  1. That link doesn't work because someone tried to embed the tweet rather than just link to it. Here are the links to both the Twitter and Facebook videos of the top-off. Take your pick Twitter: https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/789890514095050756 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/videos/10155268891653368/
  2. Glad to know that's how it works. I logged into the payment portal tonight and went to print my Fast Lane ticket only to be presented with a message saying that the order didn't have any tickets to print (then why did it give me that option?). I plan to use mine tomorrow. I'm thinking the park might be busy due to the nice weather and I might as well use it since it didn't cost me anything.
  3. You can see the latching seatbelts in the ride video on KI's website (weird how they can get a video of it but not a picture of the actual rafts used on the ride). https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Family-Rides/White-Water-Canyon-2
  4. The park's website and Facebook page now display the following message: According to an article from news.com.au (which has compiled information from several sources), this happened near the end of the ride when one raft hit an empty raft and flipped over. The article also says that the ride uses velcro straps to secure riders, rather than the latching seatbelts seen on Whitewater Canyon. http://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/at-least-four-people-injured-after-serious-dreamworld-incident/news-story/ab194466f5fd49e1e1c17e5468bbbd47
  5. I don't know how many Banshee rides I'm at. I try to keep track of rides during the season, but that's about it. I'm nowhere near 3000 rides on anything at KI though to my knowledge.
  6. An evacuation using that "yellow thing" would take a ridiculous amount of time since it can only accommodate four riders at a time.
  7. The Herald-Sun article (second link above) has been updated with further details. Of particular note: According to timeanddate.com, Gold Coast is 14 hours ahead of us, so that would have been just after midnight Eastern time.
  8. Stumbled across this while looking for info on a completely unrelated subject. One site reports that three have been injured and another person has died: http://www.9news.com.au/National/2016/10/25/15/48/Reports-of-at-least-one-dead-in-serious-Dreamworld-ride-accident Another site says that four have been injured, one seriously, but the death has not been confirmed yet: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/incident-at-dreamworld-on-gold-coast-injures-1-several-people-trapped/news-story/c9215c32c484c2a740af4fa7e16df102 According to Wikipedia, Dreamworld is the largest theme par
  9. https://www.facebook.com/BuschGardensVA/posts/10154134276123315 Grab some popcorn and have fun reading the comments. While I feel bad for people who are affected by this, some of the comments are ridiculous - particularly the passholders complaining that they're not open during the week this time of year...
  10. I'd certainly be there if I weren't already taking off on the 9th and the 30th. Nice to see ACE paying attention to a smaller park like Coney though
  11. It'll be interesting to see how well this works if they actually manage to open the park. The problem is that Cave City is kind of in the middle of nowhere. The nearest big cities are Elizabethtown and Bowling Green, each of which is about 40 miles away. The trick will be convincing people to drive from one of those towns to go there rather than Kentucky Kingdom (close to Elizabethtown) or Beech Bend (in Bowling Green). That area seems to rely mostly on tourists, particularly those visiting Mammoth Cave, and I'm not sure how well an amusement park can do in that area on tourist dollars alone,
  12. Like Goble, I wear a watch all the time and have never had any problems in any water park either. Many times it has lead to a guest asking me what time it was.
  13. You clearly haven't ridden the ones at Waldameer. They make Kings Island's look speedy.
  14. These days most major media outlets are more interested in being the first to cover something rather than being accurate.
  15. I'm up for the job if needed as well. I've been on the forum for about 11 years now and have lots of experience running forums of my own as well.
  16. This has also got to be hard on the family whose son was involved. If a loved one were almost killed in a freak accident that resulted in the death of a beloved animal, you wouldn't want constant reminders of the situation being blasted all across the internet. When this story first broke, people were quick to put the mom on blast saying this wouldn't have happened if she had been watching her son properly - which may or may not be true. Either way, it's not fair to anyone involved that people won't let go of this and move on. Sure, this incident was likely preventable, but we can't change wha
  17. Earthquake damage likely cause of Washington Monument elevator breakdowns: http://wtop.com/dc/2016/08/earthquake-damage-likely-cause-of-washington-monument-elevator-breakdowns/slide/1/ Wouldn't routine inspections detect problems such as a frayed cable? Those things don't just snap overnight.
  18. Lines on Sundays in the fall typically don't seem to be too bad Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  19. At least it's nearing the end of peak tourist season now.
  20. I'm wondering the same, especially given that Conneaut Lake isn't exactly a bustling area. Erie is only an hour away, but even so, it's still a rather rural area.
