  1. Boomerang Bay is really close to HB. The picnic grove seperates the two, and there's not much room for expansion in that direction.
  2. Here's a couple of pictures of last Friday's double-rainbow at PKI that I found while browsing the web... Enjoy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/mindmenagerie/16141075 http://www.flickr.com/photos/mindmenagerie/16141077
  3. This is more of an FYI than a rule, but it's something that many people would love to know... When walking past Green Slime Zone in Nick Central, do not stand around to see what's going on, unless you don't mind getting drenched. You do not have much time to get at least 6 feet away from the green tower structure before you will get drenched. I can't tell you how many times I've seen innocent guests meander by just in time to get soaked. While it's rather amusing for those who knew what was coming, I'm sure the guests themselves didn't find it quite as enjoyable.
  4. PKIworker - the only reason I worded it that way is because of the rule about not saying stuff that wouldn't be known to the public otherwise. The website where I got that information is not available to the general public (to my knowledge anyway), so I did not wish to say who it was. I figured PKI would have given more information to the public if they had wanted to, and was not trying to make it look like there was something really secret about this. On a related note, what exactly is DIAA? I couldn't find any information about them online (most of my searching just turned up results relat
  5. This has nothing to do with IJST. As the site says, it's a private company event - meaning a private event for a local company. This company happens to be quite well known and has offices in the Mason area, although the company's headquarters are not located here. That's all I will say about it.
  6. I was also there on Sunday (of course most of the time I was working)... When I got there shortly before 1, I wanted to do something quick before hitting the School of Rock Show (which was excellent), so I decided to go to the top of Eiffel Tower, because it had been so long since I'd been up there. Great view as always. After the School of Rock show was over, I decided to go see how many rides I could cram in to the next 2 hours (I had to be at work at 3:45). Went over to Action Zone, and was going to ride Son of Beast, but it was closed. One of the associates at the front of the line sai
  7. Reclaimer - I agree with you about that guy. I think PKI is smart to do this. Otherwise they'd have tons of people complaining that they spent 5 or 6 hours standing in line and never got to ride it, and how they could have been riding other rides instead, etc.
  8. I also said 4. Whoever said "1" should be banned from the board

  10. Yes, there was a big rainbow at the entrance to HB many years ago. Who knows whatever happened to that.
  11. That's great I love the "comments" from Fred...
  12. Official employee calendar says it's the 5th.
  13. For those who have never been to Holiday World, it's really easy to find... Just go straight down I-71 to Louisville, then hop on I-64 west for a couple hours. It's right off I-64 (there are plenty of signs in the area).
  14. You might be able to walk onto some rides next weekend. A lot depends on how the weather is though. I wouldn't count on being able to walk onto too many rides though.
  15. I'm working closing shift both Saturday and Sunday, but plan to arrive early enough to catch this show. Should be a good one (better than that country show they've got).
  16. Hmmm... a "designated farting area"... interesting idea... The people from the games in Coney Mall and the photo people in the front of the park can be annoying at times, but that's just something you have to live with. I haven't really noticed any rude employees, although I haven't visited PKI more than about 6 times in a season in several years. I do agree that employees shouldn't be discussing non-work-related things except on break, though. This is my first season working at PKI and I absolutely love it. Even when guests are being rude and/or obnoxious to me, I try hard to be polite a
  17. I doubt that the lady will have much merit in this case. Amazing how The Vortex is still one of the most popular rides in the park... As for that Shakespeare quote, it was this one (courtesy of Google)
  18. I sincerely doubt that such a thing is possible. You're going to have to support all that wood somehow, and wood is nowhere near as strong as welded steel would be. Plus, it would require special rails and probably special trains as well, so it would be quite expensive.
  19. According to this, it was where King Cobra used to be...
  20. I would also recommend giving PKI this lady's name and number so they can deal with her however they want. I'm not sure how they would get your information, but I agree that it's best to direct this issue to PKI and let them handle it. If it were a marketing research firm of some sort (there are several around here), it would be different.
  21. The pre-recorded spiel for Drop Zone was most likely made by Paramount. I would assume that the others are made by the park, Paramount or the company that made the ride.
  22. One time I saw someone hop over the fence there by the first curve on The Beast (the one right out of the station) to get their basketball. Too bad no employees saw them.
