I remember working a BAFF day and it was fairly nuts. I have had busy days, but when you struggle to get through the crowd of people because it's so thick, it's exhausting. I remember staying at the park until like 5 am that night just to try and get ready for the next day...

I dont ever remember getting quarters back, but I just bummed a locker with someone else. I can tell you this for sure though, before anyone can ride Borg, they do make you secure all loose articles. If that means you need a locker,then you get a locker. There was no holding your hat, or sandals, or whatever in your hand. They dod let you put a few small things in a bin though, but nothing expensive.

It was about 3 or 4 years ago when I worked there with them. Then that guy was indeed most likely me. I am, by far, no where near as good at the game as I was then. I am out of practice.

I have to make a quick note to Marty McFly, the original downtown idea poster said it would be outside the park, hence no paying except for shopping. It's not a bad idea, but just not for KI, IMO. Just not a nig enough park. However, it could allow for some interesting things to go there, like more franchised restraunt type deals. As far as Top Gun, it needs a good cleaning. It may be a bit short for a coaster, but it's a fine ride. Just clean it up and fix it up and it's good to go.

You guys are getting ripped off if you're going to concerts over $40, IMO. I spent $43 to see no less than 12 bands play at ozzfest just last year. You don't need to play the games while at the park. We are there to provide a challenge, some more so than others, and a chance to win some prizes. Sure, someone may walk away with a small prize after paying a bit, but others win on just a few dollars. This is true for kids and adults. It is always hard to tell a kid they didn't win, but as I said, adults continue to spend after losing 5, 6, or 7 times as well. They want to prove they can do it. Usually it's their group that provokes them into continuing to play, not the games person. On the note of being loud, I'll admit some of our guys can be loud. I will tell you this, we won't get offended if you ignore us. We realize it's going to happen. Buchers, how long ago was your church at the park? I am pretty sure that guy who could walk up the ladder with no hands was me seeing as only me and one other person could do it about 2-3 years ago.

Maureen's a very helpful person. I gotta thank her for the help on my senior project last semester. She called me while away on business to help me get it done. Thanks a bunch Maureen.

Cory, you can never say you won't have problems. I have been with the park and I sometimes think I've seen and heard all the complaints, but then something happens. You will have upset folks and you will have folks yell. You just have to deal with each situation as it comes. As gamesguy08 said, sometimes you just have to keep moving on. Don't let one thing bother you, if you do, inevitably it will drag your whole day down.

Depends. Usually, the first full week is kinda slow, but it has had its busy moments.

As some of you said, Cedar Point brings in more money. While i am not 100% that it's true, it only makes sense if it is, since KI doesn't bring in nearly as many outside visitors as CP; visitors who simply come in one or two days and spend lots of money. KI has a lot of pass holders. They don't spend as much money. A record breaking coaster may bring in those one time visitors, but that's debatable, I think.

As far as I have understood the law, we should still allow smoking. Basically, we are not surrounded by walls on four sides as an open air stadium is and we are outside. I am not sure how it will or will not work at the park though, we will see. Either way, doesn't bother me. The signs on all the buildings dont say no smoking in the park, just no smoking in the building. People may just have to walk a bit farther to do their smoking.

I don't remember it tasting that bad, but the problem was, it was clear Pepsi. Now, that being said, most folks drink soda/cola/pop from the can. Why would I bother buying crystal Pepsi would I could have regular Pepsi? I had it out of a can once, couldn't see the clear part, wasn't concerned enough to put into glass and actually look either.

I used to have a really favorite spot that was destroyed by the building of IJST. Before the park starts for the year, walking from right behind the Eiffel Tower towards the floral clock (which wouldnt usually have it's floral yet). You could see some of the trees starting to bloom again right around the Antique cars. The grass was starting to warm up from a long winters rest. Everything just looked so peaceful. Of course, as soon as the park opened, the image was lost, but I always enjoyed working on setting up the park and walking down that path, but it doesn't have the same pizzaz now that IJST is there.

Billy, when I was at the park today, it appeared they were cleaning the track. I cannot confirm track is going up, but I know they are at least prepping track it seems.

I am not positive, but I do believe that's the Ohio, but down the river more. By the way, its still there as of 1230 pm.

I think I know where you heard that from. The removal of Viking Fury and the addition of an inverted swinging ship was never the plan, regardless of what some people choose to post on other sites. I am not entirely sure, but I once heard that a swinging inverter ship would never happen in the state of ohio because of law. I once heard that a ride such as the viking fury could not go all the way around in the state of ohio. Anyone know the truth? I would have never believed that rumor because of what I have been told is law.

Well, seeing as I know games, i can tell you a games shift Early - 9:45-6 Swing - 1230-close late - 4-close However, as I noted in a PM to you, the warehouse works different shifts.

I know this may sound crazy, and yes, I am aware that blacktop does it get quite hot, but it is softer on the feet. Cement is harder and therefore harder on someone to walk on all day. I don't mind getting cups of water versus extremely sore feet, but that's just me. I think most of the things you have said though were very well thought out. I dont think the pay per rides are moving any time soon though. I still say the park needs a new paint job pretty much all over.

Billy, I don't think he's necessarily referring to new high tech super sweet games (although I would not be opposed to that) but take a look at our coney mall games and game signs. They look and feel as if they never been improved since the park was opened. I say it every year, they at least need a paint job. I do like what Cedar Point did to their games. New look and feel, very modern, yet we're stuck in the past. As far as the rest of the coney mall, just like the games, it just feels way to old. Everything in coney mall needs at least some sort of fresh paint. Same with I-street. I love the feel of I street, but fresh paint will only help to keep it looking clean. The park, sadly, is showing its age. I am not saying age is bad, but it needs to be freshened up a bit.

I must be too young to have seen those or remember them. It was actually an old game. I dont remember exactly when they were done away with though. Anyways, Cobra was just great. I loved it. It was fun to ride a stand up coaster, even though they kinda phased out. Wasn't KC the first looping stand up? Or Maybe just in the states? I forget.

Sorry to digress, but Top Gun at Carowinds had that last year and it's really cool to see. It's a pretty cool thing to see.

I can tell you that our guys must be 18 and have a valid drivers license as we require a lot of driving to move stock to games. We typically do not need a fork lift in Games.

A Games Warehouse associate position I might not be able to fully elaborate on but I do know alot. They get paid a reasonable amount of money. Sundays are obviously the hardest days with inventory, since warehouse mainly runs that function. Pretty much warehouse people deliver stuff that the different Games areas order, mainly plush, and then on sundays they do inventory. Warehouse shifts normally dont run too far into the day, I would venture to guess 7am-5 or 6 on a sunday and most likely alot earlier on the other days. As always scheduling is extremely flexible, just like all games positions. The Games Warehouse is locate behind Flight of Fear back by where the trail of terror in fearfest is. The info provided here is only somewhat accurate. The games warehouse does come in earlier than the rest of the department, usually around 8 am. They are in charge of delivering stock to games just about every morning. They must also ensure that the inventory in our warehouses is accurate to what our inventory control says we should have. They help with the inventory control process, but they do not mainly run the inventory control. That is done by another individual, and our in park supervisors. Warehouse mainly helps relieve the stress of the in park supervisor of counting their inventory and still trying to run an area. They do this by counting a few of their games, while the supervisor counts the rest. The warehouse will occassionally get out before 5 or 6, unless there are other tasks to be completed. Warehouse usually helps out with any tasks that need completing before they go home for the night. This could include almost any sort of task, cleaning if it's needed, helping put up new signs, etc.... The team is also a fairly tight knit, close group. If you really are considering games warehouse as an option, PM me, as it is my area this year. I don't want to take up more space here.

Well, I will be there and in the exact same area as you... imagine that.

I called them yesterday and got nothing. I think, just as gameguy said, they are still only open Friday through Monday 9-6. I imagine that come Feb, they'll be open a bit more, but that's simply a guess.
