There's more to the story I'm sure. Someone likely left something valuable in plain site, considering there haven't been any other reports of cars being ransacked at KI. I'm also wondering why the person whose car was stolen left their keys in their friend's car. That's just asking for trouble. However, the idiots at KI are getting old and hopefully they'll be able to catch the idiots responsible.

So if Cedar Point upped their pay for all positions to $20 an hour and it’s considered a wide success according to them then why is KI only paying $18/hr for a few positions and continuing to cut hours?

There are also far more job opportunities in this area than there are in Sandusky and surrounding small towns - especially warehouse positions (similar pay, year round work and benefits)

  3. Another classic ride is leaving a park owned by Parques Reunidos (also owners of Kennywood, Idlewild and various other parks). The trabant ride at Lake Compounce in Connecticut is being retired.

Not sure how many people here have visited that park given that it's an 11½ hour drive from Cincy but always sad to see classic rides retired.

  4. Cedar Fair announced Q3 earnings a few days ago. As expected, things aren't pretty. I'm not a finance guy so I'll let others comment on this in more detail.

    Quote

Net revenues for the third quarter ended Sept. 27, 2020, totaled $87 million versus $715 million for the third quarter of 2019. The decrease in net revenues was the direct result of an 11.9 million-visit decrease in attendance and a $47 million decrease in out-of-park revenues, both shortfalls due to COVID-19-related park closures and operating calendar changes in the current period, as well as soft demand upon reopening.

In-park per capita spending decreased by 5% to $47.29 compared to $49.94 in the third quarter of 2019. In-park per capita spending increases in food, merchandise and games, collectively up 18% in the period, were more than offset by decreases in guest spending on admissions and extra-charge attractions, primarily front-of-the-line Fast Lane products. The decrease in admissions spending was the result of a higher mix of season pass visitation in the quarter (55%) compared to the same period last year (46%). Excluding the impact of season passes, non-season pass admission spending on all other ticket types was up 4% in the quarter.

  5. Wanted to try this on Saturday but they were sold out by the time we were getting dinner (around 7). Ended up going for pizza because the line for that wasn't too long in Festhaus. Panda line was long like usual and the line for Hank's was out the door and moving slow (stood in line for close to 10 minutes and still wasn't inside - didn't want to wait 20+ minutes for food)
