I’m playing the world’s smallest violin for you.

Responses like this is how arguments begin on this site which I'm not trying to create. As a theater major I am just speaking from experience of gigs I have been a part of. Most recently Hamilton in Vegas recently began selling tickets and is receiving a lot of sales and those that were lucky enough to get a ticket only recently found they had been bamboozled by TicketMaster (which in itself is its own bag of issues) to only have their tickets that they were so excited to use to see one of Americas biggest show revoked due to overselling of other promotions. It hits a blow when you love theater as much as some and don't get your entry as you thought you had. Imagine how it is for enthusiasts trying unsuccessfully to get a vertual queue for  Guardians Cosmic Rewind opening day to not make it to any of the time slots.

I'll admit I have gone to see previews of shows before their official opening that were sold well in advance just so I could be one of the first to see a brand new show open in Vegas, my main concern was purely compassion towards the members on this site that has mentioned they will be there on opening day, I'm sure they were excited to be the first to be in line as I am sure they will still be tomorrow. Next time you want to play your violin leave it for the orchestra alongside next to Maestro.

I do applaud the KI team and Paul for working long hours no doubt to get the lobby ready in time for the preview! That is a major feat. In addition all the work that has been done this year for the 50th that still just seem to be coming one after another. We got so much more than we ever expected!

  2. It's not unheard of that VIP tours for parks not include park tickets but that is Disney. Not to downplay Kings Island as a quality park as it definitely is but the incentives are not compelling enough for me to really recommend this. For me all you need is a Fast pass and Meal Plan for a great day.

There is a bunch of outdoor chairs-sofas from Carnivale behind this area ready to set up soon. Definitely seating of some type. Probably VIP experience-but seems sort of “in your face” for a vip lounge.

Yeah, when I think of VIP I tend to think of something more private. Is there a reason the IR can't be used as a VIP lounge during the day?

  4. It must have been a very recent decision as the ride never opened for the season but was still on the park map.

Whatever the reason is, it's not an attraction I'll necessarily miss. This does once again open up yet another prime area in the park. Adding to the list of Vortex, Action Theater, TRTR building, Plot behind Eiffel Tower. It's almost a blessing the park has so much opportunity for expansion inside the park where parks now need to resort to building on top of another attraction or build outside the property.

We might not get too detailed of an answer but someone could try asking at a Q&A at Coasterstock, and if their version is still down at Cedar Point in a few weeks Coaster Mania.

I would expect a vague answer without too many details but I would be surprised if there is no answer at all. I doubt they are trying to hide something.  It’s just not something they are going to announce.

I think some explanation is needed considering it is on the list of rides on KIs main site. At least saying the ride is closed.

I wonder if Carowinds running at half speed has anything to do with it's closure. Can anyone confirm if World's of Funs wind seeker is open or running at half speed?

Could you really fit a larger version of anything more than a restroom on that plot?

Backlot is nice in that it's a family coaster, but it is just a blight on the park. It s to go.

    2) (Also very unlikely) Remove Backlot and replace it with a Steelplechase (Pony Express)- a larger version than the one at Knotts. Put in some nice landscaping. Various other traditional-sized flats throughout the park.

This is an amazing unique idea!!lockquote widget

Exactly. Most accidents in these environments are preventable and come as a result of some kind of safety failure or oversight. I don’t want to bring the Icon Park incident into the conversation because it’s obviously very, very different, but in getting back to the park on season pass preview day I commented to my fiancé how grateful I was to have a home park where accidents don’t typically occur to the extreme that occurred in Florida.

Don’t want to sound like a broken record, but it’s just disappointing and I regret making the above statement about safety, now. You just don’t know what else could happen. I guess that’s the risk, though.

Has the park released a statement yet?

I highly doubt they will, if anything they will just state the ride is closed for inspection. KI doesn't seem to discuss or output news of this kind unless it is on main stream news. Twitter rarely responds to guests.

  8. Don't expect it open on Sunday; after an investigation, Either the coaster will go to one train operation or continue to stay closed.

This station mishape is also 3 years from a similar accident on Valravn in 2019. It was about a month before it reopened.
