are even doing drastic SATURDAY staffing cuts now??  The people in the glass offices in Sandusky and Charlotte need to take the firearms out of their hands and quit shooting themselves in their overpaid feet, because that is exactly what their short term gain stupidity is akin to.  Ive already said pass renewal is at a tipping point for me, and there is absolutely no way I am alone in my thoughts on that, at least not in the World outside of fansites.

In my adult years I’ve come to see how conservatively (from a corporate standpoint) the company is run.

  3. I should mention I rarely see any advertising for any of the CF parks outside local shopping grocery stores. I’d be interested to hear from Ryan (BoodaH1994) his take if he thinks some of this could be in result to poor corporate marketing.

I’ve seen billboards and ads for Dollywood as far as Dayton and ads for Dollywood are littered all over my socials.

  4. Hearing the pathetic staffing issues makes me (A Nevada native) not want to visit which I think is the opposite of what Cedar Fair wants to hear.

can anyone confirm if Knotts is staffing the same way? I certainly hope not because having to deal with SFMM operations and staffing is already one park too many!

  5. Sigh, here it comes.

    I'm not here to talk about Don or Chad. What I do want to discuss is the maturity of corporations on Social Media. You see, up until I would say 2016/2017 social media on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook have been straight and to the point. Update Guest about X thing happening on X day. Today when you think of good online social accounts run by theme park / manufacturing accounts I think of;

These are just to name a few but many others exist. On top of just the language used I really would like everyone here to also look at the REPLYs tab. This is what IMO makes a social stand out. Uni replies to an exceptional amount of tweets both good and bad. RMC plays back and forth with its fans and other parks twitter accounts. I could go on and on. Twitter for these places actually feel like were having an active conversation and that as a guest or pass member feels... well... good! Now take a look at the online presence of not just Kings Island, but Cedar Fair in general it just seems like a one sided conversation. There isn't any reply to any mentions! Not even when Kyle at KD posted the following did Kings Island like or even respond.

Not that it is a big deal with that specific example but it shows a lack of using the "social" in social media.

Now compared to how Universal expresses concern when a tweet with a critique is sent, This is how my tweet was responded to back in 2019. And to this day am still blocked.

I don't hold a grudge, I still love this park but I wish here in a digital age there were actual communication between the parks and their guests.

From what I’ve seen, his source is correct. I cannot comment on the water rides, but The Racer did not race this past week and a quarter of Planet Snoopy closed an hour early today.

I think Cedar Fair as a whole is struggling right now. Whether it is Kings Island specifically or not is one thing, but all parks suffer a bit when the chain as a whole is struggling.

I wouldn't say they are struggling after hearing their recent quarterly.

CF is a fairly conservative company when it comes to their checkbook

  7. So here is a short funny Starlight story for everyone!

It was spring 2010 and my very first task of the season was to get in a boom lift and begin decorating the trees with the Christmas lights for Starlight Experience. One tree in particular in the south east corner of the tower was my tree. I wrapped that tree from trunk to branch and was so happy about it. When it came to powering up the lights my tree was substantially worse than the others. A friend there asked me what happened? I replied, "Dude I'm Jewish I've never wrapped a tree!!!"

So this all but confirms that Adventure Port was a last minute decision as many here speculated. Not that it takes away from the final result. Even though the area was heavily delayed, it is a very welcome addition!

I seriously can't see why people would like MF more then Orion? Yeah it's a little bit longer, but alot is just low to the ground with no elements.  A little taller? I can't tell... And the seats and lap bar aren't in the same league as Orion

Because opinions differ. I'm in the boat that found Orion to be a one and done experience. Yeah it's fun, not gonna say it isn't. It just didn't tick the marks I expect out of a 'giga'.

Who chose that layout and why?

I kinda wish The Beast got a theming enhancement much like The Adventure Express. Maybe add The Beast eyes in the tunnels. Add some sound effects such as adding a chain breaking noise when the train departs the station. Roaring and grunting noises throughout the ride and such, while also keeping the classic music that we have become accustomed to on the lift hills. Also if this horse hasn’t been beaten enough, BRING BACK THE WATER FEATURE!

    Reference noises:

Trust me I'd love to see the return of the water feature at Beast. In fact, back in 2008 I recall The Beast crew fed a water hose up the station and had it running through most of the 4th of July weekend. They also had station music. It was a cool site to see but it didn't last long.

CF has gotten better when it comes to themeing but with dynamic theming such as water, mist, or flames until they can prove they can upkeep I'm just not so sure if this is doable. For now that is.

Or Firehawk back in the day when the “Fast Lane” line became the “slightly less long wait line compared to that other long wait line.”

”Premium Experiences” certainly aren’t anything new, but what’s your bottom line worth once you start to reliably inconvenience the “regular” guest?

Bottom line, When being a regular entry guest doesn't feel like the experience was meant for you because you didn't pay for premium.
