Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that PKI will be on the Travel Channel in "Theme Park Secrets" at 5:00PM on Tuesday 8/17.

Same reason why other major corporations buy out the park. The only way I am welcomed is knowing someone who works for that corporation. At least on Pride Night, October 1st, anyone who buys a ticket is welcome. The money raised goes for good causes.

Because the first Sunday in June was an "unofficial" day. I like it better now that PKI and the GLBT organization has creted an official day, which is closed to the GP, but anyone, gay, straight, bi, etc., can attend.

Actually mine was Barvarian Beetle, but since that wasn't listed, I had to vote for Beastie (aka Scooby Doo)

I still haven't ridden it. I went last year opening day and it was closed.

I voted for "The second drop into the double helix.." BUT, my overall best part of The Beast is riding it at night!!

I rarely go see the shows like I used to, but with the changes in place for the theater, yes, I will go and check it out.

WOW! I've read almost everyones post since Mama's long post and here's my $.02 worth: I remember the early days when Mom and Dad took me and my older brother to KI. My youngest brother wasn't born yet. I would only ride Scooby Doo (Beastie now) and Barvarian Beetle. I would not even think about riding The Racer. It scared me. Finally I did one year and loved it. I was young, before 10, when I rode it. When I was 10, Scremon Demon arrived. That thing scared me too. Not just going upside down, but going Backwards? But I braved it and loved it!! Then The Beast. Oh my. My mom and I rode front seat and what a ride. I was 12 then. What I am getting at is KI back then did have a "coaster edge". We have always been on that block. Now to the present day. I read where we got a roller coaster and attendance seemed not to go up. Well heck, that ride had lots of problems if I recall, even when being built. It was a chance that PKI did and yes, I don't think it went over to well. I do like SOB, but I also think the layout is "cheesy" compared to the other coasters built. (My flame guards are on.) I agree with what PKI has done in the last years by adding flat rides, updating the areas, etc., BUT I also think it is time we get ourselves a nice steel speed coaster. At least over 250' or more. Do I want it to be a record breaker? Of course so, because PKI always tries to break a record somehow or another. But I won't scream if it is not. I would like a steel speed coaster like Goliath at SFMM. That is one sweet ride.

It's always nice to see and remember those days of KI. I remember when I wouldn't dare ride The Racer. It was too big. My dad and I would sit out and wait for my mom and older brother.

I'm not an expert either, but could the answer be that the 2 different coasters in question possibly be built at different times. (i.e. Taxi Jam may be an earlier version of that type of ride vs. Boa). Just a thought.

My scariest moment was on the Zodiac (The double ferris wheel). I remember my older brother and I rode it and when we got to the top, (the other end is at the bottom loading/unloading/or nothing since at one point they stopped loading one side...), my older brother decided to spin the cage. That my friends was my scariest moment. Having a spinning cage at whatever height that ride got to. Needless to say I never rode it again. (RIP Zodiac)

Me. I rode all of them and they were all good coasters. I also remember the time when it was just The Racer, Bavarian Beetle, and Scooby Doo (aka Beastie). I wouldn't ride any of them because I was too scared.

My vote goes to The Bat. It was a very unique ride and I always believe it's the best suspended that was ever made.
