I agree with your observation. Something along the beach that tips it's hat to something in CP's history. They also desperately need another wood coaster and after the success of MT it almost seems like a no-brainer. (Might be a possibility to remove some of the pavilion on the other side of the WindSeeker entrance gate just to have another coaster interact with the last gate that doesn't do so.)

Rode it last ride of the night last night row 17 (the usual) and it was fantastic. Noticed no difference in it compared to earlier this season or last season.

Actually I don't mind the way it is. True, you miss the fireworks but as long as you're in line by 10 you do get to ride. Because they need to make sure the track is clear of debris it starts back up at 10:20 or so making the rides at night that much later and therefore darker. Loved the one I had 2 Thursdays ago.

Snowball, seen you several times and never said hello, but wanted to thank you for what you do. In addition I'd like to thank everyone involved with Carnivale. It is an enormous success made mostly by the people (culinary team included) involved. From the Carnival King and Queen to the staff of the Crafts tent to the performers in the shows, to the sweeps who follow the parade to pick up the leftovers THANK YOU ALL for what you do. I've enjoyed the event 4 times this year and unfortunately won't be making it to your final night (I'll be at CP with the grandkids). I was hoping to be here for the final day and was planning on the kids makings signs saying "Thank You Grand Carnivale" I think it's a fitting gesture to such an awesome event. Maybe some others on here will take the cue to give a little gesture of gratitude to the staff of KI that works so hard to make 16 days of summer over and above entertaining. Again Snowball to you and your fellow cast/staff, please let them know that they are appreciated, loved, and we will miss the Carnivale until it (hopefully) makes it's magical return next year. I would suggest tasting cards at other locations (like the information boot) but I think you need to have them at the tents themselves in order to create the impulse buy. Someone may only have 1 more taste left and see 2 things they want to try and instead of buying one extra taste at 7.99 just get a 6 or 9 pack for the discount. You're always going to have register transactions because of the availability to have one-off buys for drinks and tastes. On marking the cards I think another primary reason for the punches is if the systems go "down". If for some reason the scanner stopped working they could just punch the lanyard. I think they need custom punchers as opposed to the office ones they had (they do sell them for heavier stock paper) or the ink pen would work. Stickers may not be viable since they could be removed. One idea for the pen may be a different color for each country? Might be neat to see how many of each country you ended up with. I agree on the ropes as well. Also signs for "Order" and "Pickup" so everyone knows that the lines are different. I'm sure the amount of response they had this year surprised them again. The culinary crew does a fantastic job and I'm confident changes will be made in years to come as this seems to be an incredibly successful event.

Dining plan is not good for Carnivale. You can buy 9 tastings online for $45 + tax ($50 + tax at the park) if you're a season pass holder and they are good throughout the run of the event. I have 6 more to use tonight when I go and everything I have tried is amazing. As far as locations you can go to the KI website and see which locations have what. The are all branched off of international street. After Carnivale is over we will hopefully have the return of the Chef's Plate with is included on the dining plan "A Plate Like No Other"

Went last night with the grandkids and absolutely loved it. brenthodge brings up some great points and I'm sure it will get to those in charge and be considered. If there's one thing I've noticed is that KI takes ideas and considers them, they are really good about hearing and responding to guests suggestions when and where appropriate. I miss the Elephant float too (maybe because of the drumsticks they decided not to have it because of just coming off of COVID) however there is the possibility that it is at another Carnivale. Seems like they could swap floats in and out and trade off every year with other Carnivale's in the chain. I wouldn't be surprised to see a float from CP 150th in a carnivale in the future. It's the way of keeping things fresh. (you could take the 1 off the 150th float and use it at KI next year :)). The biggest thing I noticed yesterday was the cultural diversity of the crowd. I may be mistaken but I think Grand Carnivale attracts people of different ethnicities to visit the park which is FANTASTIC! Kind of like when Dayton has "A World Affair". It attracts all different types of people from different cultures. It may have been true in the past but I just didn't notice it but it was good to see yesterday. Overall we had a great time and will be going back during Carnivale just to experience it all. I still have tastings to try and being able to use the pass on other days is a big plus. The culinary team is a true treasure of the park. The shows are great, the 9:30 show at the tower is awesome with all the parade people interacting with guests it just feels like the "place to be" at the end of an amazing day. Special thanks to the staff at KI for putting on this outstanding event. The energy of the performers and the amount of labor to pull off the parade is impressive and just shows how much the employees care about making sure each and every guest has, as my daughter screamed last night, the "BEST DAY EVER"!!!!

My guess would be any debris from the fireworks could land and stay on a wooden track structure. (also an ember may start a fire. Not likely but could). Steel tubes on the other hand wouldn't "hold" debris or embers and any embers that did get stuck would get knocked off with a test cycle and the metal wouldn't have a chance of catching fire. Just my guess.

Not trying to twist your words, just trying to give some creative advise. Why so defensive???? "I am not crazy about how the Train Q&A and our Banshee walkback is during morning ERT. " - can come off as critical. Remember not everyone is there for the coasters. "No ERT at all? " - can come off as critical. "Who thought Flight of Fear night ERT was a great idea and where is the tour of the spaghetti bowl? ERT on that should be during the day because well the ride is indoors. " - can come off as critical (especially to whomever thought up the itinerary). "There is no Haunt house walk through either. 2 years ago we had a lights on walk through Slaughterhouse. " - can come off as critical. "A lights on walk through of Kill Mart would be so amazing. " - Good suggestion These two could have been said as "I noticed there is not Haunt walkthrough on the itinerary. I enjoyed the lights on walk through in Slautherhouse 2 years ago. A lights on walk through of Kill Mart would be so amazing for a future event." - Comes off less critical "But overall good itinerary." - Nice comment. Look, I was merely pointing out that some of the above comments can come off negatively. And I would say that yes, two weeks is too soon to change anything considering the itinerary has already been completed and cleared through upper management (Don doesn't run the place after all). Also staffing had to be arranged, security, etc. There is nothing wrong with being a coaster enthusiast. My point was simply that eventually every coaster enthusiast becomes a park enthusiast just because of age, It's people like Don and his crew that make the event. I've been to the park 20 times this year and ridden alot of coasters but never during one of those visits have I gotten a Q&A with the Conductor of the train. Coasterstock is a name but it obviously isn't JUST about coasters as noted by this years itinerary. Winter Chill-Out sells out in minutes and guess how many coasters they get to ride. Don't get me wrong, coasters are a part of it, but it's the comradery, history and the park in general that set KI's coasterstock apart from any other event. Cheers.

Not sure if you're intending to I can see some may view your initial comments as coming off negatively. If you're not crazy about the Train Q&A or the Banshee Walkback then don't do them. Not everyone attending coaterstock has the same idea of what is interesting or fun. Some of us as we get older are becoming true "Park Enthusiasts" as opposed to "Coaster Enthusiasts" :). I think Don and his team do the best they can and you should consider that there may be other factors driving decisions that are being made. Frankly, I would trade ERT for FOF over AV in a heartbeat. Especially considering the line for AV is never nearly as long as FOF. Early in the season when training is going on sometimes they forget to turn off the lights on FOF. When it comes to running the ride in a safe manner, turning off the lights is probably pretty low on the list and I can understand it getting missed. I've seen it with the lights on early season as well and believe it's just a step they forgot to take when preparing the ride for the day. It's ok to express your opinion but to do so before the event is not even giving the event a chance. Afterward would also be the time to suggest things for next year as opposed to 2 weeks before the event when nothing can be done to change what has already been planned. Remember coasterstock wouldn't happen without Don and his team. Personally I didn't think Don owes you or anyone else an explanation at all and you are correct to thank him . His work and commitment to park enthusiasts is more than is seen at other parks in the country and we are lucky to have him and his crew.

The Beast is absolutely fantastic and re-ridable as long as you're in the right seat. Plus I don't believe there will ever be a coaster that hold the height, speed and length records all at once as it did when it opened. It is truly legendary. That being said giving it the "Racer" treatment would be a good thing.

Just because you see Chef James leaving doesn't mean it's over. He had 3-4 sous chef's manning the grill. I think he just starts it up and once they are auto pilot he leaves. So next time, check at the grill.

Well after 2 rain-outs they first chef's plate of 2021 happened! The line started forming around 4:15 for the chefs plate. At 5 the line seems to almost reach Skyline. It was, as usual, amazing. The glaze on the pork belly was fantastic and paired well with the zucchini & corn fritter. The brussel sprouts and onions were a nice bonus. Well done Culinary Team! Looking forward to next week.

I know it's not probable but I would love to see trams in the parking lot come back. Granted, it takes away value for preferred parking, but it would help with less pedestrians in the parking lot and also provide supervision of the parking lot as well as the drop off area. I would think that a company would be interested in providing a discount/paying for electric trams that could be used. It may mean more employees, but right now it seems you need security guards out at the "parent drop-off (terrible name:))" area either way. It would also be a nice nod back to the opening of KI. As a bonus they could use ones without as many cars to transport people to and from Great Wolf Lodge and Camp Cedar. Just my 2 cents.

Went to Coney BBQ yesterday to try the new monthly special Smoked Boneless Short Ribs, House Peach BBQ Sauce and Cucumber Salad. Had it and it was good. The Peach BBQ isn't something I would normally try but it was tasty. Also noticed at the Chicken Shack they had a "wing sauce of the month". Maple Bourbon Glaze. Very good. Bon Appetit!
