  1. Anybody know where Thunderhawk and Dominator are going?
  2. Prices are high, but they're pretty much high at all amusement parks. That's just how the industry thrives. My vote for worst thing goes to the progressive decline of ride themeing. Example: Top Gun and Kings Mills Railroad. I'm happy that some of the themeing elements have been restored on Adventure Express, but what's up with the train. It used to be so much better when the bear, the beavers and the rifles worked and before the fort was all overgrown with weeds. And don't get me going on Top Gun. I love that ride but come on, give it a paint job already! On a related note, it would also be nice to see all the lights working correctly on Racer and the Carousel. They're just a little more classic I think when all the lights are working.
  3. Kroger Stores have tickets for $35 ($10 off)
  4. I hope that guy is okay. If anyone has updated news, please keep us posted. That said, I love Firehawk, but I don't like the design of the queue line for it, as others have stated. I was there on June 17 and it was a hot day. A girl in line collapsed twice from heat exhaustion while in line. A few improvements KI could make to the line are 1) install mist makers to cool off the crowd in line; 2) add more shade trees where space permits; and 3) adjust the awnings to block more sunlight. The way they're angled now, they let entirely too much sunlight through. I certianly hope KI realizes they need to do whatever they can to make the crowds happy and safe.
  5. I agree and I don't think CF would use the same name for two roller coasters in the same state. If Thunder Road or Thunder Alley was the original name of Top Gun I think they should think about naming it that or possibly Bat. I think that IJ:ST would be the hardest to re-theme since it actually has themeing beside its name and a paint job but that could just be called Stunt Track and remove the some of the LA stuff. I agree. I think IJ:ST will be the most difficult to rename because the whole ride is inspired by scenes from the movie. To rename it means to retheme it, and that might be an endeavor that KI doesn't want to take on. Who knows? I guess we'll see. I doubt, though, that they will ever use the name "The Bat" again. Personally, I LOVED that ride, but with the ride retired, so the name should be retired as well...unless they were to rebuild The Bat in a different location using the exact same plans as the origianl. Naturally, they would have to correct the issues that brought about The Bat's demise. Seriously! Wouldn't that be sweet? Bring back The Bat...but make it do barrell rolls.
  6. Top Gun - Thunder Road or Thunder Alley (whatever the originally intedend name was to be) Drop Zone - Free Fall Tower Congo Falls - Amazon Falls (it's original name) Tomb Raider - Kings Mills Mineshaft or just Mineshaft or The Cave or Kings Mills Cave or Cave In Italian Job Stunt Track - Driver's Ed Stunt Track (sarcasm intended) Days of Thunder - Pitt Stop Motor Speedway Face/Off - Migrain Maker (it kills me every time I ride it...but I keep riding it) Paramount Theater - Kings Island Theater
  7. I read on the Thrill Network website that X-Flight is going to be painted in a red and yellow scheme and renamed "Firehawk." Anyone know if there's some truth to that rumor?
  8. There's a lot of unused land between The Beast and Tomb Riader that has great potential for park expansion or a gigacoaster.
  9. What's the advantage in replacing Paramount with CBS. To change all the signage would be a costly move, plus retheming everything with a Paramount license. From a business standpoint, I can't find the advantage.
  10. I was at PKI on July 9 and Delirium was still shut down. The story we got was that they were waiting on a part to come in.
  11. Based on the wording on the back of the season's pass, it seems like Winterfest is a go. They just haven't made a public statement yet.
