  1. Yea they did also when I was a kid (around the mid eightes) with the HB characters. The only difference was I remember it being in the picnic grove. I remember i ate pancakes with yogi because I cried when I saw the other ones like Fred and Barney. The person in the Yogi costume felt bad, so he cheered me up and ate next to me for a bit. (well I ate he watched)
  2. Unless they start heavily enforcing this rule i'm going to keep my hands up. More fun that way.
  3. I said front gate, not action fx theater. Point taken back
  4. This is for the kid who was angry at it being taken out. Yes it does suck eggs that a good ride was taken out, but what can ya do. The Enchanted Theater has had the tradition of changing its ride every ten years. Here’s some articles for your aching heart. Phantom Theater: The DAFE Article Phantom Pharewell: DAFE Article 2 After Phantom: DAFE Article 3 Phantom Theaters Creators: small video Watch the little clip until the end, and you'll see some familiar faces Music to soothe the soul: Phantom's main theme Contrary to popular belief this song is not played at the opening gate of the park. The song that is played is the Theme to Beatlejuice, what the Phantom Theater's theme was inspired by. Well that should wet your appetite for awhile. E-mail me if you want some more. I got an e-mail from the guy in charge of RandR Design that came with some pretty cool concept art and ride photos, as well as his opinion of it being taken out. Well I’ve typed enough here, and I gotta start making lasagna for dinner. Enjoy
  5. Has the train ever broken down? Just curious.
  6. Could be a height factor or maybe it was falling apart and it's just getting a facelift. It was a small tunnel so they could easily build a new one. It would be sad though if they took it out completely, because I remember it being so thrilling when I was a kid. We'll see soon enough though.
  7. Cool i'm on the video. Woohooo. Briefly but i'm on it. lol
  8. SDATHC runs on a track system and it's not a coaster. But for Avatar we should wait and see the finished project to judge it's type. Also when was Tomb Raider ever considered a coaster? I knew it was debatable about being a dark ride but never heard about it being called a coaster.
  9. hmmm. Way to rain on my parade. Then i'll go for The Beast.
  10. I'm checking out NU first then getting an early Beast ride or Son of Beast.
  11. Does anyone else remember those sweet driniking cups you could get in Hannah Barbarra Land that were shaped like fruits and would taste like whatever fruit the cup looked like? I remember I had the grape and the orange cup. This was back when HB characters still roamed the park and scared the living daylights outta me. Especially Fred. He just looked really creepy in suit form.
  12. This'll stop the nay sayers of NU. That avatar is huge, A carnival ride it is not.
  13. Someone is bound to have pictures up soon, so don't worry. There is never a moment of pki that is not documented photographically.
  14. I'm glad to see this wasn't an isolated incident. Yea it's not that big of a deal to me, i'm still gonna ride the coasters. Thats interesting that people have blacked out on Face-Off and Vortex also. Those ones never hit me like that, prolly different tolerance for different people. The only problem I had with it was how long I was out the first time it happened on IJ. I didn't wake up until the helicopter scene. If that would happen on Vortex , i'd definitely be taking some asprins when I got off that ride.
  15. Has anyone else either blacked out or feel faint after the spirals on the Italian Job. The second time I rode it my ex (she was my girlfriend at the time it happened) blacked out very briefly during the initial spirals. She freaked out because when we got to the police car section she screamed "what happened" becaust to her it was just like she skipped a part of the ride. We thought it was a fluke and rode it three more times that day with no problems. But sure enough the next time we visited the park she blacked out at the same time. I got kinda worried at the time but she insisted it was nothing so we rode it several more times. About the third ride on that second visit I blacked out at that exact same part. It was weird because all I remember was launching then hitting the spiral and then waking up right bofre the helicopter scene. I freaked out because that was the first time I ever blaked out before in my life, and it was on a rollercoaster. I had a huge headache the rest of the day, because my only guess is I rattled my head when I passed out and just kinda flopped around alot. This was all during last spring and we rode it several times since then and didn't experience it but once more during the end of the summer. I have no idea if it happened to her again (we broke up at the end of September) but I only got really dizzy or faint once during Fearfest, but had no blackout. I wondered if this happened to anyone else while riding it I was just curious. P.S. In the spring my guess is because they were testing launch speeds and it went a little faster then. Just a guess
  16. I rode it about four times in a row and that was enough for me. Beast wasn't much more though, with about five or six times at Beastbuzz, I was done after that. They're both rough but thats the fun part. I'm suprised people aren't up in arms about FOF. That beat be up more than any ride at the park. When FOF first opened I got a bloody ear from my head banging around so much. It isn't much better now, but I'm bigger so I can handle it.
  17. How was that submarine ride, was it fun? We never had any money to do pay rides and games so I never rode it but it looked cool as hell. Yea the Slides was called scrappys slide I think. I remember being scared of the slides for some reason, not sure why but I was deathly afraid to ride them, but my parents would force me too, and then i'd love them again until I came back the next time and I was scared. (big time run on sentence, but I don't care riht now)
  18. That’s what I figured about the middle tunnels that go half underground half above. Were the Helix tunnels always there or where those added later as well? Or were they as well just extended. Man I’m losing my knowledge about The Beast, I gotta bone up hahaha.
  19. With The Beast did they add tunnels later? I can't remember if they were there from the begining. SOB will be much cooler in about 5-10 years when all the trees grow up around it. It'll have that Beast feel to it.
  20. The tunnel is my favorite part, It looks small but feels so big because of the dark. I give it an A+
  21. Yes The Vortex is a well maintained piece of machinery. Good staff also. It always seems to run smooth there, hats off to ya. Second tip top crew would have to be The Beast. Great applause for ya both.
  22. The park pizza I think tastes better than the traditional at the other restraunts. Dunno why.
  23. AHHH!! My volume was really high and that video scared the crap outta me.
  24. A cool steel coaster would be nice. One thats outside with a few tunnels. Lots of inversions and all that good stuff. Don't know what company would do it, but I would love to see a giant steel coaster. Either that or a suspended coaster.
