  1. This is one of the most sad photos in this thread. Mainly because if you saw this photo now you would see no water, no Wayne's World and you would probably see someone smoking with a sign that says designated smoking area. I still find that area of the park peaceful though, nice place to go grab a drink and sit there and unwind.
  2. This brought back some memories of the old (good) TR:TR. Thank you very much for posting it.

    Tower Johnny

Coming from someone who half believes in ghosts but fully believes there is something out there, I have never been the least creeped out by the Island at night. I guess for some reason it's only dark for about an hour your in the park anyways and I am usually with friends who are talking and chatting away so I have never really got the chance to notice.
  4. Thank you for this photo most of all Paul. We are nearing closer to the ever elusive photos of KC's queue and station.
  5. Love the photos Paul. The last one really gives you a good idea of how the ride looked with the lake. It is really eye opening when you think of how it looks now compared to that photo.
  6. Just realized that I have been using the mobile version on my desktop the whole time and didn't realize it, awesome.

    A diversion

AGH! I will be at work, might try to sneak away and get a few questions in. Thanks again for the heads up Don!
  8. Hard to see but they are indeed there. Never knew this photo would come in handy.... EASY-Diamondback's test seat HARD-Shake Rattle N' Roll YELLOW car EXPERT-A coaster train stuck
  9. Same for me, that is a first of seeing that building as it used to be. I never actually remember it looking like that.
  10. Not to mention the huge letters that used to read 'Fightertown USA' across the roadway when you walked under it.
  11. Terp, you took the words right out of my mouth, as my signature for a while in the past year or so indicated. Agreed. I also miss the Characters roaming the park and I don't know if it is where I have just gotten older or not but I also miss the way the park used to feel like a different world to me when I was young. Cedar Fair has done a great job though, I give them props as well.
  12. I am definitely expressing interest in the FoF photo and am one who is more than ready to see some more photos.
  13. I was referring to the split in the queue line in my post but it's okay, carry on.
  14. Been a couple days so here goes EASY-Diamondback Splashdown from The Beast plaza HARD-Any midway of the park during a rainy day EXPERT-The Beast Front or Rear of the Train sign
  15. Got my plaque for Christmas and it is a nice thing to have. I am truly greatful for receiving that item this year.
  16. Someone refresh me on what we are looking at in that photo, I cannot tell.
  17. Cedar Point's Challenge Track (May not be the correct name) was a very good go kart track when I drove on it at my last visit. Then I took a spin on TA and it was just dull. The Karts were not very fast and the lay out of the track made it seem like you stuck to one path and it was impossible to lose. I am liking the future for Action Zone, I think now however it is lacking that one major attraction it seems every area a the park has. Well, it hasn't had that since 2009, but none the less.
  18. ^Looks like Subway needs some TLC to it's shingling.
  19. Love seeing Coney Mall looking like that, it seems as if it goes on forever and ever in that photo. If you look at The Racers' queue house you can tell that at one time it accommodated really long lines, even though I seem to remember one day during the summer the queue line was all full and back out into the midway.
  20. The first couple times I rode it were my favorite. Just seeing the red and yellow trains menacingly roll into the station and getting in and clanking down those huge premier lap bars. That spill they played in the station also still puts chills down me every time I hear it. If anyone has that spiel would you please post it by the way. You would then roll slowly out of the station and hit the lift hill and the clank of the chain was deafening, then what seemed like an eternity later you would crest the hill and begin that dive all the way down. One thing I will never forget however is the first time I ever rode SoB. I was riding and my uncle and aunt were in front of me and as we hit the mid course brakes my uncle turned to me and said, "Here comes the loop." As soon as he said that the supports parted and in front of me all I saw was a huge wooden structure and sitting there right in front of me was that HUGE loop. The rest was history. I would like to thank you Son of Beast for all the memories and you will be missed.
  21. I love seeing the old park photos and especially the ones back in the Paramount era.
  22. The gopher under Vortex EASY: BLSC Splash (Dry) ending HARD: Any ride's queue line on a rainy day EXPERT: The M&M's machine in Drop Tower's queue
  23. I can still remember the Nick Splat City from when I was younger. Thanks again for posting all of these photos Paukl, you have some truly outstanding shots.
