  1. Does anyone have the full-length video of the Flight of Fear intro video? I know a 5 minute one exists, but it is definitely missing the "prank", station rolecall, Mr. Christopher saying "fool me once", more crowd cut aways (I think), and I can't remember what else.

For reasoning, my partner needs to take the accessibility entrance, so they've never seen the video but loves the coaster and I want them to have the full experience.

  2. I wonder if I am just less sensitive to it or if my size helps keep me in tighter... I've only ridden it five or six times and only within the last year (so no early-days to compare it to) but it feels smoother than an old school inverter and I always have an amazing ride.

I think this will be a great addition to KI. As much as I hate to see Octoberfest go, it seems phasing it out has been happening over the years. I do like suggestions that I have read about including it more in the International Street part of KI. Seems very fitting and I would love to see it become more international like it was, years ago.

Is Oktoberfest going anywhere? We lose Biergarden, but everything else stays the same. It mostly is an untamed area getting an update afaik.

  4. I wish I could understand the audio. Probably defined for young kids, not old-men with rock concert ears. Thank you for sharing the video though! I was hyper curious if there was a plot since I could hear garbled words occasionally but had no clue what it was.

  5. So I made it to the first two Friday haunts this year. I occasionally hear stuff over sound systems (after a warning about very loud noise) but can't make out the words. Is there an ongoing plot through the night? I'd love to uncover it for myself, but there's a strong chance I won't make it back this season.

also, pseudo related, is Everest still called Evereste during haunt? I'd love to look up his full video because the audio was really wonky second friday and I don't think he was out first Friday.

  6. This will be my first ki haunt. I will hopefully go with a group again in Oct, but planning to check it out solo tonight. Any tips for getting the most out of my experience or how it differs from normal season? I am autistic so like to be able to plan in advance.

  7. I have a problem with first line: "Every year, the benefits and value of being a Kings Island Gold Season Pass keeps on getting better."

Didn't there used to be coupons for free Bring-A-Friend (not $30-40 tickets), free food, and many other perks automatically? I feel like my value was better "in the old days" than it is now.

  8. My eldery mother wants to come on Monday for her grandaughter's birthday. Luckily we will be getting a cabana and will be in the water park, but having beaten a stroke she is worried about the heat and humidity.

What are people's recommendations for quickly getting out of heat in each area of the park?

Are there any AC'ed restaurants in Soak City?

Are there optional (paid) resources more than just the "shaded" vip area?

Thanks for your tips, I want her to have the best day possible and feel this could be a good resource for others.

You can order bring a friend tickets online or with the app. You're supposed to be limited for 4 per visit and you're supposed to be there with your guests and those are the only restrictions I know of (and they don't really seem to enforce either of those).

The drink plan gets you soft drinks. Coke products. You can use them in at the fountain drink locations, freestyle locations and all of the restaurants. It does include halloween and winterfest.
As far as I know it is not good for hot chocolate, cider, alcohol, etc

You get a choice between the regular drink plan (paper cups) or the season long souvenir cup. I stick with the drink plan because you can't get in line for Mystic Timbers, Orion or Banshee with a souvenir cup (no bins in the station).

Thank you for the quick answers! Sad it's not for hot beverages in winter, but I'll still take it for the soft drinks and hopefully water.

The bring a friend coupons used to be free, the ones online are like $40. Have they done away with the old freebies and coupon book then?

  10. Hi all,

I grew up in Ohio and went to KI (and Cedar Point) since the early 80s. Last year I came back to Ohio and went to Winterfest a couple times and fell in love again. I picked up a new Gold Pass and am considering the season drink pass, but had a few questions.

    • Is there still a coupon book? Does it include bring-a-friend coupons?
      • How many and are they only for certain days?
    • What beverages does the drink pass get you?
      • Can you only use it at the stand-alone drink sections, or can you use it inside other restaurants? Any you can't use it in?
      • Is it usable for fall/winter as well?
      • If so, can you use it for cider and hot chocolate?

Sorry if this info was else where. I did a search but no luck.

Any other tips people have for someone wanting to rediscover Kings Island?
