  1. I'm dating myself but I think the longest wait I personally ever waited in at Kings Island was 2 hours for the Lion Country Safari. The was back before it became an upcharge attraction.
  2. I was probably 7 or 8 with I first rode, twin racers and Scooby Doo back in the mid 70's (75 or 76).
  3. Both Busch Gardens and Seaworld are great parks. Most people have already talked about the great lineup of coasters. What the parks lack in quantity they more than make up for in quality. As far as food goes, I would recommend Zambia Smokehouse if you are in the mood for BBQ. They have excellent smoked ribs, chicken, and brisket. The price is also fairly reasonable as well. I normally order the combination plate with all 3 meats, coleslaw, fries, and corn bread for under $15.00. It is big enough to split or be a single meal for the day. I will have it then go get something small at Wendy's just outside the park on the way back to the hotel. If you have the time, I would also recommend you consider taking in some of the live shows. Katanga is an excellent stage show that is on par if not better than most of the shows at Disney. I would also recommend taking the sky ride over the savanah and the train ride. They are nice relaxing rides to get from 1 side of the park to the other. The 1 thing that is different about Busch Gardens Africa compared to a park like Kings Island is that Busch Gardens is not set up as a hub and spoke park. There is only 1 major path around the park with no way to good way to short cut between areas. That makes criss crossing the park a lot of walking. At Seaworld, there are only 3 major rides, Journey to Atlantis, a water ride; Kraken, a B&M Floorless; and Wild Arctic, A simulator ride. The park is a good place to relax. The shows are very good. I would just warn you about Shamu. They are not kidding about the splash zone. He is much bigger than the one that was in Cleveland and is in a bigger pool so he can drench large portions of the seating area when he splashes.

    A Clue?

I don't think Kings Island would have any trouble installing X-flight for the 07 season. Doing some searching on Rec.Roller-Coaster. Footer work on the original installation didn't begin until January 2001. The Google Groups. states that a few forms were up on Jan 28th 2001. It opened by the end of May. This coaster could go up very quickly. I know it did the first time. Jeremy
  5. I have 1 day left on a 2 day ticket. Can I apply the value of the ticket towards the purchase of a 2007 annual pass? If I can, I will probably get the pass at Kings Island. Otherwise, I will be getting it from Geauga Lake. Thanks Jeremy
  6. One reason some people might have been hoping for more thrill rides this time around is because a couple of years ago PKI had a survey on Winterfest where if I remember correctly they asked about different variations of rides being open. Some of the questions specifically mentioned if you would like to have rollercoasters or other thrill rides being open. My comment was geared towards the fact that they "could" have a couple of thrill rides open, make them fit into the Winterfest theme, and maybe have something new for later years. Unfortunately those rides are scattered around the entire park making it hard to control crowds and keep them where you want them. It would not be impossible though. They are already using the train and it's not that much further on to TR:TR. For FOF, they could do the horsedrawn carrige rides like they used to dropping people off in the courtyard infront of FOF. With only the one enterence into that area, security would not be a big problem. They could set up a tree lot of decorated trees for non-riders to enjoy while the rest of the thrill seekers ride. You could do the same thing with Action Theater except there is not the room for Non-Rider activities. Remember the first year of Fear Fest when you had to pay extra for the evening. After dark, they closed most of the back of the park. Last year, almost the entire park stayed open all evening. If this becomes popular, they will need more area for people to roam around and more things for people to do. Then, I think we may see "a few" thrill rides open.
  7. I think reopening for Winterfest is a good idea. There are a few ideas I wish they had incorporated but those could come in later years. There are 4 indoor attraction around the park that could be open during Winterfest. Only 1 is opening this year (that we know about). Scooby Doo is getting a Holiday overlay. I think eventually adding holiday overlays to the others would increase the value to the consumer. FOF could be some sort of high speed sleigh ride themed to one of Paramounts holiday movies. Action theater could get a holiday themed simulator fairly easily. Tomb Raider The Ride was harder to retheme but I think I've come up with a good one. For all of you classic Rankin/Bass holiday special fans, Heat Miser Vs. Cold Miser from "A Year Without a Santa Clause". Yes I know Paramount may not have the rights to that one. If Winterfest takes off, that would be in my mind, the three easiest places to expand.
