  1. From the first day of Winterfest this year, I knew this one was going to be great, that sentiment held true. The added new lights + the addition of Adventure Port made the event much better than last year. Sol Spin is the perfect winterfest ride and essentially was added to my roster between FOC, MT, and ZPHR. The only thing in my opinion that would round up the ride lineup would be the addition of Banshee. Action Zone is a place I only went to 1 time this year, it's such a large section of the park that is just unused for the most part. Even if the ride was on one train, it would still be a great option to ride. Seeing FOC on one train all winterfest this year, it's definitely able to be pulled off. Another thought I had was about Racer, I remember one year KD had Racer 75 open for winterfest, I forget which year it was but I do know I saw videos of people who rode it in December. That said, once all this restoration work is complete on Racer, could we see it open one year? That's something that would be quite the treat to say the least!

  2. With the transition to X, the post view counter has been very helpful for the public to see that analytic. Unfortunately, any post (or tweet) made before analytics were made visible do not have it to be seen publicly.

It seems like the PR winners of CF this year were KD and DP. I've seen many of their posts in my feed, Dorney seems to be the best park when it comes to engaging with the most accounts, they seem to have the right people managing the account.

Anderson didn’t know of the plans until we did. Horrible what this does to the city.

“Given said investment, the Board of Township Trustees expects to have meaningful discussion with (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) leadership soon to learn about the detailed plans for the former Coney Island site and how such plans will impact the Anderson community," the statement reads. "Once those conversations have occurred and more information is shared, township officials will be able to comment further."

Wow, talk about sneaky! I don't even know how on earth such a massive and historical project / transaction could be so secretive. To me, that's a tad bit shady.

Good Gravy track was completed on Tuesday.
It is not looking likely for Camp Snoopy to be ready by opening day. There is still a chance but it’s looking less likely by the day. Especially since WinterFest is now daily until Christmas Eve. So I imagine work won’t resume until January.

It still looks like work will go on. Currently, there is concrete being poured while employees are arriving for Winterfest tonight.

  5. Total Eclipse of the Point| Solar Eclipse Event | Cedar Point

Cedar Point added a solar eclipse event to their calendar. The event will be held the day of the eclipse April 8th, 2024, in the boardwalk section of the park. The event page states that select boardwalk rides will be open during the event! The question is, will other parks in the path of the eclipse do the same?

  6. I would love to see something to pay homage to the site. Something small like plaques, references, or a museum to even having a small ride or attraction at the site such as a carousel or ferris wheel. These little touches would be at least something to keep the legendary site remembered and honored for generations to come. There is a TON of land to work with and lots of opportunities. If nothing else however, we will still have lake como

Sad, but definitely not unexpected. Once they removed the rides, I had a feeling Coney Island wouldn’t last much longer.

I am excited to see this new venue and how that plays out, and also wonder what will happen with Riverbend / PNC Pavilion with the new venue being built. It seems strange to me that they would keep 3 venues operating so close together. Could Riverbend or PNC Pavilion be on the way out too?

Plot twist, Riverbend closes and an amusement park takes it's place

  8. Deserved 100%, I do not feel bad at all. They screwed up but time removing the rides. They betrayed Anderson Township and the historical nature of the site by doing so. As a local, it Coney was the family park that you'd go to since KI was far away and was a bit intimidating. The mix of small and unique and classic rides was really fun. When they added their last set of new rides the mini bumper cars and top spin, I truly thought they would invest more and maybe even add a new roller coaster, I personally believe they were 1 major ride addition away to greatness. 2019 season rolls around and the park was looking beautiful, new ride signs, paint, and everything else had me excited. But come late 2019, the last thing I expected happens... No more rides. So no, I do not feel bad. Yes the site is historic, but it was already dead regardless. I'm confused slightly by the new site use however. It's strange to build another concert venue there. But hey, this is America!

  9. Maybe with this new role, Elizabeth will be able to to much more. I'm assuming with the more time she's there, the more she will be able to do. She was only an intern until this point so I'm hoping this will allow her to to much more with less burocracy in the way. Of course, she isn't a supervisor or director, but this is a higher position than intern.
