I am a passholder and I try to stay as far away from the park as I can that day! We went one time when it was on a Friday and the morning wasn't bad but around 3:00 you couldn't move it was so packed.

I'm glad that you posted this. It was exactly what I was thinking but could not put it into words. My heart goes out to the people that were injured and their families. I hope that their injuries are not severe and that they heal very quickly.

When we were there we asked to sit in the front seat and they let us wait. You just have to tell them you want the front/back seat and they don't have a problem with that. At least that is the way it was a few weeks ago when we were there.

I may have missed this in a earlier post, but I hear the theme for Gone With The Wind on I-street every time I am at the park.

This brings me back to my original question. On the PKI websie it says "Early Rides in Action Zone- Major attractions in Action Zone open from 9:30am-10:00am including: FACE/OFF, Drop Zone, Delirium, and Top Gun." but it does not say which days it applies to and it is not on the calendar on your link.

I think that's it's pretty safe to say that with CP and PKI being close in distance their regular season pass would not include PKI. Thier regular season pass currently does not even include thier own waterpark. I do not buy a CP season pass currently so it would be more money for us. For the same perks that the PKI pass offers we would pay close to $700 next year for passes if the prices stay the same price as they are this year. Now if the passes are $100 each and include PKI I would not hesitate to but them.

I care too. If you buy the season passes for PKI before the season ends they are a whole lot cheaper than CP. If you add in the other parks to the CP season pass it jumps to $155 and that's alot of money when you are talking about a family of 4!

It actually looks like the speed lane starts June 10th, not this weekend. It doesn't look like much of anything is happening this weekend.

Are the Action Zone ERT over for the weekends now? I know that weekends in May gold pass holders were able to get in at 9:30 and ride for a half hour before the general public, but I do not see anything about it on the PKI website any more. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I think that they are going to go up more then just $50.00 for us for season passes. We paid $270.00 for our family of 4 for gold passes this year and that includes parking and getting in to the park early. The same perks for Cedar Point would cost us around $700.00. I have to give it to PKI with their season passes, they do a great job giving deals to their customers.

We went to Cedar Point today and I have to say... I think PKI could take some pointers from them. Mainly in the price of food. I think the food at Cedar Point is half the price of the food at PKI and their coasters or top notch. We rode TTD for the first time today and it was probably the best coaster I have ever been on. The rush that you get from it is AWESOME! I have never experienced anything like it before.

I totally agree with you and have been thinking the same thing over the past few weeks. I love PKI and my kids love it too. If I was new to this board reading all of the negative comments about PKI, I don't think that I would even bother going and spending my money there. I come from "old school KI" as well and I think that it was and still is a wonderful park to visit.

That would explain why there was a camera and crew filming The Beast when we were there on Saturday. We weren’t sure which T.V. station they were from since we are from Columbus. They were filming a lady in the front seat of The Beast and when we were on the ride they were filming at the bottom of the first hill. Hopefully someone will see the segment and let us know how it was.

I saw quite a few people walking their dogs last year and my son told me tonight that he saw a dog there last weekend going to the pet day care center.

They still advertise the Pet Day Care Center. This came from their website PET DAY-CARE FACILITY Your pet deserves a day at the park. You can keep your pet safe and comfortable at our Pet Day-Care Center for just $10.00 per day! Packages are also available for the entire season starting at just $40 per cage. An attendant is always on duty during operating hours. Limited space is available and is on a first come, first serve basis. Overnight pet stays are not permitted. Only service animals for the visually impaired are allowed in the park. All other animals are not permitted inside the park. If they got rid of it they need to take this off of their site.

I did send them an e-mail. I know that there are a lot of employees on this forum so I thought I would post it here too. I wasn't sure if they share this kind of thing with their staff so I wanted to make sure you knew.

It was open on Sunday. We rode it mid afternoon. I don't know if it went down after we were on it or not.

We were at the park today (4/16/06) and we had a great time. I know that there are a lot of people that complain about the employees but I think the staff did an excellent job today. Everyone was very friendly and helpful which made our day very enjoyable. There was an injury on the bumper cars and the operators did a great job with the situation. There were people smoking in the Drop Zone line and the operator told them to put it out. The Vortex and Beast crews got people in and out like pros, and I think everything was going very smooth for opening weekend. We had a great day and I hope this keeps up for the entire year. Good job PKI staff!!! Thanks for making our first visit of the year a great one!!

For all that went today, how were the lines getting into the park? Did they open the gates right at 10:00?

Yes, they started at 9:00 last year. I think that they will have to open the parking lot around 9:00 if they are planning on ERT in the summer. I think that they said earlier that the parking lot wouldn't open until 1/2 hour before the park opens. This year should be very interesting.
