  1. I agree with you; the trampolines seem like the most pointless pay attraction in the park. It seems to me that it's mostly kids whose parents pay for them to get on if there is even anybody on there at all. And then the old laser tag building next to it...............Has this thing been open in the past year; do they use it for Fearfest? Cause I have not seen it open in probably more than 2 years. Those two and Days of Thunder, IMO, should be removed. If Slingshot was removed, there'd be no space there anyway but for a food stand. Plus it looks like it makes the most money as far as pay attraction go. Too bad no one has invented a higher capacity slingshot yet. I don't think Skyflier should go either; by now it's definately a park icon on the skyline.......and I'm sure it makes a good deal of money too.
  2. Here's my top five list of where new rides should go, in image form: http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/5295/ki...ideideasqi2.jpg For #1 they would probably have to move around some maintenance paths, but it looks like there's plenty of room for a flat or some other tracked ride. #2 has the most room to expand, and that's were I think some 2008 water attraction(s) should go. #3 is my only coaster option, and I don't hope or think that this one is coming just yet, but when and if it does, I hope they pull a Holiday World and save as many trees as possible making for an awesome ride experience and finally bringing back an Addams Family-style concept although with a different theme. #4.........well IMO Days of Thunder is the biggest waste of space in the park, and I'd be glad if almost anything took it's place, although it definitely doesn't need to be a coaster.............unless they want to move IJ:ST over there. #5 is an obvious area for a flat ride, and like many have said before, a Huss Jump2 or I was thinking a S&S Sky Swat would be a good fit; this would be my 2nd choice area for a 2008 attraction.

    KI Trip 5/29

Man, by the time I got to Firehawk around 2:00 yesterday it was down and didn't reopen for the rest of the day. But like you said, the rest of the park was great, no lines anywhere except for FOF because all the people from Firehawk moved over to it. But even it's line went down around 7:00 and we rode then. We even spent about 1.5 hrs. in the waterpark and rode most everything there. All in all, it was a great day, just no Firehawk.
  4. ^Are you serious? Does that mean that they got less than 2500 people on Firehawk for the whole day, or did they just feel like giving extra t-shirts away?
  5. So as long as you buy your pass before the 27th, you get the gold upgrade; you don't have to get it processed before then, correct?
  6. But Peanuts Playground has no rides. It's basically well.......a playground. Jr. Gemini area could be kind of combined with Camp Snoopy since they're right next to each other. Although I could understand both sides of the argument. I remember when I went to Cedar Point though, they didn't have enough staff to run the entire Jr. Gemini area, so they switched between the rides all day. I agree with Combat though, CP could use some more children/family rides. They haven't updated any of their kids areas in about 8 years I want to say. I don't think their current kids rides are bad or that there aren't enough, but there really isn't much that everyone can ride together. There are the big coasters, (most of which have at least 48" requirements) and then there are the kids rides, which many bigger people can't ride.
  7. I've heard this rumor as well, but I'm thinking if it is true then it would be a 2008 attraction rather than '07. But if PKI can incorporate this coaster in as well as they've done with BORG at PCar, then I'm all for it.
  8. Nice TR. I was at CP on Saturday as well for Coasterbuzz's Boobuzz event. And I have to agree it was super crowded! I only tried one major (as in it had a long line) coaster after 2 pm and that was Raptor. But we did have some pretty awesome morning ERT on MF and TTD. I finally got to ride that thing! But I still think MF is better.
  9. Awesome! Is that a Master Blaster type-slide I see in there?
  10. Oops, you're right, cause that was the year Woodstock Express was built and I'm presuming the rest of Camp Snoopy came with it.
  11. You know, I love Peanuts and Nick. But I really don't like the idea of the Peanuts coming to the park. PKI has always been the Nick park, it's just part of the atmosphere they've had for at least the past 10 years. In the same way CP has always been the Snoopy park for probably longer than that. It just seems to me that it wouldn't be the same if the Peanuts came to Kings Island.
  12. I have to agree with you, especially though on the dive machine. Why?..........They are relatively unique. Sheikra is the only diver in the U.S. (unless BGE gets one next year) And the only U.S. B&M flyers are at Six Flags parks. I think a diver would be better because it's more comfortable for more people though. Flyers aren't always the favorite for all members of the family. But a dive machine is classic sit-down coaster that every coaster-lover will love, yet it also has a few more thrilling and modern elements.
  13. If you look closer, most of those trees are in areas that house the rides, not the paths.......maybe excluding Kiddie Kingdom and Frotiertown. Everywhere else in the park doesn't really have that many trees. It's just the way CP evolved. I wouldn't assume that CF removes KI's trees. That would be unnecessary, but that doesn't mean they won't start putting in more concrete on the paths.
  14. Weird........I never noticed them until now and they've been there for 2 years?
  15. Since we're on the topic of Beast. Does anyone know when they put in the trim brakes right after the first tunnel? I rode it this past weekend and I was ready to shoot over the drop after the tunnel, but suddenly we slowed and crept over that hill. You used to be able to get a little air on that one, and I don't remember there being brakes on it before. So does anyone know when these were added (or turned on)?
  16. I'm not sure if I'll be going or not, but I will be finding out this afternoon. lol, talk about cutting it close. About the tours - I've heard that there will be a Beast tour and a SOB tour.
  17. I couldn't really think of much right now, but if I think of something I'll add it. INTERNATIONAL STREET Paramount Story --- Kings Island Gardens PARAMOUNT Action Zone --- Action Zone Top Gun --- Possibly Thunder Road, but if I thought of a good aircraft-type name, I'd pick that instead Congo Falls --- Amazon Falls, I agree with you Days of Thunder --- I'd remove it before renaming it FACE/OFF --- Keep it Face/Off, but remove the movie references (If I had to change it though - Rebound) CONEY MALL Flight of Fear --- Keep it Flight of Fear, that's not a Paramount property Paramount FX Theater --- Action FX Theater RIVERTOWN CDBB --- Boomerang Bay, again I agree with you
  18. That's what I thought, but I wasn't completely sure about it. I think Boomerang Bay is a cool name, much better than the numerous Hurricane Harbors. (Again the name thing ) Parks like the SFKK's Hurricane Bay (I guess that wasn't SF's choice, but they haven't changed it), and HW's Splashin' Safari have cool names for their parks as well.
  19. lol! I actually like the name Yellow Screamer better than Steel Venom. Overused names are one of my pet peeves though. Really I'd rather just keep it Face/Off, but throw out all the movie references. And about CDBB......Why not just call it Boomerang Bay? That doesn't have anything to do with a movie or Paramount property, yet still sounds cool.
  20. Wow, kindof an old thread. I guess since this is back up I'll mention this: You've probably noticed that FOF's photo booth is now gone. I passed by it on Sunday and all that was left was the TV moniter mounts. I wouldn't really care that much, but this takes away some from the launch. Since the cameras aren't there anymore, there aren't any eerie lights that flash in the tunnel. I guess that gave a sense of mystery while you were waiting in the station. Does anyone know why they took the photos out? Bad business? Possible ride removal? (at least until CF bought the park)
  21. What? No! I was going to ride it tommorow.

    smoking

I agree they could do more to spread the word about it at PKI. HW literally had it posted everywhere and it was on queue announcements as well, so there was no way to miss it. And then the designated smoking area's were very well marked and are nice-looking places that seemed to attract people.
  23. Yes! Kinzel says the waterpark will remain in KI's admission price. So far he seems to be keeping his word on staying with the formula that has worked for Paramount. About the season passes. I don't understand why they don't just make it mandatory that you get the upgraded pass. That is if the upgraded pass is necessary. It really doesn't seem like that big of a difference in the prices between the two. Maybe just make a medium between the prices and make the passes for all the parks the same.
  24. I guess you already know I am. I've even got my festive HWN avatar this week. I can't wait to leave tomorrow!
