  1. Brakes on coasters are designed to be fail-safe. A loss of power causes them to engage automatically. Coaster trains situated on lift hills will stop with the anti-rollback devices and are evacuated if necessary. I believe auxiliary devices such as air floors and ramps can be operated with an emergency hook-up outside of the normal air supply; backup generators assist in powering PLCs and other ride equipment for a short period of time. All rides and attractions have procedures in place in case of power failure. Redundancy is the key here.
  2. ^ Would you rather sweep the 50' or look after ducks?
  3. I would be. That would cost a lot of money... Would you be willing to trade in your Fun Perks to help build more levels in there?
  4. Let me repeat: ANY work of music that goes through a licensing organization must be cleared for its performance or broadcast in a public setting. The music from the Tomb Raider films fall under the same idea of licensing as the music from Tomb Raider: The Ride. If you didn't create it, you have to pay the person who did and their publisher in order to do so. If you pay the price, you can play your heart out with music from Lost. If they are telling you they don't want their music played, you must obey this order or face legal consequences. For example: If they were allowed and paid to use Flight of Fear's music, they can play it all they want. If they weren't allowed or didn't pay to use TRTR's music, then they were forced to change it... and they did.
  5. Multi-level? I hope they include a money pit.
  6. The licensing of music is the same whether it is played on a ride or through a background sound system. The music heard on The Crypt goes through the same process as what you hear even in a mall. Most works of music are licensed through an organization, particularly BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). If it's played publicly, you need the rights to do so.
  7. Provided things are still there, I doubt you will see Durga illuminated because she was part of a former story-line on a ride that doesn't exist anymore. As for everything else, you have to account for safety and egress locations. If they plan on using the main show building, there are certain things to think about. The Heart of the Tomb was not meant to have people walking around in it. It was built to provide the show environment for a large ride. Things have to change in order to accommodate a walk-through Haunt attraction.
  8. You'd need about 100 of those water lights to even remotely start to see Durga in the dark.
  9. ^ I can see it now ... call it 'Dick's Wheel.'
  10. The aforementioned layout doesn't dictate stairs for the final portion of the maze. It most likely utilizes the back area of the theater, as their building is probably laid out differently than our own. Not to mention, they couldn't build stairs without meeting ADA compliance.
  11. Would you still like gravy?
  12. A topic on which rides people have been stuck on ... now I've seen it all.
  13. That concert would be over in half an hour.
  14. You know Joe Schmo and Gary Everyman too? Small world ... They're nice guys.
  15. I see what you did there. Good one.
  16. For a second there, I thought the title said "Full Throttle Sucks" and I was going to have to ask why.
  17. Durga was built in pieces, so its more semi-permanent than anything.
  18. ^ Did you enjoy their show with some butterscotch ice cream?
  19. So the webcam constantly moves, offering different views of the park because of Friday's recent storms? My mistake. They obviously move it every once in a while so you don't get bored looking at it all day.
  20. Or maybe the webcam moved due to the high winds recently... Not everything has to do with SOB, people.
