  1. Officially, it says "before", but you should call the park to confirm this.
  2. I also wish they'd return AE back to the way it was when it first opened - mist, jungle noises, etc. I did notice last time I rode it that most of the tiki guys at the end were working again, which is good, but it would still be better if they had all the original theming.
  3. The one thing I would like to see in the kiddy area, regardless of what theme they choose, is the return of FOC to Beastie, complete with tunnel. It was extremely popular when marketed as a miniature version of The Beast, and I think it would be best for the park to change it back to what it once was. When the kids' area was initially re-themed from HB to Nick, the coaster was left alone. I still don't understand why the park felt the need to re-theme it when the big expansion took place a few years ago.
  4. Try contacting Broadtexter about the problem (click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the mobile club page).
  5. Shouldn't this be a sticky topic so it doesn't get buried?
  6. That's what I figured, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks!
  7. Due to getting the day off of work this coming Sunday (May 2nd), I am planning to make a trip up to KI to get my season pass processed and then spend the afternoon at the park. When I get there, do I just show the parking attendant my season pass receipt so I don't have to pay for parking?
  8. I haven't read all of this topic, and some of the things I would like to see have already been said, but here goes... 1. If you must give away basketballs as prizes, give them out deflated. I get so tired of people walking around the park bouncing those things and nearly getting mowed over by guests chasing after runaway basketballs. 2. Add a Wild Mouse coaster in the Coney Mall area. 3. Better enforcement of smoking restrictions. Also yell at people who feel the need to hang all over their significant other in line. 4. Offer park maps in more spots throughout the park so we don't have to walk all the way to the front entrance to get them. 5. Don't play modernized folk songs on the train. Last time I rode the train, we were treated to "Cotton Eye Joe" by Rednex and "Ghost Riders In The Sky" by the Outlaws. While I like both songs (particularly the Rednex version of "Cotton Eye Joe"), the music just isn't fitting for an old-fashioned-style train ride through a fake old-west town. It was much more enjoyable when they played bluegrass music.
  9. Enter your KIC user number in that box. if you're not sure what it is, go to your profile and look for the number after "showuser="
  10. I did a little searching, and it appears that Kings Island Resort and Conference Center is the only one that offers shuttle service.
  11. That's a bit surprising. Considering that The Beach is a family-owned park, I can't figure out why they would do that.
  12. I will also be going alone both days (though I won't be there for early ride times on Sunday), and will hang out with a group if anyone wants to do that.
  13. The Cincinnati Arts Association does the same thing - it costs you more to print your own ticket than it does to have them mail the ticket to your house. I discovered this back in December when I purchased a ticket to see Mannheim Steamroller at the Aranoff Center. They tacked on close to $10 worth of fees/charges, then wanted an extra $2 for me to print my own ticket. It makes no sense, but I just went with the cheaper option and had them mail my ticket to me.
  14. I'm wondering why the city is just now suing Six Flags nearly 2 years after Katrina hit. If they wanted to sue them for not reopening the park, they should have done so a long time ago. I don't blame Six Flags for trying to walk away from it considering how much it would cost them to reopen that park, not to mention how long that would take (a couple years at least depending on how badly damaged the rides are).
  15. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't put my KIC username in that box. I wasn't sure what to put in that box so I just left it blank. I thought maybe they wanted my season pass number, but I haven't had it processed yet. Definitely looking forward to this event. I'll be there all day on Saturday, as well as most of the day on Sunday. I won't be there for ERTs on Sunday due to church but will be staying for last rides on Diamondback
  16. I'm looking forward to this I will likely be coming alone as I'm the only one in the family that has a season pass. I am definitely planning to attend on the 9th, but haven't decided on the 10th yet (depends on what's happening at the event that day, as I will only be able to come after church).
  17. I had planned to be there, but wasn't able to get the day off from work because three other people also requested that day off (I work as a cashier in the parking garage down at Newport on the Levee if anyone's wondering). I'm now planning to go on the 25th instead. Thank goodness for gold passes
  18. I don't know if this was my first time visiting, but my first memory of visiting KI was when I was 6 years old. It was the day I rode a roller coaster the first time - Beastie with bench seats and no seatbelts (so you got a little airtime). It was a lot of fun
  19. Let me guess... Rocket Dock and WindowBlinds... I am already making plans to be at KI on the day that Diamondback opens. I was there for the opening of Firehawk (still have my T-shirt from then around here someplace), and am not about to miss the opening of this thing. Even though I hate to see the lake go, it's about time we got something like this. Thank you Cedar Fair for investing in this
  20. Seems that most of the issues affecting the site earlier have been resolved for the moment - all the videos, buddy icons and wallpaper have been moved to a working server (though the high quality videos are missing). However, the RSS feed for the blog is still broken.
  21. Try disabling any popup blockers and make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed. Firefox's popup blocker doesn't have a problem with that site, but I can't say if other browsers will or not. The one thing that really disappoints me is that the RSS feed for the blog is broken. I was planning to subscribe to it, but all it outputs is a page saying "An error has occurred!"
  22. Video works fine for me (Firefox 3), but there's no image for the webcam.
  23. Just signed up as well I don't visit this board as much as I'd like, so this will keep me updated
  24. Here's a couple of links with more info... Official site: http://www.newportducks.com NOL site: http://www.newportonthelevee.com/directory/detail.aspx?id=63 I'll definitely have to check this out - especially since I work at Newport on the Levee
