  1. I know you're not supposed to vote for your own department, but I had to represent for food service. Thanks to all my associates, crew leaders, and sups, who gave it there all this season. Btw...Klockster, where does the well staffed part come in? We were hardly even ever had mediocre staffing, let alone were we ever well staffed. I think I need to switch departments, lol, j/k.
  2. I have to agree with Titanic on some things. I unfortunately haven't gotten to experience much of the event because I've worked every minute of it thus far. Personally I think the park looks incredible. I never experienced the first winterfest, but I think the park looks beautiful now. I have to agree with Titanic that the first weekend was somewhat disappointing. The attendance projections from our marketing department were a little off as they have been all season, but our marketing staff is very good and I'm sure they will figure out how to fill the park up. I agree that the pricing for this event is certainly a little steep and not very affordable for the typical family of four. But even with that, I don't understand all of the bashing. I know I just said this, but I really think the park looks incredible. I'm very impressed with the amount of work that was put in to make this event what it is. It is just dissappointing that we haven't gotten very many people in to see it yet, but I'm sure we will. The food for Winterfest is very good as well. For those of you who haven't been in the Festhaus yet, you should check it out. No more pizza and cheesesticks here. Winterfesthaus has Turkey, Roast Beef, Mashed Potatos/gravy, dressing, lasagna, mac & cheese, green beans, and delicious dinner rolls. Carts has stepped up tremendously from the traditional dip n dots, pretzels, and bottled drinks. Carts now features baked potatos, turkey legs, bread bowls with delectable soups, roasted nuts, graters ice cream, buskin baked goods, and lots of other goodies. And of course the best stand in the park, Bubba Gump's, is still doing it big with most of their desirable treats such as fish, shrimp, Montgomery inn ribs, and the newest addtion, crab cakes. Lt. Dan's bar has also raised the bar with a whole new assortment of drinks such as Irish coffee and hot chocolate, Cafe Ameretto, spiced wine, hot buttered rum, and all the orginaly thirst quinching drinks like their deliecious margaritas, and the full line of drafts and bottles including two new additions...Heiniken and Coor's Winterfest Ale. Check it out. Ok, somehow that turned into an advertisement for KI food, but try it, its good stuff. Bottom line, I think Winterfest is here to stay. Viacom dropped a ton of money on this thing and we've put countless hours into setting it up. I think that we will work out all these quirks and that by the end of the year the return of winterfest will have been a success. I also think it will be bigger and better in the years to come. By the way, everyone keeps talking about the orginal winterfest. Was anyone around for the first year of the orginal winterfest??? How did it compare to this year's so far?
  3. PKI doesn't own the refrigeration equipment for the fountain, it is owned by a contractor. And I came across the old chiller from the kiddie rink a couple of weeks ago, its in storage, but I don't think it works anymore.
  4. If you go to the pki website's rides page, theres a pic of one of the B&M Top Guns. Oh, what I would give for a B&M at KI.
  5. Thank God...we need a slower Saturday
  6. I agree with NickRoed... He're my list of top launches that I've been on 1. Volcano (catches you off guard and goes strait up) 2. Hypersonic (very smooth, you just take off) 3. Top Thrill (feels like a jet taking off, awesome!) 4. Greased lightning (rode it at SFog and SFKK after they moved it..) 5. Flight of Fear (both, pki's was my first launch ever, it was incredible) 6. Hulk (6th best launch, best coaster ever though 7. IJST (the slow launch goes well with the themeing)
  7. Dude, they reuse pics for everything. If you look at the site, the pic of Face off is actually Invertigo at PGA. Also if you watch PKD's Tomb raider video, you'll notice the striking simularity to our own Tomb Raider. There's lots of these subtle differences if you look for them.
  8. I too was excited expecting to see Vortex pics....Why'd you have to build us up to tear us down???
  9. Never been on KK, but I think Top Thrill is awesome. Also, I know this is a little off subject, but I finally got on Hypersonic XLC this summer and I thought it was awesome, a lot shorter than the two mentioned above, but very fun non the less. Explosive launch!
  10. Does anyone know how long Max Air's cycle is at CP? Is it the same as Delerium or longer/shorter?
  11. Here's my question...when my wallet gets next to my name tag, which is magnetic, it totally screws up my bank card, ids, etc... Why doesn't this happen when riding DZ?

    Wings

    You're half way right
  13. You were talking about Cafe P and the Bakery. Which was converted into Starbucks...We currently don't sell any of the pastries but look for them to make a return at some point in the future. The other location you were talking about is indeed called It's Fried. That location sells Funnel Cakes, Ice Cream, Chicken Tenders, Cheese Sticks, and Curly Fries.
  14. PKI's Bubba Gumps also offers Montgomery inn ribs, Chicken tenders, corndogs, House and Caesar Salads, and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. Lt. Dan's Bar on the back side of the building offers several appetizers including Mega Nachos, All American Cheese Fries, and Chicken wings; Hot, plain, or BBQ in addition to a vast array of delecious adult beverages.
  15. More than enough, hell come for three days.
  16. ^ LMAO...Also I have to agree with you Player, Parking lot coaster is better than no coaster. But come on, if you spend millions of dollars on a coaster, couldn't you at least spend a couple g's on diggin up the parking lot and planting some grass seeds? Hell, I'll do it. Just give me a Jack hammer and some grass seeds, and a lifetime pass to all the SF parks.
  17. I have to agree and disagree...I definately think that you're right about the 3rd age of coasters being intense themeing and lots of entertainment. But I dont think we will ever fully replace our classic coasters. And while tallest and fastest will no longer be the fad, it will always be looked upon as a favorable experience. just like Magnum has remained unforgettable, so will MF. And many coasters like it. The unique experience of being shot 120+mph on TTD and KK will also remain something to be cherrished.

    2006 Rumors

Screamscape has been very accurate in the past...Also, How is IJST classified as a wildmouse?
  19. We should have an adventure land! It would have 6 coasters all themed after animals and previous rides...B&M Flyer (Phenox), B&M Inverted (The Bat), B&M Stand up (Cobra...the return), B&M dive machine (Screemin Demon), B&M Floorless (the Jaguar), and an intimin launched with a lot more hills (Cheetah)...Hey one can dream can't he?
  20. Was there a not Saddam option? Hey, What if you voted for yes and no, where did your vote go?
  21. some people are a little slow... anywho, if Six flags bought Ki, I don't think it would be quite as bad as SFKK. But not as good as PKI. SFKI would be interesting though. I mean, really I doubt they would take any of our existing rides out, and if we're lucky, maybe they'd throw 5 coasters in in two years like they did at GL. And maybe we'd get a wild life park again. I think things would be a little better of financially at SFKI than it was at SFWOA because we have a much higher attendence than they do. It would suck getting all those cheezy sf themes though. well unless of course Superman was a 300 foot intiman, and Batman was a B&M floorless or flyer. The would rename face off to Two face or Deja Vu. I would be ****ed if they renamed The Beast though. I think there could be some deaths as a result of that. Of course this is all the optimisitic view...in a real world, they would come in, destroy our park, give us one or two good rides, and then leave us, jacked up and pennieless.
