  1. I for one cannot stand Gatekeeper or Wild Eagle's restraint system, by the end of the ride I was miserable with pain, not to say I didn't enjoy the ride though. I am sure B&M will eventually figure out a way to prevent these restraints from absolutely killing your collar bone and lats.
  2. I also just discovered this as well, once again browsing through their photos on Facebook. Rocky Mountain Coasters is doing renovations on Thunder Run, anxious to see how that turns out.
  3. Keep in mind guys, I have not been to that many parks so these opinions may vary. Best Amusement Park - Cedar Point Best Theme Park - Islands of Adventure Best Wood Coaster - Voyage, Holiday World Best Steel Coaster - Millennium Force Best Flatride - Drop Tower, Kings Island Best "New" Ride - White Lightning, Fun Spot America Best Park Food - Busch Gardens Williamsburg Most Beautiful Park - Busch Gardens Williamsburg Best Water Ride - Mile High Falls, Kentucky Kingdom Best Waterpark - Dolly's Splash Country, Dollywood Best Park Staff - Holiday World Best Kids Area - Planet Snoopy, Kings Island Best Live E - Dollywood Cleanest Park - Busch Gardens Williamsburg Best Halloween Event - Halloween Haunt, Kings Island Best Carousel - Grand Carousel, Kings Island Best Dark Ride - Curse of DarKastle, Busch Gardens Wiliamsburg Best Park Rail Road - CP&LE Railroad, Cedar Point Best Ride Operations - Dollywood Best Observation Tower - Eiffel Tower, Kings Island
  4. I don't know if any of you all are fans of Kentucky Kingdom on Facebook but if you have been keeping up with the pictures they have been posting it is looking unreal the changes they are making already to the park. Mile High Falls looks great.
  5. I would probably resurrect the Paramount Years, starting around 1996, as that is my first memory of Kings Island I have. Those were the days when the park became more of a destination to me. I can remember watching America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills (1994) and always just wanting to get to Kings Island and ride, ride and ride all day. But I guess it is kind of hard to resurrect a childhood, or even a childhood memory, so overall just the theming and overall environment of the park during that time.
  6. Favorite: A Beast Wood: A Beast Steel: Millennium Force, with Maverick being a close second, as well as XL-200 All Time Favorite: Still probably have to go with The Beast at night.
  7. I love it, they are wasting zero time getting this thing up. Can't wait to see the construction during Haunt this year.
  8. The restraints were the only part of the announcement I did NOT like. Both Gatekeeper and Wild Eagle's restraints absolutely killed my shoulders. I am 6 foot 4 and by the end of the ride when it comes into the brake run it is very tight and it hurts to even attempt to move. They are not going to keep me from riding it but it might limit my rides in a day, hopefully not the ride experience itself.
  9. Drove all the way from Richmond for just 2 hours in the park and to see the announcement and I was not disappointed. Kings Island really put their best foot forward in the announcement and with the new ride. I for one am a huge fan of inverts, I believe the forces are thrilling and the ride layouts are different making the ride much more fun. Cannot wait to ride Banshee in 2014. Also, the teaser video was pretty awesome as well.
  10. I have considered driving up from Richmond as soon as I get off work just for about 2 hours in the park and the announcement, not sure if I'll be in attendance yet so I will definitely be keeping an eye on this site.
  11. You have to take world-record breaking with a grain of salt. It could theoretically be a invert with the world's largest corskscrew, or the world's largest cobra roll, many possibilities here.
  12. ^Last time I was on Delirium the restraints clicked and as far as I know they still click then they are lowered.
  13. I saw Robb Alvey post on the TPR Twitter account last night a video that proved that the restrains did not 'click'.
  14. Wow, this is truly one of the worst days for amusement parks, this and the Cedar Point incident, I am speechless. Want me to add to this even more, I am going to bold this so more people will read; My best friend since 5th grade just returned from Daytona Beach this past weekend, only to tell me he was going to get to visit Six Flags over Texas this week. I was so happy for him, I told him he MUST ride the NEW Texas Giant. He was at the park on Thursday the 18th, the day before the event and happened to ride the Texas Giant. These were his words, "Most airtime I have ever gotten on a coaster, second best drop to Millennium Force and third favorite woodie." Ridiculous to think that he had ridden this the day before it all happened, just like how I drove by Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom for a school baseball game on the same day that the incident on Hellavator occurred. My prayers go out to the families affected by this tragedy and hopefully this will lead to many more safety measures on coasters everywhere. I have always been fond of Texas Giant ever since I watched it on America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills, this is such a shame. After watching the news report it is almost surreal to see the scene as the ride is closed and crews are surrounding the ride, just devastating.
  15. I cannot help but believe that 100% this is going to be a B&M Giga, for some reason by soul will not let it rest on my mind.

    Your Music Taste

Okay so I am going to try and kep this short and sweet but with me and music that is not easy. I just actually arrived home from Rock on the Range in Columbus, amazing time as always. I can listen to almost anything, except for majority of Rap. My favorite genre is Heavy Metal/Hard Rock/Metalcore. I love old school Metal, but then I LOVE country music as well, not as much as metal. but it is up there. A bunch of bands at ROTR caught my attention this year and I have given them a much better listen now. I have been to country concerts as well as Heavy Metal shows and I love going to all of them. Ask me anything ya want to know about my musical taste, I am very open to discussion.
  17. If I am not mistaken didn't Steel Force get the signage that was going to be used for Mantis (Banshee)?
  18. Ill be the first to admit, I thought it may have been something to deal with things that are new on Vortex this year.
  19. I for one look forward to seeing progression pictures throughout the season. I can see Coasterbob62 making a video that shows the progression of construction as well.
  20. I actually heard it was gearing (no pun intended) towards an old style racing theme. They were going to name it "The Red Wing."
  21. In all this hustle and bustle I forgot about a trending topic nationwide it seems, Iron Horse. Rocky Mountain Coasters? Outlaw Run type perhaps?
  22. The only thing I can think of is something that our neighbors to the north do not have. I do not believe it will be a Wingrider (Thank goodness), could possibly be a Leviathan type (Doubtful), or maybe a GCI type woodie. My hopes and prayers are either towards something to break the 300 foot barrier, or an Intamin plug n' play.
  23. Ride op on the Tower elevator today on the way down had a guest ask her "Are the Go-Karts still here?" To which she replied, "No they are removed for the new ride." About 8 of us made the awwwww gesture. Take that with a grain of salt, but I also would not be surprised to see a new area expansion. Anything is possible.
  24. Backlot was having several issues today. It was down whenever I walked by it, go around the corner and saw it running, so we ran back to hopefully find a short wait. Got in line and wasn't too long, waited about 20 minutes, then got back to the station brakes and BOOM, down again. They came and released our restraints after about 15-20 minutes.
