  1. I wouldn't mind having a B&M Dive Machine in the park, such a ride would be almost exclusive to the United States, because I know that there are only two in existence. Purchasing a good dive machine and theming it well, it could make a GREAT thrill ride...I can see lots of head choppers and close calls as part of the track design.
  2. This is true about Six Flags, although the company did state that instead of building huge rides as fast as possible, they're going to focus more on customer satisfaction and cleanliness, which I can imagine also includes the details that makes Cedar Point one of the best amusement parks in the world. The Point is very clean, the grass is always cut, flowers are watered and landscape is well maintained. It's amazing how much of a difference landscape up-keep can make in a park.

I'll agree with that. However, the park does have the 3rd and 4th longest rollercoasters in the world (Beast and Sonny). Wait...what happened to Steel Dragon 2000? It's not on the RCDB list anymore. The site says it's been SBNO since late August. I think either the next coaster or the coaster after that that the park builds will be a good, long people eater. Something like a B&M or an Intamin would do just that. However, with the new "Hollywoodizing" scope the park has, I'm anxious to see what the park's next roller coaster move will be.
  4. That would be nice. I know the Beach across the "street" has a basketball court next to that REALLY tall slide. I'm not sure if they also have volleyball, but it would really convey the feeling of the real beach. As for the issue of sand, it gets dusty after being smushed (it turns into powder, just like granulated sugar --> powdered sugar). However, in Science Olympiad, we test the strength of balsa structures by adding either sand or beaded glass to a bucket hung under the structure. The beaded glass is REALLY nice, not crusty, and it doesn't turn into dust or powder. It looks EXACTLY like sand, but there's no mess and it doesn't fly around in the air. My question is whether or not the park could use this stuff as sand in Boomerang Bay. I'm not sure how much the stuff costs, but it would be a really good sand substitute.
  5. Ahh...unless you want to have your Mini Cooper doing corkscrews and other inversions, don't count on Flight of Fear being re-themed. In my opinion, it has the best theming of any coaster in the park (Top Gun would have had this spot if the extended queue was still open). King's Island has TONS of space "out back" for a coaster, why not use it? Plus, I would most certainly miss phrases such as, "I feel like a hard drive that was just reformatted!" "WHAT THE BLAZES WAS THAT?!" "PLEEEEEZE....Dick!!" "How the sam hell do they know what kinda connectors we use?"
  6. Thanks for clearing up the confusion.
  7. I had a question that you all may be able to answer. I got a 2004 Season Pass last year, and we were told that we would receive free parking. My pass says "PARKING" on it. Does this means totally free parking or just free parking in the Gold Pass lot?

BRILLIANT!!!! 16 Inversions...BRILLIANT!!! Seatbelts instead of REAL restraints...BRILLIANT!!!
  9. I think it really depends on the size of the ride, where it is going to be, and just whenever the park wants construction started. If the ride is going to be a bigger ride, then I'm guessing that we may see the park placing markers, spraying paint and moving dirt sometime in May or maybe June, but if it is a smaller ride and is going to totally replace something (which I doubt) or it will be in a place where terrain isn't so friendly, they may not start until mid to late summer. I think it all just depends, and we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Three words: Giga Wild Mouse. MAKE IT HAPPEN PEOPLE...
  11. Man, it sounds like God and Mother Nature don't want the Island to do much business from what you folks are talking about...like I said, this year is the PERFECT year for a waterpark with Austrailian theming!!! It'll be great!!! There'll be cicadas floatin' down the lazy river, I may actually forget that I'm still in Ohio...I can't WAIT!!! "Candy corn, I think. Corn that tastes like candy; I can't wait......SON OF A B****!!!" -Lewis Black
  12. My aunt told me the same story several years back about this event, but I have since heard otherwise. From what I understand, there was a water circulation pump of some type (maybe for a fountain or maybe a water airaetor (sp) that had malfunctioned and none of the guests (or staff for that matter) noticed it until someone accidentally fell in and ZAP. I'm not sure if this whole story is true or not, I've heard it several times and in a few versions, this being the one that makes the most sense.
  13. You might be a coaster freak if...
  14. Sounds like it'd be cool to see this happen. It's not totally original, but pretty darn creative!!
  15. From what I understand, the Island is not supposed to be that badly effected by the swarm this year. Cicadas floating in the water would only enhance the attempted theming....it'll be great! But really. Is this a good year to open up a new waterpark? Yes. There would have been a waterpark open this summer at the park whether or not Boomerang Bay would have opened and whether or not the cicadas would have broken earth.
  16. Three saddening words: Charlie the Tuna P.S. I'm merely kidding
  17. Expanded to where? Please don't say something like, "They could move TimberWolf to Rivertown."
  18. http://www.forgottenoh.com/Counties/Warren/kingsisland.html This is all I could pull up.
  19. Where exactly are you talking about when you say Oktoberfest? It's small already and if the park fills in the pond with all the fishies to build a coaster there, I will never visit King's Island again.
  20. Ohio would REALLY be the coaster capital of the world if that happened...
  21. Which to me, is funny to think about considering that we got a nice 4 inches of snow last night/this morning that cancelled school for today (you know there's bad weather if Centerville gets cancelled). darn the weather in Ohio...darn it.
  22. The only place where I see tunnels going on Son of Beast is where the track actually runs along the ground. Tunnels 150 feet in the air make little sense, and don't anybody complain about how The Beast has elevated tunnels on the helix. I'm not stupid. If Son of Beast was a TRUE terrain coaster, tunnels would actually look like they belonged. Sorry, kids.
  23. From what I understand from an inside source (Jeff Siebert), they are in the process of relocating the Eiffel Tower back behind The Racer.
  24. I went with Preston T. Tucker's. One food: Popcorn Chicken...it's by far the best I've ever had in my life and I get it every time I visit the park. LaRosa's come in a very close second. Here's a dumb question: Will Bubba's have shrimp cocktail? (Seriously, this is an amusement park in Ohio; I just want to know)
  25. I like my approach: 1) Get a chair. 2) Get some duct tape. 3) Strap yourself in so you can't escape. 4) Wait until the "BIG MARCH ANNOUNCEMENT" or for the park to open before you let yourself lose. It's what I'm going to do. As much as I want an announcement about a new coaster for 2005, I'm going to just see what the park tells us is on the lineup.
