I have a few questions about the Moby Dick attraction proposed for Kings Island. There are pieces of concept art for a boat attraction in the spot of land that eventually became the site of Enchanted Voyage.

Quite a bold statement with no proof.... here we go again..... ugh....

I almost never ride it anymore because of that. I'd love to see them abandon roping people off in the saucer. Micromanaging lines is unnecessary on most rides.

Granted, when the park opens this year, it's possible every line could be super micromanaged for obvious reasons.

Then how would you merge the Fastlane line?

previously shared some early drafts of the demon character... including one with a full body. I cannot find them in his post history, but it was very interesting to see how the concept evolved into the logo they ultimately used.

Think the photo with the 4 car train was during 1977 testing?

The next time you hear a ride op say on the microphone: "Number 5 is Alive" you will know that they are referencing Adventure Express, not a SOB 2.0.

Tell us your thoughts and if you know any more info about Outpost 5. Do you have any old pics of Outpost 5 or the symbol?

The quote “Number 5 is Alive” has no reference to Adventure Express, Son of Beast or even Kings Island.

Simply coaster fans mistakenly connecting dots to something it’s not.

Speaking of that Bat station picture (which is awesome, by the way): how did the post-station, pre-lift transfer track work? In my head, I always imagined The Bat's transfer track being like Vortex's, but that's not what's shown there. And there's such a slope on each track that it makes me feel like that transfer track must have been at a strange angle.

It was different than Vortex for the fact where you would never have to back a train up to get it back on the main line. There was 2 switch tracks (similar to Firehawks switch track) at either end of the station.

That portion of the storage track still has the big "barn doors" on your left just before Vortex photo. :)

Not sure if it existed for Vortex (or just The Bat), but there used to be another set of switchbacks beneath the station. Another thing I should double check with @TombraiderTy, @TOPGUN1993, or @Shaggy.

Not sure if Vortex ever utilized the under station switchbacks.

Bat Construction - Shows the under station queue house (notice how originally you were forced to go all the way to the bottom level before station level.)

Vortex Construction 1987 - Switchbacks appear to be there.
