  1. The past couple of times I've been at the park, I've ridden DB once or twice in the afternoon and finished off the night with DB (though the first time it was because Beast wasn't open at 9:30 - after I realized how well you can see the fireworks from DB, I decided to make that the last ride of the night instead of The Beast)
  2. 2005: HB "West Pie" - Beastie, Skytours, umbrella ride (Go, Diego, Go!), kiddie cars (Nick Jr. Drivers) and kiddy whip (Swiper's Sweepers) Worked from the beginning of the season through late July before being fired (long story - don't ask)
  3. Further clarification on the Terpy joke... The line "See the tree how big it's grown" is from the song "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro. If you've never heard it, you aren't missing anything...
  4. The S&S Screamin' Swing looks like a fun ride, but I can't picture something like that being put in Coney Mall.
  5. For me it's a tie between row 1 and row 16. I've only ridden row 1 once (night ERT during RWW), but have been assigned to row 16 two or three times... Row 1 is fun because you're the first over the hills (nothing like looking down that first hill with nothing in front of you), but Row 16 is also a blast because you can get soaked and you get pulled over the hills.
  6. As of this post, the poll has received 12 votes (including mine): 1 for Moderate Thrill Ride 1 for Thrill Ride 10 for Major Thrill Ride That should tell you right there
  7. I personally think FD's queue is longer than SOB's queue, but I could be wrong. If I remember correctly though, WWC holds the record for longest queue in the park.
  8. KICentral t-shirt Semi-bummy cargo shorts Sandals
  9. I usually just keep walking, completely ignoring them.
  10. For some reason, everytime I hear about the show, I'm reminded of the classic 1966 surf movie (The Endless Summer). Will have to check it out though
  11. On the subject of healthy food choices, I wouldn't mind seeing a Potbelly Sandwich Works at KI. Good sandwiches and reasonable prices.
  12. Yes, but would people actually be willing to pay such prices for it?
  13. Kiddie wood: Beastie Kiddie steel: Scooby Zoom Wood non-looping: Racer Steel non-looping: Top Gun Wood looping: SOB Steel looping: King Cobra or Vortex Suspended: Top Gun Inverted: Face/Off Launched looped: Outer Limits Flight of Fear Launched non-looped: IJST Stand up: King Cobra Water: WWC or KCKC And yes, I realize that several rides have since changed names, but I refuse to refer to them as something other than what they were called when I first rode them...
  14. Chipotle, while tasty, wouldn't really work well in an amusement park setting. It's not something you can eat while walking around the park, and it could be rather messy for those who aren't familiar with Chipotle (eg someone taking all the foil off and then trying to eat it...). On top of that, the portions are a bit larger than what most people are used to (compare a fajita at Taco Bell to one at Chipotle...). As I've stated many times before, I think what KI needs is a good German restaurant in Festhaus. There's a lot of good German food that's perfect for an amusement park setting (various sausages, sauerkraut balls, etc.), and they'd probably make a killing if they could get some good German beer there.
  15. I love the "last time I was there" argument. You should have shown her KI's website to prove that you were correct.
  16. I'd either choose KI back in the mid 80s or Chester Park in the 1920s.
  17. RPW and Coney Skyline are my two favorite places to eat in the park. RPW has excellent fries and popcorn chicken, and Coney Skyline has that great padio.
  18. The only time I can remember being at Americana was back in the early 90s (I think) for a CG&E company picnic (my dad works for them). As I recall, we were less than impressed with the condition of the park - it was fairly messy and the rides didn't appear to be all that safe. With Kings Island being a lot closer and having more to offer, we didn't see much point in going to Americana again.
  19. I remember hearing that when I was there this past Sunday. Hilarious As for what happened at AE - there was likely a good reason for them stopping the train on the final hill. Ride ops would never stop a ride just because they wanted to, and park management likely wouldn't find such a situation very funny.
  20. How can you think a ride is stupid if you don't even know what that ride is?
  21. Didn't realize Putz's was that well known, but I've been there numerous times over the years (it's only 10 minutes from where I live).
  22. If business is at or exceeding expectations, then why did they need to suddenly raise admission so early into the season? If you want to raise prices, doing it in season is not the way to go...
  23. Updated story from WAVE (Louisville's NBC affiliate): http://www.wave3.com/global/category.asp?c...;clipId=3820894
  24. You also weren't at RWCW like many of us were
  25. Might have been the same guy yesterday who got the entire train to growl as they were leaving the station because someone else growled
