  1. well, since wikipedia is such a reliable source all the time, it says that the thing could get up to about 45mph. That seems a bit fast, so maybe that's down a steep hill, but who knows.
  2. Please remember that Juries do award money to the most interesting cases. The lady that spilled coffee on her lap, millions.
  3. tuba, it was not a large truck. It was a simple truck that you would typically see rolling down the highway. It simply had a trailer behind it, with IJST coaster cars.
  4. Sorry, it didn't look like a park issued truck or anything, but they do usually take the magnetic tags on the side off when on the highway. It was red though, maybe a ford f something. It was pretty big, maybe a 350, but I am not sure. I can tell you the guy driving was a little older and appeared to have a beard going.
  5. If I heard the story right, it was during start up one day, but that's just a version I heard. There may be more than one version.
  6. Not sure what the TTD joke is on that, but I can comment on "Disaster" Transport. The joke on TTD was about the big dragster wheels that used to be on the back of the trains. One set of them fell off one of the trains. If I am not mistaken, didn't that wheel cause a little damage?
  7. Oh man, that's the worst pun ever.... Well, it wasn't that bad. But wow.
  8. That is why I figured I would mention it. I only saw two cars on the trailer. Both were a little faded... Hence why I thought paint job, but I didn't know if anyone knew something definitive.
  9. well, you know, for sure, without a doubt, they were coaster cars... Any idea where they were going? Please, simply answer the question if you know. If you don't say so. I am just wondering. Maybe a paint job? New logo? Any ideas? That's all I want to know.
  10. what are you talking about? YES. In my very first post I said they were indeed IJST cars. They were not simply mini cooper cars or I would not have even bothered posting.
  11. no, that was the time frame. 1:15pm or so. Not mph. And no, they were clearly KI ones. They were carried on a trailer behind a truck and the tops were down (as if ours had tops) and it was snowing today. Doubt anyone is going to carry a trailor with a couple of coopers with the top down if the plan on driving or selling them. The KI logo was where the plates on a real car go and the seats were simply metal bars, as if all the padding had been taken off. I am simply wondering where they may have been going. You guys dont have to believe me, but just the same as you, I know a KI thing when I see one.
  12. So, I was driving down 71 South around 115-130 and I spotted a truck with a trailer on the back of it. This was just a standard truck, maybe a Ford or something. Anyways, on the trailer it pulled a couple of IJST cars. Had to make sure I was seeing things right, so I slowed up a bit and sure enough, on the IJST cars plates, you could see an old fading logo. Any one have any ideas where they may have been going?
  13. I never asked about the park itself, but I have been there numerous times, years ago, but nothing to recently. From what I remember about the area, those cornfields used to be used all the time. It was someone's farm. I imagine they are still in use and i doubt the owner wants to sell his land, which would be less crop. I can't imagine he didn't want to expand, but he was fine with the park the way it was, small, nice, family oriented, and didn't feel a need to take over another families livelihood. That's just one man's opinion though.
  14. Avatar, you're always full of great things to say. When a child is a minor, parents should help their child if need be, but they should try to figure it out solve the problem first, like the story. We all have to remember, minors are indeed that, minors, still young, still trying to learn things. Sure, some minors here may be able to face any conflict head on with no problem, but others may not. The parents try to teach them these skills.
  15. Billy, I was at the park sunday... I mentioned earlier that there were no pieces there, not that I could see anyways, and you can see that whole parking lot pretty easily from anywhere in any part of that parking lot. So, even if we weren't sure here, a trip would not be needed either, unless to confirm the already confirmed.
  16. And here I was going to let people know I was just at the park and didn't see anything in that parking lot... You all beat me to it.
  17. Well, I went and filled out an application yesterday. Yes, a whole application and I was in games and a manager. So, it seems everyone is filling out all the paperwork this year. Not like it takes a long time to do it. Funny thing was though, I have already been placed but they wished me good luck during my interview process.
  18. we have to remember that "new" rides will always have longer lines, typically in the 2+ hour range, especially on weekends and holidays. This is nothing new. Plan accordingly
  19. I do not know anything about X-flight or GL, but, after hearing that X-flight is very similar to Borg, I would have to assume that, despite it's problems at GL, they could be addressed at a new park, hence the move. We saw this directly when Borg moved from California to Carolina. Stealth was a bit much for the maintenance crew, but Carowinds was able to keep up with the maintenace and runs fine (for the most part). If that's true, could it not also be true that we might have a more reputable maintenance staff than GL and could, on a daily basis, take better care of the ride? Someone correct my info if it's wrong, but that has been what I have heard about Borg.
  20. He had the oppurtunity, took it, had money taken out of his check and has not received anything in return. I have not seen one yet either. I do not know what happened. It would have been better to not pay anyone anything and not receive anything then to pay for something you never get. I think Combat wins.
  21. Tycoon, I lived darn near close to where you are living. You hopefully know where Addyston is and I lived just above that. I had slightly less than an hour long drive (mainly because I was no where near an easy highway access) and it is tough to go to work when the gas is getting more and more expensive. I do love what I do. I eventually had to move to Mason. I probably spend as much in heat as I did in gas, so I think it works out for me, I get to sleep in now.
  22. I have been to carowinds every year since the eagles have moved too. Granted, I have friends down there, but I ride the ride every year.
  23. I will say this, please let us know if there is a problem. We might not be aware of the situation. Please share with us. As I said, I love hearing from people. I talk with guests almost everyday the park is open. They tell me good things and things to work on. A stated, please, PM concerns. I will do my best to address them as they come to me.
  24. I try to stay away from things of this nature, but I feel everyone has gone to far. As some of you may or may not know, I am a games manager. I also seem to recall a level of game "hatred" for lack of a better word, by many of you here. Here's the deal. Yes, we do have guests say they wish basketballs were deflated; that they're a nuisance, etc... Yes, we have people write us and say our sales staff is annyoing, pressuring, etc... HOWEVER, we also get many compliments in this same regard. Parents have written to us complimenting us on the prizes their child has won, even basketballs. We have had people tell us that they do not care for basketballs given away, but realize that the person who won really needs to be aware of what they are doing with that prize ball once they've won. We have received numerous compliments on our staff being very professional, etc... Everyone is going to have a different view of games, just like you will find people who like, let's say, LaRosas and some will not. Some people will be annoyed by certain things, other people ignore us, and still others love what we do. The point of this response is not to make someone mad or angry, but I know it will happen, but rather to urge everyone to drop this matter. If you want to see King's Island get rid of games, you may state that. If you have some personal issue, please don't post it here. PM me if you like. I talk with numerous guests about issues via phone, email, in person, etc, and have no problem doing that here too. I am asking that you all get back on topic. This is not a games bash thread. This is a thread to see what you would like to see from King's Island. Let's keep it that way.
  25. oops... I just assumed since I had ridden that Top Gun... sorry.
