  1. Despite the cuts, I predict that the parking lot will be even fuller somehow this year for winterfest because that's how the gp operate for some reason.
  2. Personally, I love the bold and clean typeface and overall branding of CF, I think it's the more mature looking style that feels like it's more serious than six flags. I would love to see a CF style new logo for the new company. It has the namesake of six flags but would also be a clean slate visually. If the current SF logo is used for the long term, it would be a missed opportunity and give people the feel that nothing has changed despite being a very different company. The phrase "This ain't yo daddy's six flags" comes to mind.
  3. One more thing I forgot to add. Remember last year on the 50th anniversary. The paramount era wasn't able to really be recognized due to it being heavily branded. What if we go 20-30 years in the future and get sold off. Those years may never really be able to be as historically recognized due to branding issues. I would hate a 100 year anniversary to have holes due to the park name and licensed characters (DC in particular).
  4. I hope the six flags name isn't leaned into. It would be great to un-six flags the parks and bring back their previous names (except the OG six flags over Texas park). I think it would be wiser to see six flags as the corporate owner and operator of the parks rather than the namesake. Branding and identity of parks should be individual just like how we don't see "Cedar Fair Kings Island". Most people can look at the park and say that they loved or hate the park. Things like season pass advertising and the in park shopping bags that tell you what parks are affiliated are the best way to inform the consumer that "there's more to this than just Kings Island!". That's how I found out about amusement parks other than coney and ki without adding more complexity to ki branding. It allows ki to be it'self and not be an advert of the CF company, there are other means of advertising it which work!
  5. What a strange timeline we live in. If this is true (And goes through), I would expect an offload of parks. Most specifically, more six flags parks than Cedar Fair parks. I just don't see how such a large company would be able to operate as the profits from the big parks would need to be spread thinner throughout the massive chain of lower to mid tier parks. I would hope that six flags ip would NOT be spread to any top tier Cedar Fair parks. The day I see "Batman the ride" at Kings Island would be the day I die inside. Despite the recent efforts to strengthen the six flags brand, they will forever have scars through their overuse of ip. I will be clear however: I don't see how this would be a good thing for either company. SEAS, FUN, and SIX are the 3 big public companies that essentially manage the majority of reginal parks in the US. Taking that down to 2, being SEAS and SIX+FUN, it would create a less competitive environment. It also (like mexico currently), would create a only 1 chain operator scenario in canada.
  6. Always wondered what's the point of having an I-Street webcam if they just turn it off when it would be most useful. I totally understand when it comes to something like the fireworks / drone show programming, but right now I would love to watch them transform the fountain to the skating rink and watch them transform the tower. These things would make people more excited to come to the park getting people hyped up. But instead, we only get the other 2 cams which are harder to see from.
  7. Curious to see if Carowinds retains more rides being open during winterfest from last year.
  8. To be fair, on labor day when the park experienced a power outage, there was social media announcements made
  9. The whole point for paying for one is that anyone that is impersonating you will be removed much faster than if you don't. Also, if Kings Island gets any of the 2 check marks, anyone with a fake account will not be able to get a blue check mark since each account is manually reviewed before the checkmark is given. If anyone who has a check mark decides to change their name or profile picture, their check is removed and needs to be reviewed in order to ensure that they are not trying to change their profile to be deceptive. Anyone who has a check mark essentially gets a claim over the name and can much easily report accounts for impersonation since if pay for any checkmark (Especially Gold), you get priority within customer service.
  10. Kings Island can easily afford to get their checkmark back. If I can do it, they certainly can.
  11. There were way more than 2 scare actors in coney maul. The amount seemed the same from last year in the whole park. You likely walked through when some were on break. It tends to happen alot where a large chunk are on break at once
  12. There were a lot more strollers and young children there tonight. I can't help but think that it all comes back to this chaperone policy. It essentially forced parents to be there which in some situations required the whole family to come in since you can't leave a 3 year old at home by themselves. This in turn further neuters everything.
  13. The thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that they did not let anyone into the park until 6pm. No preshow at all. I was in line since 5:46 and didn't get into the park until 6:11.
  14. Must of ran out of poles so this looks half janky
  15. From the past 2 years of going, They do the sequence where there is an audio story played which signals the start, once the sequence is finished the scare actors come from the left and right of I-Street's intersections (Planet Snoopy and Festhaus intersections) and walk towards the crowd. Once the firework effect goes off, the rope drops.
  16. Personally, I see this as Carowinds doing something apple would do and solve a problem that they invented.

  18. From what I heard, BBW was removed before selling the park to make it appealing to the buyers since they wouldn't get the bad press
  19. Looks like haunt info will be released tomorrow
  20. Was at the park yesterday and saw the maze warning / information signs were put in place. The Madame's sign was in place.
  21. Sadly it would be a locker requirement. Ride ops cannot continue checking if they are waiting on someone to take their seat.
