  1. Honestly, if they were only in it to save money, why would they have ERT every day? It is going to cost a lot more for even a 1/2 hour ERT every day than a 4 hour or even 8 hour SPPD. Plus it is Diamondback and another ride ERT.....so almost double the cost.

    Snow Land?

Relatively easy installation and essentially not a lot in the electrical cost when you consider it as advertising and community good will. Sorry for the double post

    Snow Land?

Relatively easy installation and essentially not a lot in the electrical cost when you consider it as advertising and community good will. However, they don't own the pieces to it anymore. They were sold. And I would agree on the easy installation except for the "new" star they bought for it!
  4. Never said it wasn't required.....just not always the most important thing, especially starting out as a entry level technician! But yes, some knowledge is necessary!
  5. Experience isn't always the most important thing. Availability, the will to want to learn, and an extremely good work ethic are more important. Plus, wanting to get into the field also helps. Just know that you will start at the bottom, and will need to work your way up (just like anywhere else). It is important to know that there is a lot more to be a tech than just running 4-5 shows a day. There are always opportunities for more experience like concerts, special events, 4th of July, Haunt, etc.
  6. If you are interested, I would call the entertainment office and see if they are going to be looking for live musicians. It has been on their poster for years, including this past year, and they hired none this year.
  7. And how do you get that out of anything that has been said?
  8. They have always done auditions in early Novemeber for the next season. Then they usually follow up with a second round in late February, early March.
  9. I feel more sorry for the folks who took a chance and moved there to persue a Full Time Job at the park. I know more than one who left Kings Island, good people, who thought they were making a good career move. I for one, am thankful that I didn't try to follow suit, even though I thought about it long and hard. Interesting times.
  10. If Dead Awakening was so bad, why is it being added to AT LEAST one other CF park this year?
  11. Back to Labor Day weekend......Remember up until last year there has been the 3 day cheerleading event at the park that always drove attendance way up. I don't remember how last years crowd was, but without the cheerleading, I would assume at least Action Zone was a less crowded place!
  12. I am in need of a good picture of the torches outside of TRTR (since I don't think they have worked since it has been Crypt) actually working. I am really look for a good dusk/night picture. If anyone has one if they could post it or PM me with it I would appreciate it. It is for a client that is looking for something similar.
  13. ^Where do you see that? I read that the Beach was the only other one with a violation.
  14. That building is an eyesore, and has been under the "destroy" order many times, however something always seems to save it. The last time I heard they were talking about using it as a small maze for haunt, but then they bought the new big building.
  15. ^was done one year in the double helix for FearFest. There were problems with the smoke detectors. That is why it was cut. That season they also did foggers in two of the tunnels in Adventure Express.
  16. A few years ago A&E approached the park to do a jump similar to this, and the park didn't think the draw would be there. Now, new owners see it in a different light....huh....who would have guessed. I wonder if this is still tied to A&E or if it is just through the park.
  17. Check out their website at http://www.entertrainmentjunction.com for some updated pictures. I noticed their received their signage package today. This is going to be a cool place to take my 3 year old daughter.

    The Crypt

Amazing that no one has mentioned what they did to the ride platform. They have reduced it from 3 rows to 2, which is only going to help with the performance of the ride. Past that I love the new program. It is much better and faster than what we had before.
  19. DING!DING!DING! We have a winner! That facade was in terrible shape. The carpenters spent hours each year before the park opened trying to fix bad spots and paint the peeling paint again!
  20. I have had the pleasure of doing business with this upcoming attraction. It has been amazing to watch it grow in the last 3 months or so. I can officially say that I have never seen such a huge, detailed model train exhibit. I for one can't wait to take my girl to this when it opens.
  21. They removed half the cars when they made the conversion to Scooby.
  22. If no one knows, Ed Salter, who is mentioned in the article as the IT manager was a Full Time IT manager at Kings Island, up till this past season when he located this job. If I remember correctly there are one or two other FT memebers who flew the coop at KI to take positions at Hard Rock.
  23. I think, like most companies, that they will begin to look at GREEN options, with new additions, LED lighting, signs, etc. However, I wouldn't expect a giant overhaul of the entire park. It is still very costly to do these changes. And yes, they save money in the long run, but it is still a big original expense!
  24. ^ Yes, but I thought that contract (HB) wasn't set to expire until the end of 2008. So we could still see them in the show this year and disapear next. CF really believes that Snoopy, like Scooby, is a classic that all kids will know, unlike the many Nick shows that have come and gone since Nick was introduced into Kings Island.
