RiverRacers coming to Soak City in 2025
Orion742 replied to JubJester's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
This is a perfect addition for Soak City! I just love the color scheme of RiverRacers. It’s really going to pop on the skyline. I also really like the splash river junction expansion. I’ve been calling for a family set of water slides and that is an amazing addition. Well done KI! -
So only season passholders can purchase them?

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Orion742 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Sticking with Mack, a Mack Stryker coaster would be a fantastic addition. It could still be inversion focused but be the modern launch we need with ejector airtime. -
If you had to choose one addition from the surveys Kings Island sent out, which one would you choose?

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Orion742 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I am not a fan of this concept. I love The Beast but they should keep it the way it is. Extending it might ruin its charm that I love. This is not the best way to use The Vortex plot of land. It should be used for a new coaster. Just retrack The Beast with more precut track if they want to do some work on it. Our two launch coasters are great but I still feel we need a modern launch coaster of some kind. -
What Do You Think Each Section of Kings Island Needs 2030?
Orion742 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Coming Attractions
I’ll go through each section and list what I would like to see. International Street. Not much I would add here but others have mentioned it and I’d like to see the old music back. The old music really set the mood for a grand entrance. Planet Snoopy. Personally I’d like to see Camp Snoopy expanded into Planet Snoopy to have one cohesive them but I doubt that will happen. My second option would be updating Boo Blasters in some way to improve it as it’s starting to get a bit out dated. Camp Snoopy. I really like the new Camp Snoopy section of the park however I feel it is lacking some more trees to feel more campy. Attractions wise I would like to see Woodstock’s Air Rail receive the new gen Vekoma suspended trains as those are way more comfortable than the current trains. Rivertown. Obviously I would like to see a new attraction come to the Crypt building. What attraction that would be I’m not sure. Not sure if it would be possible but I think it would be cool if a two story restaurant was added in Rivertown with balcony seating. It could make for some really scenic views. New section. I feel the path between Rivertown and Coney Mall could potentially be a new section of the park. Backlot Stunt Coaster feels very out of place to me and if we got a new coaster in The Vortex plot of land I would like to see both of these coasters in a new section of the park if they could retheme Backlot as well. Coney Mall. The back half of Coney Mall by WindSeeker always feels dead to me. If a new coaster came in The Vortex plot of land maybe the back portion past the Antique Autos could be part of the new area as well. Also I think a set of bathrooms near The Racer and front of Coney Mall could help as the nearest restrooms would be the back of Coney Mall if I’m not mistaken. Area 72. A new flat ride could work very well here because as of right now it’s just FOF and Orion. I would like to see a Zamperla NebulaZ or an S&S Screamin Swing although lane might be an issue here. One more thing. I always seem to find the seating by Meteor Canteen taken. Some more seating with umbrellas would be a welcome addition. Adventure Port. Not a particular addition but some more trees would be very welcome as there is not a lot of shade here. Also I don’t know if this would be possible but a small boat ride of some kind maybe self propelled could be cool. Action Zone. This is definitely the area of KI that needs the most work. The area needs a new identity and a Haunted theme would be the best option in my opinion. Repaint Banshee, retheme Drop Tower and Delirium to fit with the new Haunted theme. That could be phase one bringing the whole area together. Then in the future I could see Invertigo and possibly Congo Falls (maybe) getting removed and I’d like to see a B&M Surf coaster themed to King Cobra replace them. It could easily tie into the new haunted area if they theme it as King Cobra returning for revenge. -
There’s also been survey markings at the end of Coney Mall by The Vortex plot of land so they’re probably just trying to get a good idea of multiple areas in the park and haven’t settled on anything yet.

Snoopy's Soap Box Racers & Camp Snoopy Reviews
Orion742 replied to KIghostguy's topic in Kings Island
I finally got to ride Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers a few weeks ago and it’s a really fun ride! Very smooth. I really like the log cabin station. I don’t know if it was just me but I did get a little dizzy going backwards but it wasn’t too bad. Great addition! -
Also you used to be able to find the FunBox by selecting shop all parks but with the updated website it seems the FunBox is no more.

https://youtu.be/lLOYQmgzWE8?feature=shared There does appear to be a little bit of earth work.

I was thinking about it the other day but what if they were looking at stretching the Mack tower coaster concept across the front gate and have the station be in Invertigo’s plot of land. It has an inverted launch so theoretically the inverted launch could stretch over the entrance of the park. Just a possibility I thought of.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Orion742 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I actually really like the new logo. I did not expect them to go with a CF inspired logo especially since the Six Flags logo is so famous. I’m all for it though it looks amazing! I really do hope that the merger benefits both companies and we continue to see the old CF parks treated the same after the merger. Personally I hope the top five old CF park names don’t change as they already have great attendance and guests know them by their name already. I could see the Six Flags name benefiting the smaller CF parks though. I also really like the decision to make Carowinds the new flagship park of the new combined company. It’s in a great location and the park already feels very modern. I do wonder if Carowinds’ name will change since it will be the new flagship park. -
Both are very good coasters and huge icons for their respective parks. I’m interested to hear everyone’s opinion!

Man Struck By Roller Coaster at Kings Island Today

I’ve heard that Banshee is back open today. Can anybody confirm this is true? -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Orion742 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Agreed. I hope that whatever goes there has launches and inversions because we lost two coasters that invert in 2018 and 2019. That only leaves us with Flight of Fear, which always has a massive line. Invertigo isn’t a very comfortable ride in my opinion. I’ve come off dizzy after every time I’ve ridden it recently so I’ve been skipping it. Banshee is a good ride and definitely seems to be the best option for inversions at the park but it’s also an invert and not a sit down. I really feel like we’re missing a sit down coaster with inversions and I hope whatever we get next will fill that gap. A modern sit down launch coaster is really what we need right now in my opinion. -
I do worry that its days are numbered. It’s a very popular ride whenever it’s running but I haven’t seen it running very often when I’m at the park. I wouldn’t be surprised if whenever Action Zone gets a refresh if they replace it with a Zamperla Drop Tower.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Orion742 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I 100% agree. I’m not into spiny rides myself as I get very motion sick however Time Traveler did not feel at all nauseating. Even after I rode it multiple times in a row. However I can’t speak for Ride to Happiness as I have not ridden it yet. I would be perfectly happy with a tamer Mack Xtreme spinner like Time Traveler. It’s in my top ten it’s that good. -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Orion742 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
If the surveying near The Vortex plot of land is leading to where our next coaster will be going then I don’t see it being the Mack tower coaster or indoor/outdoor coaster as they wouldn’t fit easily. I believe that if it is The Vortex plot of land then it’s either the B&M giga dive or the family thrill coaster. Or it could be something entirely different as Canada’s Wonderland’s new coaster does not seem to be one of the coasters they listed on their survey. -
Soak City Upgrades & Possible Expansion 2025
Orion742 replied to WoodVengeance's topic in Kings Island
A clone of Moosehorn Falls could be really cool at SC but I think the family slide collection that Schlitterbahn just got would be a great fit for SC. -
Agreed. I mentioned it above but the concrete platform could work with a few flat ride models Zamperla makes. And we know that CF and Zamperla have a really good relationship. Should be interesting.
-
Woah! This is actually a lot bigger than I anticipated. My first thought is possibly a new restaurant however Meteor Canteen is right near by so maybe this could be a Coke Freestyle or drink stand? If we’re thinking rides in this plot of land I think a Zamperla NebulaZ could possibly work here but we’ll have to wait and see. Love all the park improvements, keep up the great work KI!

Is this from a reliable source? I’m not at the park today to check.
